Azeroth Monster Manual

#158 - Hex: Thank you for the gift of nature

"Young miss? Should we head back? It's really too cold."

Lola tightened her cotton hat, revealing only two light green eyes and a delicate nose. Even so, the extreme cold at the summit was still taking its toll on her.

"N-no... I've already seen their footprints!"

Li An'da braved the oncoming wind, her teeth chattering, as she spoke haltingly.

The snow had stopped, but being two girls, they had suffered greatly along the way. This was an unprecedented experience for the two young ladies.

Although Lola could cast intermediate-level fire magic to warm them, the weak magic power within her was not enough to sustain her continuously.

The two had no choice but to walk and stop intermittently. When cold, they would hug each other for warmth, drink a cup of magically purified water boiled by Lola, and when hungry, they would eat a few bites of fruit prepared in advance in their spatial backpack, until they reached the end of the footprints, a depression in a ring-shaped mountain range.

The young miss stood at the edge of the depression, looking at the shadowy black dots below, feeling somewhat afraid, while Lola had already hidden behind her.

This was the first time these two young ladies had seen so many trolls.

"Miss, let's go back. It's too dangerous here."

Lola clutched Li An'da's sleeve tightly, resembling a frightened little animal, her speech even becoming somewhat slurred.

Lola had been Li An'da's playmate since childhood. Although she always regarded herself as a maid, Li An'da never treated her as her servant, but as a true sister.

From childhood, whenever Lola was bullied by other girls, Li An'da would always stand up for her, standing in front of the little maid. Although she would be bullied miserably by those bad girls every time, she still stood up again and again.

Later, Lola entered the Faserin Academy under the recommendation of Li An'da's father to study magic, while Li An'da, by chance, was favored by the priests of Silvermoon City and taught the path of Holy Light.

And now, the two seemed to have returned to their childhood. Lola hid behind Li An'da in fear, while Li An'da bravely faced a group of bad children.

"Don't be afraid, it's okay."

Although Li An'da was also very scared, she still feigned composure and stroked the little maid's hair.

"Let's go back, Lola. That elf was right, this is indeed not a place for us to stay. Adventure is not a romantic knight's novel."

"Mm."

The two craned their necks to look down again, then reluctantly returned to their original spot.

"Young miss..."

"What's wrong?"

Li An'da looked at Lola in confusion, who was trembling all over, while Lola silently pointed in the direction they had just come from.

"The footprints... the footprints are gone."

"Ah!"

Li An'da exclaimed, running frantically towards the location in her memory, but when she reached the end of the footprints, she discovered that the distant footprints had long disappeared under the blowing of the cold wind.

"What do we do? Young miss?"

Lola helplessly tugged at Li An'da's sleeve, her eyes slightly red, on the verge of tears.

"Calm down... calm down..."

Li An'da took a deep breath, the cold air traveling from her nostrils through her trachea to her lungs, finally clearing her mind a little. She knew that she could only rely on herself at this time and had to force herself to calm down.

But all of this was in vain. Even if a young lady from a wealthy family was knowledgeable, what could she do if she was thrown into the perilous wilderness?

"Lola, open the portal. This is the last resort."

The girl said bitterly, her delicate face, already red from the cold, gradually turning unsightly.

"But... but this notebook says that if spatial magic is not cultivated to a high level, the coordinates will be wrong, and the caster will be teleported to an unknown area, just like we were just now, and at worst... at worst..."

Lola put down the notebook, not daring to look Li An'da in the eyes, muttering softly.

"What at worst?"

Li An'da anxiously took the little maid's hand, asking impatiently.

"At worst, the caster will be caught in the spatial turbulence, and there is a high probability of death..."

Lola finally burst into tears in fear, pearl-like tears rolling down her delicate and small face. If Li An'da wasn't still here, this girl would probably have already collapsed.

After hearing Lola's words, Li An'da also fell silent.

After a long while, Li An'da squeezed Lola's small hand and nodded firmly at her.

Lola hesitated for a moment, then also nodded towards Li An'da.

Behind them was a cliff of ten thousand zhang, and below the cliff was a troll tribe with more trolls than locusts. The way back had been lost, and if they went back, they would eventually freeze to death on the road.

The choices left for them were not many.

"I'm sorry, Lola. It's me who has dragged you into danger again and again. I'm sorry."

Li An'da hugged the shivering Lola, and tears could not help but fall from her red eyes.

"It's... it's okay, young miss."

The little maid forced a smile, barely squeezing out a smile.

"Let's start. If we can return to a safe place this time, then I will let El... allow you to pursue El."

Li An'da originally wanted to say that she would give El to the little maid, but when the words reached her lips, she didn't know why she changed her mind.

"Young miss!"

Lola, who had been full of hope waiting for Li An'da to say the second half of the sentence after hearing the first half, did not expect that her young miss would be so stingy at the end.

So the little maid cried even more sadly.

"Stop crying! Open the portal quickly!"

In the end, it was still Li An'da who was slightly superior, and the little maid could only take out the casting materials from the spatial backpack while staring at her young miss with resentment.

“Hmph, I knew you were a scheming vixen, daring to steal my man. Just wait until I get my hands on you.”

Lyanda lifted her chin slightly, as if victorious, the corners of her mouth curving into a smug smile.

The little maid, while wiping away tears, haltingly placed the teleportation stone, muttering incessantly.

“Hmph, when I become the mistress of the Sarona family, I'll make you wash my feet every day, twice a day, no, three times! I'll make your hands as ugly as those of peasant women, so you can't bully me anymore.”

The little maid, imagining some beautiful prospect, actually giggled.

Just as the two were harboring their own ulterior motives, plotting how to 'torment' each other in the future, a crooked, flickering teleportation gate finally took shape.

“This… is it really going to work?”

The little maid revealed her true colors, fearfully hiding behind Lyanda. Even she was afraid of this teleportation gate she had '捏' (molded/created).

Looking at the crooked teleportation gate, Lola suddenly recalled the dark cuisine she had made as a child.

This work is organized and uploaded by ~ ~

In the end, Lyanda bravely grabbed Lola's sleeve, took two steps at a time, and stepped through the teleportation gate without hesitation.

“Ugh!”

“Ugh!”

After a dizzying spin, the two finally passed through the teleportation gate, but the intense vertigo caused both of them to experience nausea and retching in different ways.

After a long while…

Lola and Lyanda only felt light and airy, as if they were soaking in a hot spring, their whole bodies warm.

“Lola, did you open the teleportation gate to a hot spring? Why is it so comfortable?”

Lyanda closed her eyes, comfortably wiggling her bloated body. The heavy cotton clothes on her body were already soaked, but the young lady didn't care. At this moment, she just wanted to rest well and relieve her body's fatigue.

“It's really so comfortable, Miss. But I used the Silvermoon City teleportation beacon. I remember Silvermoon City doesn't seem to have hot springs, right?”

Lola squinted her eyes, vaguely looking at the mist floating around, comfortably stretching in the water.

Time slowly passed. Just as the two were drowsy and about to completely lose consciousness, Lyanda's doubtful voice suddenly sounded.

“Lola, do you feel a little hot under your feet?”

“Ah, really! This hot spring can even heat up automatically? It's really amazing, Miss. We must come here often in the future. I heard that hot springs can nourish the skin and beautify the face.”

Just as the two were chatting drowsily, a gust of cold wind suddenly blew, and the surrounding misty air gradually dissipated under the blowing of this strong wind, and the two also saw the surrounding scenery clearly.

Looking around at the scenery, the two realized that the environment they were in seemed a little wrong.

Three female trolls appeared in front of them, throwing handfuls of spices, petals, and some dark but very fragrant things into the "hot spring."

Several pairs of eyes stared at each other silently, big eyes staring at small eyes.

“Mi… Miss, trolls!”

Lola didn't know when she had hidden behind the young lady again, trembling and said.

Lyanda: … …

“Kima, my warrior, look who's here! Two tender and delicious little elves? I was originally planning to spend a beautiful night with you, but I didn't expect to have prey who would take the initiative to bring us a midnight snack?”

A voluptuous female troll with a beautiful face twisted her slender waist and came in front of Lyanda and Lola.

Behind her was a one-eyed male troll with a broken tooth and a wretched appearance, dragging the female troll's light gauze, as if it were weightless.

“My lady, are these two elves the gifts you prepared for me?”

Kima walked up to Hex with flattery, and very dog-leggedly handed Hex a stone plate with a knife and fork.

“You are really thoughtful, my sweetheart, but I don’t like to eat things with human tableware.”

Hex teasingly lifted Kima's chin, and staged a hot kissing scene in front of the two young girls.

Three fangs collided fiercely, the girls shyly covered their eyes, but couldn't help but open two fingers and peek secretly.

“Ew ~ It's all stringy.”

The little maid said softly with a flushed face.

“Too… too lewd, don't look!”

Lyanda's pretty face flushed red, and faint steam floated from the top of her head. She domineeringly covered the little maid's eyes, but she frowned and watched with relish.

“Huff… huff… my dear, you are getting more and more wild. After we unify Hinterlands, you will be my only prince.”

Hex licked the corners of her lips and two small fangs with aftertaste.

Kima was not carried away by her success, but knelt humbly on the ground, raised Hex's ugly palm, and kissed it constantly.

“Hehe, don't make trouble, let us fill our stomachs first, and then have fun.”

Hex gave Kima a charming wink, and then her face became hideous.

“Tell me, when did you two tender two-legged sheep come to my territory? If you tell me everything, maybe I will consider eating faster when I eat.”

The two girls finally realized their situation. This was not a hot spring in Silvermoon City, but a large tank for trolls to cook things, and the misty steam above their heads was the fog generated by the continuous heating of the tank.

The two girls looked at each other and hugged each other, trembling.
