#204 - A Day in the Life of Comrade Kima (Part 2)
At 9 AM, Kima, his hands covered in blood, walked out of Camp 33 with satisfaction. Behind him followed a group of obsequious supervisors and foremen.
Just now, during a routine inspection, Kima discovered a slave riot in Camp 33. Although the small-scale riot had been suppressed by the camp's supervisors, the slaves' emotions were extremely unstable. Naturally, Kima wouldn't allow such instability to take root. So, he personally 'taught a lesson' to the supervisors and foremen.
Taking the handkerchief from a supervisor, he wiped the bloodstains from his body and said to the supervisor:

"In the future, don't show mercy in such situations. If you catch the ringleaders, beat them to death."
Looking down at the trembling supervisor, a bloodthirsty smile appeared on Kima's lips.
"Do you know what to do next time?"
"I... I know," the supervisor said tremulously, but before he could finish, a size sixty boot came kicking. The supervisor staggered and fell to the ground. Before he could get up, Kima stepped on his chest.
"Idiot! I don't want a yes-man! I want a cadre who can think independently and stand alone. If there's a next time, you know what the result will be!"
Grabbing the supervisor's collar, Kima leaned close to his ear, the one eye flashing with cold light. He whispered:
"I'll only say this once. In the future, when you encounter such troublemakers, not only should you drag them in front of all the slaves and beat them, but you must also remember one thing: never enrage all the slaves, never! Privately, you must win over the majority of obedient ones and suppress the very few who are beyond control! This will minimize the slaves' resistance, and such childish riots will no longer occur. Got it?"
Releasing the supervisor, who was nodding like a pecking chicken, Kima's originally icy face suddenly softened, and a hint of a smile appeared on his lips.
Walking to the group of foremen who were silently bowing their heads, Kima patted them on the shoulders one by one, encouraging them with words like 'Work hard,' 'The future is promising,' and 'Brother will find you a wife in the future,' as if they were free.
The effect of the appeasement was obvious. These foremen, who had been in low spirits and full of fear, became excited as if they had been injected with chicken blood after eating the pie Kima had drawn.
After appeasing the foremen, Kima came to the supervisor again, took out three beautiful tickets with gold and red borders, and stuffed them into the hands of the timid-looking supervisor.
"Take your wife and children to the Grand Theater this week. This is the latest thing Master El has developed. What's it called? Ah, yes, it's called a movie.
Also, don't be like a woman and disappoint me! You can't be careless at work, but we're still friends in private."
Pulling up the supervisor who was kneeling on the ground, Kima laughed heartily and patted the dust off him.
After a long while, the supervisor watched Kima gradually disappear, and then looked at the three tickets in his hand with the words 'Workers' Grand Theater' written on them. Suddenly, he burst into tears.
"Master Kima..."
The other foremen all looked enviously at the tickets in the supervisor's hand, and began to whisper.
"Master Kima is really a good person. He just gave away these three movie tickets!"
"Who says not? These are movie tickets worth 5 gold coins each, which can顶咱们半年 的 ‘工资’ 呢!"
"Hey, the supervisor is really lucky. I just don't know when I can be promoted to a second-class citizen..."
The supervisor, who was standing there in a daze, was interrupted by the gossip coming from behind, which made him suddenly become furious.
"You don't need to work, do you! I think you bastards are living too comfortably. Get back to work! If I find out that there's a problem in anyone's area, I'll take his head off and use it as a ball!"
After being inexplicably reprimanded by the supervisor, the foremen no longer lingered, and all went back to the camp in disgrace to continue their work.
But unlike before, the work enthusiasm of these originally slack foremen actually became high.
Looking at the shining movie tickets in his hand, the supervisor's tears flowed down again.
"Master Kima, I will definitely live up to your expectations and become your right-hand man, and rebuild our new clan."
At 11:30 AM, Kima walked out of the camp again. This was the 50th camp he had inspected, and also the last one.
He stretched wearily, rummaged through his empty pockets, and revealed a smug smile.
"All 100 movie tickets have been sent out, but these bumpkins are too easy to fool. These things that should have belonged to them can actually make them feel grateful."
Kima laughed wildly, but as time passed, the smile on his face gradually solidified, and large beads of sweat slid down his originally radiant face.
"Master El knew that these internal movie tickets were free, but he didn't ask and gave them to me. This... this... could it be that he already knew what I was going to do with these movie tickets? Hiss..."
The more Kima thought about it, the more frightened he became, and the more he felt that the young man had already seen through everything.
From the very beginning of the establishment of the camp, to El entrusting the important task of supervising the camp to Kima, Kima initially only felt that El had not deceived him, and really made him an uncrowned king. His mentality also swelled day by day as time passed.
But the movie tickets were like a loud bell, instantly waking Kima's dream and extinguishing the restless heart.
Sitting dejectedly on a large rock, Kima finally realized his insignificance at this moment.
His own plans, which could not be brought to the table, were like children playing house, all seen by the young man, but he said nothing and did nothing.
But he thought that his wisdom had already been able to rival, or even surpass him. Sometimes he even swelled to the point where he really thought that he had become the king of Hinterlands, the only king.
"Alas..."
Sighing deeply, the troll stood up with a look of frustration. Compared to the inner decadence, the physical fatigue seemed to be nothing.
Kima walked into the staff cafeteria like a walking corpse, not even hearing the greetings from the people next to him.
After eating a tasteless lunch, Kima finally recovered from the frustration.
"A puppet king is also a king, better than those slaves who can't even get enough to eat."
...
After lunch, Kima became the smooth and sophisticated jack-of-all-trades again.
But his mentality had undergone earth-shattering changes, and the rebellious heart buried in his bones was completely extinguished.
...
El's Light Base, Mage Tower 16th floor.
In the lush, verdant training grounds, reminiscent of an ancient forest, Aier and his group were gathered around a giant, crimson egg, gesturing and discussing something.
Anslem, Elan, and Kael'thas each held a notebook, rapidly recording information and occasionally exchanging experiences.
Romance and Kael'thas each held a strange device, circling the giant egg and constantly testing data.
After a long while, Kael'thas and Romance, drenched in sweat, took a deep breath and said in unison.
"Mentor, there are no problems. The data from this test is all normal."
"Experiment Name - Loa Rebirth Project, Experiment 133, commence!"
At Aier's command, everyone put down their work and gathered around the giant egg, extending their hands.
"Begin!"
In an instant, a surge of magical energy spread out, and thick, black veins began to appear on the crimson giant egg.
"Pay attention to your own mana input. Everyone, prepare for the first synchronization."
Noticing the giant egg beginning to tremble, Aier decisively shouted loudly. The others also noticed the significant abnormality, and the three with the least experience broke out in cold sweats.
"Synchronization, begin!"
"Buzz..."
A chain of azure blue appeared out of thin air. This chain first wrapped around Aier's chest, then Kael'thas, Romance... until all five of them were bound together by the chain.

The originally chaotic mana fluctuations also became smooth the moment the chain bound everyone together.
"Very good, minimum frequency input."
Looking at the giant egg gradually stopping its trembling, the trio breathed a sigh of relief.
Five minutes later, Aier's voice sounded again.
"Switch from low-frequency input to medium-frequency input, prepare for the second energy synchronization!"
...
Again and again, synchronizing, the mana input by everyone became more and more immense, until "Bang!" A loud noise rang out, and the giant egg, which had been perfectly normal, exploded like a rotten tomato in everyone's regretful gazes.
"Record."
Hearing Aier's words, the trio, covered in sweat, hurriedly pulled out their notebooks and began to record frantically.
Aier's expression did not change at all, but the careful Kael'thas still noticed the clue from the young man's slightly raised eyebrows.
"Mentor..."
Kael'thas wanted to say something, but Aier waved his hand to interrupt him.
"Don't waste time. You and Romance check to see what went wrong."
After speaking, Aier squatted on the ground, picking through the remains of the giant egg, finding a golden crystal, and carefully examining it.
Half a month ago, Aier used meticulous planning and traps to kill Hakkar's avatar, who was once invincible, and obtained relatively intact 'experimental materials'. Compared to Hiss (the three-headed serpent of the Dark Abyss) who possessed Aku'mai and Shadra, who was a pure energy body, Hakkar's avatar was undoubtedly more valuable for research.
In half a month, Aier had extracted the pseudo-divine flesh essence of Hiss (Aku'mai). Unfortunately, he did not detect anything of value other than the flesh essence in that avatar.
Although very frustrated, the hundreds of tons of divine flesh (pseudo) were already the most precious legacy of Hiss.
Next was Hakkar's avatar. Aier, along with Kael'thas and the others, discovered after half a month of research that Hakkar's situation was no different from Hiss. The only difference was that the flesh essence of this avatar was much more abundant than that of Hiss.
Just as the group was about to give up, the careful Aier found a golden crystal in Hakkar's head.
After some exploration, Aier discovered that the consciousness in this golden crystal had been extinguished, and in an accidental experiment, Aier once again made a new discovery.
As long as energy is output to this golden crystal, the crystal will undergo a wonderful change.
With the injection of energy, the golden crystal will become more and more full. After reaching a critical point, the exterior of the crystal will gradually form a flesh membrane, until it becomes a crimson giant egg exactly like Hakkar's egg.
Aier boldly guessed that this golden crystal was the key to "reviving" Hakkar, and also the key for him to glimpse all the secrets of the blood god Loa!
Thus, under the tireless research of the group day and night, black blood vessels finally formed on the outside of the giant egg, but the results of the experiment also stopped there, with no further progress.
...
"Mentor..."
Kael'thas stood behind Aier, hesitating to speak.
"Are there any results?"
The young man held the golden crystal and stood up, seriously facing the prince.
His Highness the Prince shook his head helplessly, his eyes full of disappointment. Romance, who was standing aside, was also full of frustration.
"I'm sorry, Mentor, we have held you back. If we could enter the legendary realm, then the number of synchronizations might not need..."
Elan and the other two came to Aier's side with guilty expressions, saying dejectedly.
"It's not a problem of synchronization. I always feel like something is missing. What exactly is it?"
Interrupting the self-blaming trio, Aier pondered hard, until the communication stone in his arms began to heat up.
"Lord Aier, is that Lord Aier?"
A shrill voice rang out, and everyone gathered around Aier frowned. Someone dared to disturb the mentor at this critical moment, which made them very angry.
"It's me."
In contrast, Aier was very calm. Years of research had cultivated a state of mind that was indifferent to honor and disgrace. Even if he had failed more than one hundred and thirty times, it could not shake him in the slightest.
"That's great, I finally got in touch with you. I haven't seen you for so many days, I miss you so much? Have you eaten? How have you been recently? I've lost several pounds since I haven't seen you recently..."
Aier, indifferent to honor and disgrace: … Where's my knife?
PS: First of all, I want to apologize to the lords who are still following the updates without abandoning me.
Because of the author's work, it's already late when I get home. In addition, some unexpected factors (such as overtime socializing...) have made the recent updates relatively poor. Several times I didn't get home until around 11 o'clock, and I had to get up at 7 o'clock the next day. In order to get full attendance, the author had to copy the original chapters to make up the minimum number of words for the minimum guarantee, and then wait until the next day when I had time to modify it. This has formed a vicious circle, but the author does not dare to sacrifice rest time to code, after all, I am getting older and my body can't bear it.
The next chapter will probably not have time to code, so I can only copy it first, and then modify it tomorrow. After coding this chapter, it's about 11:30, but fortunately, tomorrow is Friday, and I can code with peace of mind after get off work. It doesn't matter if I stay up late, I should add more updates if there are no social activities on Saturday and Sunday.
Finally, I sincerely apologize to the lords again.
