Azeroth Monster Manual
#135 - The broken timeline
The war ended, but the doubts in Aire's heart did not diminish by half.
Because the Alliance in this timeline did not agree with Terenas Menethil II's suggestion to create sanctuaries to house those orcs who had lost the blood of demons, becoming abnormally weak and decadent, but instead killed all these orc prisoners of war.
Although Terenas II strongly opposed it, the remaining Alliance countries did not agree with Menethil's proposal as in his previous life, but unanimously rejected it, which also completely changed history.
When he heard the news, Aire was completely dumbfounded.
"That old dragon was right. In the long river of time, no two timelines are the same. This timeline seems to have been abandoned.
No, I can't say that yet. Although there are no orcs in the sanctuaries, Thrall is not dead yet, and the Horde may not disappear. It may not fail in the future when facing the War of the Shifting Sands and the Burning Legion."
Although he said so, reality still slapped Aire hard in the face. Like a curse from Murphy's Law, everything he imagined came true.
History took a turning point here. Although Thrall was rescued by Grom Hellscream and prepared to find a new home with the Frostwolf Clan, without a large number of orc prisoners of war in the sanctuaries, the Warsong Riders led by Grom and the old, weak, sick, and disabled members of the Frostwolf Clan, even if they numbered tens of thousands, the new Horde, lacking soldiers and generals, was simply too weak.
When he heard the news that the orcs had made a comeback, Turalyon was the first to stand up. At that time, Fordring had returned to his territory, living a peaceful life after the war. When he heard the news of the Horde, Turalyon had already led the Allied forces to wipe out this remnant army.
Although the last shaman of the orcs, the blind prophet Drek'Thar, exhausted all his strength to create a violent earthquake, the new Horde still failed to escape the Alliance's pursuit.
In the same year, the Alliance paid a heavy price to besiege and kill Grom Hellscream, Thrall disappeared and his life and death were unknown, and the entire new Horde disappeared into the long river of history, leaving only some disorganized stragglers entrenched in Blackrock Mountain, constantly fighting with the Dark Iron dwarves all year round.
Although the Alliance knew this news, those stragglers were like a minor illness, and Turalyon did not take it seriously.
When they learned that the Alliance had won a complete victory, the entire human kingdom celebrated. Those who had lost their homes and relatives stood in the streets, their faces covered with tears, both mourning their relatives and friends and rejoicing in the defeat of the Horde.
Fordring did not participate in this carnival. Although he was also very happy, the good education he had received since childhood made his heart very tormented. He was strongly opposed to the massacre of orc prisoners of war.
Although he was one of the heroes of the Alliance, Fordring obviously did not have the power and right to change this matter.
"Humility, compassion, justice, honor... Those orcs, even if they deserve to die, are just poor people who have been brainwashed and manipulated. They have already accepted punishment. Why kill those unarmed prisoners of war? This has violated the will of the Holy Light. This is dishonorable!"
Fordring took out the holy book of retribution he kept close to his body, knelt on one knee, and prayed silently, as if only in this way could he calm the anger and shame in his heart.
But what ability does a small kingdom lord have to change all this?
More than ten years later...
Sargeras never gave up his intention to destroy Azeroth, so... the Burning Legion came.
Lordaeron had already been destroyed by the Scourge, leaving only Fordring's Hearthglen and some Scarlet Crusade still resisting with organized troops, but for the overall situation, it seemed insignificant.
Fordring stood in front of his son, smashing the head of an abomination to pieces. Dirty blood and foul mucus splattered all over Fordring's face. This mountain-like abomination was killed with one blow by the Highlord after killing more than a dozen warriors.
"Tirion, are you okay?"
Fordring gasped for breath and pulled his son up. Fordring was old now. In his nearly old age, he no longer had the tenacity and strength of his youth, but the Holy Light in his body became more and more concentrated and pure.
"Father, these undead are gathering more and more. Can we really win this victory?"
A hideous smile appeared on Tirion Fordring's youthful face. He stared at his father without blinking, wanting to hear the answer he wanted to hear from his father.
Fordring looked at the hopeful light in his son's eyes and couldn't help but feel sad. Although he wanted to encourage him, the reality was that their supplies and soldiers were running out.
At this moment, with a loud 'boom', the earth shook and the mountains swayed. The father and son struggled to stabilize their bodies before they could fall down.
"What happened?"
Tirion Fordring asked in panic, but Old Fordring did not answer. At this time, he had a bad premonition in his heart.
Aire felt the chaotic magical fluctuations in the outside world and understood in his heart. Although he had no physical body, he could clearly feel that the magic web of Hillsbrad Foothills had collapsed, which also meant... Dalaran had been completely destroyed.
"Archimonde is here..."
Aire sighed, knowing that this timeline might have been completely abandoned.
"What exactly do you want me to do?"
......
Although the night elves tried their best to resist, without the help of the Horde in the War of the Shifting Sands many years ago, they won the battle against the Qiraji with the help of the guardian dragons, but they did not completely kill C'Thun, but re-sealed Ahn'Qiraj, which also meant that new hidden dangers were buried for the future, but the night elves had no choice.
With the arrival of Archimonde, the night elves, who had only recuperated for a few years, were forced to take up arms again.
Without the help of the Horde, the torrent of demons that swept in completely destroyed the defenses of Mount Hyjal. Malfurion died heroically, and the energy of the World Tree, Nordrassil, was absorbed by Archimonde.
The world... ushered in the end.
Fordring fell to the ground with dull eyes. Beside him was Tirion Fordring, who had been dead for a long time. He looked at the blood-red sky with dull eyes, wondering what he was thinking.
This planet was about to be destroyed, and the world soul let out a silent wail. Fordring could clearly feel it, but he was as powerless as an ant and could not change anything.
"Holy Light... Hehe... Holy Light, where were you when we were experiencing disasters? Where were you when the Burning Legion invaded our world?"
A line of blood and tears flowed from the old knight's eyes, and the Holy Light in his body was extinguished at this moment...
Looking at all this complicatedly, feeling the pain of the world soul, Aire's heart was filled with mixed feelings. Not only Fordring, but even he could not stop such a natural disaster.
"Burning Legion... Can't it really be defeated?"
Looking at everything in the distance that was gradually melting away, like a firework, Azeroth under the doomsday was beautiful, but the price of the fuel was terribly expensive. Aire silently felt this collapsing world, feeling the shock and fear in his heart.
The earth collapsed and the world was forever silent......
PS: Some readers have reported that they have not played Warcraft and cannot understand some of the plots, and some say that there are too many names to remember. The author can only say that it doesn't matter if you don't understand. The author will popularize each character and event in some later chapters or appropriate nodes, and will not skip it in one stroke.
For example, in this chapter, if it is popularized, the famous scenes and details may take four or five chapters to write. Not only can the author not stand it, but readers probably don't like to read it either.
There is no way to do it with names. Western fantasy is like this. This is still removing the last names. If you add the last names, it is estimated that you can write a lot of words (laughs). Especially in such a huge world view, it is impossible to change the names. The author has omitted the names of some extras, or they will not be mentioned.
The author has also thought of a way that is not a solution, that is, if a character has not appeared for a long time and suddenly has a role again, his title will be added, such as King Terenas Menethil II of Lordaeron, in this format, of course, it will only be written once, and will not add words.
