"yes, do you want to take another test?"

Jake answered him mockingly. He was smiling at him but Tobias saw a different glow in his best friend's eyes.

Tobias looked at the result again, then there, he confirmed that he WAS NOT the father of Charlotte's child! He doesn't knew how to felt right now!

Tobias thanked Jake for being a reliable friend of his!

"I need to tell you something."

Jake told him seriously, avoiding an eye contact with him.

"what was it?"

"about Maria"

Tobias felt a pang inside his heart when he heard her name! He doesn't had a clue where she was right now! His hired investigator can't find her!

"what about her?"

Jake cleared his throat before he started.

"last month I was in a mall taking a stroll after meeting some clients,"

Tobias was confused when he heard Jake talking about his life. Was he here for a joke again?! But he stayed quiet and let him continue.

"then I saw a crowd of people, they seemed busy and nervous at the same time. Then I heard a woman shout, as if she was in great pain! I was caught by my curiosity and walked towards the crowd. When I was coming near, the shout became clearer and she was shouting continuously."

Jake, took a deep breath again and continue.

"I was worried to hear those shouts. I heard some people said, to help the pregnant woman because she's bleeding!"

Tobias felt a shiver ran down his spine! Where would this story will take?! Was it?!

"I hurried my pace and was mortified to saw a pregnant woman on the bench! She was half conscious and she was bleeding horribly! I can't see her face because her head was down, as if she was looking at the blood and her tummy. She was caressing it weakly. And when I had a better look at her face, I recognized her!"

Jake stopped, he was clenching his teeth and he balled his fist! Jake looked at him fiercely.

"bro, that pregnant woman was Maria!"

When Tobias heard it, his world seemed to stopped rotating! He was beyond bewilderment!

Tobias looked at Jake shockingly, he doesn't want him to continue but he wanted to know the truth! All!

"I took her inside the ambulance and went straight to the nearest hospital! I was worried as hell! That time, I didn't knew who was the father of her babies. I just made a conclusion that she got away because of her luggage. She was been inside the operating room for long hours! Five, six hours, I didn't knew!"
