Azeroth Monster Manual
#165 - A stepping stone to a new order
"Hahahaha, you green-skinned scum, eat my Type Zero Rocket Barrage!"
Type Zero floated in the air, the pair of hideous blades on its arms had long since disappeared, replaced by two square launchers with dozens of dark muzzles.
Amidst the old dwarf's hysterical laughter, countless rockets flashing white light and trailing long fiery wings shot out from the muzzles on Type Zero's arms.
"Boom…"
"Boom boom…"
The whistling sound in the sky grew increasingly intense, followed by violent explosions, as the Evil Branch trolls wailed and fled in all directions.
This was an unequal battle, even a massacre.
The elderly, children, women, and unarmed civilians were all caught up in it.
Everywhere was filled with smoke and fire, and the livestock in the pens broke free from their ropes. These frightened animals rushed out in a frenzy, trampling the wounded civilians.
The ground was littered with moans, and some unlucky souls who were not yet dead struggled to get up, only to find that their lower bodies had been blasted to pieces.
A young troll lay trembling on a pile of straw. In the world he could see, the whole of Zul'Aman was shaking, the fields sinking, trembling, the demons in the sky laughing wildly, a violent explosion occurring in the east, and crowds of people crying and fleeing in the south.
'No, I have to get out of here.'
The young troll mustered his courage, but as he tried to escape, he found his world becoming unusually quiet after a roar, with only a pure white light remaining between heaven and earth.
'Ah, this is… this is my… body.'
His head rolled on the ground, and in his last moments of consciousness, he saw his body tumbling.
Some scattered Evil Branch spellcasters tried to form an offensive to bring down Type Zero in the air, but the old dwarf was clearly not going to give them the chance.
With just a side swipe, countless more missiles rained down.
Thirty minutes later, after Type Zero fired its last remaining missile, Hermit finally sighed contentedly.
Looking at the tragic scene below, the old dwarf felt no emotion. Decades ago, when he was still a ranger, he had seen paintings that were even more cruel and bloody than the scene before him, and the protagonists of those paintings were innocent dwarven civilians.
War is always like this, without pity, without mercy, only blood for blood and tooth for tooth.
By this point, one-third of this ancient troll city had been reduced to dust by Type Zero's bombardment. Unfortunately, because the main force of the Evil Branch was stationed on the front lines, Hermit's operation did not cause much damage to the army. Al's request was more like a venting of emotions, a revenge.
And Al didn't care how much of the Evil Branch's strength Hermit could kill. This was just a move in the game, more for that fragmented elven girl who was still smiling and thanking him even after her death.
…
Al, led by Hex, arrived at the entrance of the dungeon.
Casually dealing with the few minions guarding the prison, the boy easily entered the dungeon.
"Cough cough…"
Brushing away the cobwebs wrapped around the door, the drifting dust made the unprepared boy cough twice.
As soon as this dungeon was opened, a strong smell of blood and a nauseating stench of decay rushed over.
"Wuwuwu, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, don't eat me…"
"Save me! Save me!"
"Give me a bite to eat, I haven't eaten for days…"
"Hehehe hahaha hehehehe, kill you! Kill you!"
…
Cries, pleas for mercy, and unintelligible muttering—all sorts of miscellaneous sounds in this filthy dungeon rang out the moment Al opened the prison door.
Bright light shone in his hand, and Al approached a prison cell for a closer look.
In the prison cell, a dirty figure was lying on the ground, emitting terrifying laughter. While laughing, he spoke in the troll language, saying things like 'kill you'.
Al shook his head helplessly. This Witherbark troll had completely gone mad. Then he came to the next prison cell, which held a small creature with an extremely ugly appearance and a dog's head.
What was laughable was that this ugly creature was covered in wounds, and one of its feet was missing, but it was tightly holding a milky white candle, refusing to let go even when sleeping.
Al continued to walk, preparing to go to the next prison cell to see if there were any of his compatriots. Just as he was about to leave, a young voice came from a prison cell behind him.
"Stranger, don't go, wait a moment."
The voice was spoken in the troll language. Originally, Al didn't want to pay attention, but the next sentence that rang out in the prison cell caught his attention.
"Don't go! I am the husband of the Chipped Tooth Chieftain. If you can take me back to the Chipped Tooth tribe, then my wife and the tribe will definitely repay you!"
The boy stopped, turned around, and cast Light on the prison cell, then sized up the young troll who claimed to be the husband of the Chipped Tooth Chieftain with interest. In just a few seconds, a crazy plan took shape in his mind.
Before Al arrived, Hinterlands had five forces: the Evil Branch trolls, the Wildhammer dwarves, the Witherbark trolls, the Revantusk trolls, and the Quel'Danil elven rangers.
Among them, the Evil Branch had the largest force, followed by the Witherbark. Due to geographical reasons, the Wildhammer only needed to face the Witherbark tribe's invasion (because the Witherbark and Evil Branch were adjacent, the Witherbark did not dare to wage a large-scale war with the dwarves, fearing that the Evil Branch would take advantage of the situation). The Quel'Danil elves had strong concealment, and the trolls had not yet discovered their踪迹.
And the weakest Revantusk tribe could no longer be considered surviving in the cracks. Under Hex's increasingly inflated ambition, the already precarious Revantusk tribe became even more difficult.
Just a few months ago, Hexx captured the current chieftain's husband of the Viletooth tribe, who is the one in the cage, to coerce Chieftain Jaggedtooth (named Chieftain Jaggedtooth, tribe is the Viletooth tribe) into submission, forcing her to offer the tribe's population to the Revantusk tribe without compensation.
Although Chieftain Jaggedtooth deeply loved her husband, she clearly didn't want to offer her people to the Revantusk trolls. So, in a dark night unknown to anyone, she led the entire Viletooth tribe of the ends of the earth to hide, and Hexx has not been able to find their whereabouts to this day.
"You say you are Chieftain Jaggedtooth's husband, do you have anything to prove your identity?"
"Yes, yes, yes, this is my wife's tooth, please take a look."
Seeing that Ayr actually responded to his call, the young troll hurriedly and excitedly took out a yellowed, half-broken tooth and handed it to the boy.
Ayr did not take the broken tooth in his hand, but silently scanned the young troll in front of him with his mental power.
After feeling that the troll was not lying, Ayr finally nodded. He simply pointed his finger and opened the iron lock on the prison door.

"Thank you, thank you for your generosity, stranger."
The young troll couldn't wait to open the prison door and stood in front of Ayr, saying excitedly.
"Heh heh, aren't you trolls mortal enemies with the elves? Why do I feel like you don't have much hostility towards me?"
Ayr smiled and threw a rusty spear to the young troll.
"What's your name?"
"Kahn, my name is Mr. Kahn."
Kahn clumsily took the spear and scratched his head somewhat shyly.
"Do you eat human flesh?"
"Ah?"

"I'm asking you, do you eat human flesh?"
The boy's face had a scrutinizing look as he looked seriously at the young man in front of him.
"No... No, our Viletooth tribe has made a living by fishing for generations, and we don't have the custom of eating human flesh."
Feeling the terrifying aura on the boy, Kahn said with a hint of fear.
"Very good, your answer satisfies me, follow me closely, noob, don't fall behind."
Ayr had no interest in continuing to chat with Kahn, but walked towards the depths of the prison.
After a long time, the boy opened the last prison door and carried out a little dwarven girl who was shivering in the corner.
Looking at the dark mass of prisoners behind him, Ayr couldn't help but show a look of unbearable expression on his face. These dwarves, elves, and even a small number of humans were all the remaining 'normal people'.
In fact, there were many, many more walking corpses in the prison who had lost their minds and even their souls. These prisoners were tortured by the Revantusk trolls beyond recognition.
Ayr did not hesitate and helped these poor people relieve their pain one by one.
"Sir, can my tribe come with you...?"
Kahn wanted to say something awkwardly, but was interrupted ruthlessly by the boy.
"Don't even think about your tribe, but I can give them a chance to live. The prison door has been opened for them, and the rest is up to them."
"Thank you, thank you, thank you for your kindness."
Kahn knelt on one knee, expressing his gratitude, but Ayr's next words made him feel cold all over.
"Don't rush to thank me, they can leave, you have to stay."
In this way, Ayr opened the portal to the Ayr's Light Outpost and sent these poor people back. The trio was waiting for them on the other side of the portal.
Ayr felt that the three of them were wasting resources in the Hinterlands, so he sent them back along with the head maid Eileen and Natasha, so that they could be responsible for the daily operation of the mage tower together with Barton.
The reason for leaving Kahn behind was because Ayr had a new idea, a brand new idea after subverting the Revantusk tribe, and Kahn, the husband of this Viletooth chieftain, was the stepping stone to establishing a new order in the Hinterlands.
......
"Lord Ayr, what are we going to do next?"
Hermit did a nimble somersault and jumped out of the cockpit of the Null. Hermit had a great time this night. Except for the upper three floors of the Hinterlands, the rest of the floors were destroyed by him beyond recognition.
"I will open a portal to Quel'Danil Lodge for you. You take this troll back and let Commander Sador keep a close watch on him. Remember, don't let your distant relatives get this news."
Ayr pointed to the young troll shivering behind him and instructed the old dwarf seriously.
"Yes! Lord Ayr, I will 'entertain' him well."
Hermit showed a cruel smile and was about to pull Kahn's arm.
"What are you doing? Who said to let you entertain him? He is our honored guest. After you go back, give me good food and drink to serve him. If I find that he is missing a hair, heh heh, you understand."
The old dwarf looked at the boy's strange smile and couldn't help but shudder.
"Stay in Quel'Danil for me. If you dare to run out without my summons, I will break your legs!"
"Ah!"
"Scram!"
...
After sending away the old dwarf who turned his head three times, Ayr took out a communication stone from his arms again and activated the switch.
"I am Sador Brightwing, Commander."
"I am Ayr Salonar, I have a mission for you."
"Please speak, Commander!"
Sador Brightwing on the other side of the magic image unconsciously straightened his body, and his sleepy eyes became sharp. This was the first time the boy had contacted him since his return, and it seemed that there was going to be a big move.
"I order you to extract half of the scouts from the front line to fully investigate the whereabouts of the Viletooth tribe."
"Yes! Commander!".
Although he had some doubts, Sador still firmly replied. Compared to Lusk, he was more like a soldier.
