Azeroth Monster Manual
#125 - Are you sure this thing is a snake?
Hermit gained a new companion. After a brief delay, Ayr felt that the journey had been delayed long enough and decided to go straight to the source, heading to the deepest part of the Dark Abyss to capture Aku'mai.
...
After dealing with several waves of aggressively charging murloc slaves and male naga, Ayr finally caught a female naga he had been longing for.
"Look at those teeth, look at that figure, tsk tsk tsk…"
Ayr, like a madam in a brothel, raised the female naga's chin, showing great interest.
The biggest difference between female and male naga is that female naga have retained the feminine face from ten thousand years ago very well. Although they have six arms and exaggerated dorsal fins, Ayr could still see the original allure and beauty in this naga's figure.
"Is this time still too early?"
Ayr muttered with some dissatisfaction.
In the game of his previous life, the entire Dark Abyss had already been occupied by the followers of N'Zoth. Naga, Twilight's Hammer, murlocs, and lobster-men, these vast numbers of humanoid creatures, all resided here as N'Zoth's claws.
But at this point in time, the Dark Portal had not yet opened, and the cult organization Twilight's Hammer had not yet been established. In the Dark Abyss, only these scattered naga and marine creatures enslaved by the naga were stationed here.
The giant turtle Gamora was originally a native of the Dark Abyss, but one day, those brutal naga received guidance from the Old God N'Zoth and came here to guard one of N'Zoth's favorite pets - the three-headed serpent Aku'mai.
To say they were guarding, the naga's duty was actually to feed Aku'mai. Those murloc and lobster-men slaves were tools the naga captured to feed Aku'mai.
The giant turtle Gamora was unfortunately captured by the naga. Just as the giant turtle was about to submit to the naga and become a guard dog of the Dark Abyss, the arrival of Ayr and his party disrupted the naga's plans.
"Lobster-men 12, blindlight murlocs 34, male naga 25, female naga 1, sea turtles 5…"
Ayr squatted beside Hermit, counting the gains of this trip. Relatively speaking, he was still very satisfied, except that there was only one female naga, which made him a little regretful.
"Forget it, can't worry about so much. Ask your wilderness companion, how do we get to Aku'mai's lair?"
"No problem!"
Hermit put down the pile of 'materials' he was dragging behind him and ran happily to Gamora to inquire.
Interestingly, although he had gained a new companion, Hermit still voluntarily took on the work of a porter. The reason was simple: the old dwarf was afraid that Gamora's wounds on its back would recur.
Ayr shook his head helplessly. Although he was not a hunter, he could understand the unusual bond between hunters and their pets. Since Hermit was happy, let him do it.
A moment later, at Hermit's request, the giant turtle Gamora crawled to the front of the group and took on the responsibility of leading the way.
After solving a few more batches of lobster-men slaves, the group finally arrived at the ruins of a temple after winding around.
In the empty hall, the sound of water droplets could be heard from time to time. This hall was like a maze, with countless forks and dilapidated walls. Ayr flew into the air and, after searching for a moment, finally found the exit.
The group followed Ayr's footsteps closely, slowly walking through the rugged passage.
Since having Gamora as a wilderness companion, Hermit was like a child who had obtained a new toy, his attention completely focused on Gamora.
"Lord Ayr, do you think Gamora will die of thirst after we go back?"
"No, this is a land turtle, not the common sea turtle or freshwater turtle. We can feed it normally."
Ayr, with a strong light spell shining in his hand, was responsible for illuminating the road ahead. Hearing the old dwarf's words, he replied without turning his head.
"Then what does it like to eat? Fish? Fruit? Bread?"
"Enough! Can't you ask it yourself?"
Ayr interrupted the old dwarf, who was trying to find something to talk about, with a face full of black lines.
"Alright…"
...
Under the guidance of Ayr and Gamora, the group finally arrived at their destination. Looking at the tall stone gate in front of them, Ayr fell into deep thought.
"The painting on this door is actually N'Zoth. That's really strange. Was it carved by those naga? Or…"
Just as the young man was pondering, Milune's slightly trembling voice rang in the young man's ear.
"I… we should… we should go back."
The dryad girl, like a frightened deer, hid behind Ayr, trembling as she peeked at the stone gate in front of her, saying timidly.
"Milune, what's wrong with you?"
Ayr asked softly, pulling the dryad girl's small hand with some surprise.
Perhaps the young man's palm was warm enough, Milune, who was trembling non-stop, gradually calmed down, but her voice was still a little soft:
"I feel a dark aura inside, that aura makes me very uncomfortable."
The little deer stomped the ground with her hooves uneasily. She lowered her head, half of her body lying on the young man, not daring to look at the door.
"Strange, could it be that there is N'Zoth's aura here? Why didn't I notice it?"
Ayr suddenly felt that this adventure had become confusing. He still understood N'Zoth's power. At this time, Ayr did not have the strength to touch the Old God.
"Is it to leave? Or continue to explore?"
Stroking Milune's beautiful hair, Ayr became a little hesitant. If it was just him alone, then he might not hesitate. With his many trump cards, even if he faced N'Zoth's true form, he would have a 50% chance of escaping, but the three apprentices and Hermit behind him had become his burdens.
Plus the lovely dryad Milune he had just met, Ayr had to think about their safety.
"Forget it… this time…"
Ayr covered his forehead helplessly, just about to announce that this adventure would end here, but before he could finish speaking, the originally closed stone gate suddenly opened, and an extremely strong suction force came from inside the door.
Before Ayr could react, the old dwarf and Gamora 'flew' into the door like two round balls.
"Damn it!"
Ayr cursed angrily, put his left arm around Milune, did not hesitate at all, and instead of retreating, flew into the door.
The trio exchanged a difficult glance, canceled the [Ice Barrier] they had just released, and flew in with their mentor.
"Clang…"
"Bang"
"Bang"
"Ouch"
The sound of heavy objects landing and screams rang out at the same time.
The trio rubbed their bruised arms and thighs, struggling to get up from the ground. Alan snapped his fingers, and a bright light illuminated his surroundings.
Calaine and Anselm followed suit and cast light spells. The originally dark temple instantly became as bright as day under the illumination of the light spells.
The three touched the wet mud under their feet, and were surprised to find that they were no longer in the original temple, but had come to a dim cave with gurgling water.
"Where are the mentors?"
Calaine asked anxiously.
"Just now the mentor pulled Milune and took the initiative to fly in."
Anselm grabbed a handful of dirt from the ground and sniffed it lightly at his nose.
"The soil here has a fishy smell, which is very similar to the smell on some kind of creature…"
"Roar!"
Just as the three were thinking about how to find Ayr, a huge roar awakened them from their contemplation.
"Damn it! It's Aku'mai! This is the lair of Aku'mai that Milune said!"
The three couldn't care about anything else and hurried towards the direction of the roar.
...
After a long time, the three came to the depths of the cave, staring dumbfounded at the old dwarf who was fighting a hideous beast.
Alan pointed hesitantly at the three-headed beast, which was more than ten times larger than Gamora, and asked Winosis:
"Are you sure this thing is a snake?"
