Azeroth Monster Manual
#51 - The Secret of Violet Hold
Violet Citadel, Antonidas' office.
"That bastard, waste, why didn't he unite with Alphamail to give that damn elf a fatal blow? K'sirim is not worth regretting his death, but he made this winning game a shameful failure, damn it… damn it."
Antonidas roared furiously, the documents on the desk were torn to shreds, falling like snow, and fragments of vases and undried ink were scattered on the ground.
Krasus sat leisurely on the wicker chair, with his legs crossed. There was a thin layer of arcane energy around him, blocking the books and office supplies flying around.
This elegant elf even took a sip of the fragrant coffee, then casually took out his diary and began to write and draw.
Modera stood tremblingly in place, a small bump visibly swelling on her snow-white forehead, but she knew the Speaker's temper and dared not dodge.
Modera lowered her head slightly, admiring Krasus out of the corner of her eye with envy.
She didn't know if Krasus came from Silvermoon City like Kael'thas, but it is said that the elf's arrival in Kirin Tor can even be traced back to the era of the first Guardian Alodi. Can high elves really live that long?
"Krasus, I need your help."
Antonidas gasped, suppressing his anger, and said sincerely.
"Don't we have an agreement? Speaker Antonidas, I don't want to participate in this boring game."
Krasus took a sip of coffee, not even raising his head as he spoke.
"This game is very important to me, to Kirin Tor. If this game cannot be won…"
Antonidas regained his composure and said with some worry, completely losing the imposing manner he had when he first appeared.
"The desires of mortals are like demons. If you exchange chips with demons, then this curse will continue endlessly until the end of life and the annihilation of the soul."
Krasus closed his book, his lazy expression turning serious.
Modera was confused. She recognized all the common language the elven mage spoke, but when put together, she didn't understand what he was saying at all.
"Please!"
Modera covered her mouth in surprise. The always proud Speaker actually lowered his noble head and bowed to Krasus.
"Let me think about it…"
Krasus frowned, as if thinking about something.
After a long time, under Antonidas' hopeful gaze, the elven mage sighed heavily.
He said helplessly:
"I will only use the strength of a Magister level, Antonidas. After this time, I only owe Kirin Tor one last favor. You must consider it carefully."
"Okay!"
Antonidas agreed without thinking, and his originally furrowed face relaxed.
"Okay, Krasus, let us meet our new teammates."
Antonidas put his arm affectionately around the elf's shoulders and walked towards the door. Modera hurriedly followed.
In the dark and damp Violet Hold, the most evil and dangerous criminals in all of Azeroth are imprisoned here. Of course, this is Kirin Tor's self-proclaimed title. It is said that some special prisoners are also imprisoned in this prison.
Legend has it that these prisoners do not come from the Eastern Kingdoms, or are not even creatures of Azeroth.
But the people are willing to believe that this is just an urban legend to scare children, because no guard has ever seen those terrifying criminals.
The sound of footsteps was clearly audible in the silent and gloomy prison.
Modera trembled and grabbed the staff behind her with one hand. The environment here was really eerie, scaring this greenhouse flower who had not experienced any storms.
"Ah!"
Modera screamed and grabbed Krasus' sleeve.
The elven mage helplessly released a Light spell, and the girl could see what those wet things on the ground were.
It turned out that the water stains on the ground were seeping out of the walls of a sealed cell.
The female mage suppressed her fear and reached out to touch the seeping wall.
"Stop, Modera, the guy in the cell is not someone you can deal with."
Antonidas slapped away the slender hand that was about to touch the wall and said sternly.
"Yes… yes."
Modera seemed to have just come back to her senses and quickly retracted her hand. Just now, for a moment, her body seemed to want to touch that wall uncontrollably.
Feeling a chill, the female mage simply cast a Mind Block on herself. This 6-ring spell can effectively block those evil psychic spells and charm spells.
"Cheer up."
Antonidas instructed again.
Time passed, and under Antonidas' lead, the two finally reached the end of the prison.
Modera was very puzzled, but after what had just happened, she had no intention of asking, and just cautiously looked around.
Taking out a transparent gem with the Violet Citadel emblem, Antonidas began to chant a spell.
The originally hard wall slowly twisted and gradually disappeared in the spell, and a corridor emitting a putrid smell appeared in front of the three.
After the three entered the corridor, the cells on both sides made ear-piercing laughter and creepy wall-scraping sounds.
Modera was a little scared, but seeing that Speaker Antonidas and Krasus had all entered, she had no choice but to bite the bullet and follow.
"Slurp… meat… tender skin and flesh, Jem is hungry."
Modera accidentally dropped the magic wand in her hand, and the faint light flashing on the magic wand illuminated a corner of the cell next to her. With a clang, it was the sound of shackles and iron bars colliding.
Modera saw the black shadow in the cell. She covered her mouth, trying hard not to make a sound.
It was a gnoll, but obviously not an ordinary gnoll. The body, which was originally only half the height of a human, was a full 4-5 meters tall.
The foul-smelling fangs were scattered and sparse, and the sparse hair was stained with green corrosive energy.
Modera trembled and looked carefully, and found that only the recurved arch of the foot and the towering sideburns could tell that this monster was originally a gnoll.
"Fel… Fel energy, Kirin Tor is actually using fel energy for experiments…"
Modera muttered to herself in disbelief, until Antonidas called her name, then she reacted.
"Speaker… that gnoll…"
Modera walked quickly to Antonidas and asked hesitantly.
"It's just a small experiment targeting fel energy, don't make such a fuss, my dear councilwoman."
Antonidas regained his amiable demeanor and gently comforted the female mage.
"But… but I found from the classics left by Archmage Alodi…"
"Discovered those demons from ten thousand years ago? Don't be silly, Modera, that's too far away from us, no one knows if it's true…"
Antonidas seemed to recall and affirm himself as he continued:
"Thousands of years of misuse of magic have already taught us humans enough lessons. Those extraterrestrial visitors are the best proof.
Although we Dalaran have built the Violet Hold Barrier, we must be prepared for danger in times of peace. In order to prevent problems before they occur, we also need to understand our enemies and defeat them with the enemy's weapons. The research on fel energy is imminent."
Antonidas said seriously.
"But… but."
Modera wanted to argue, but was interrupted by Antonidas' angry shout.
"Fool! Our cause is just!"
…
Krasus was silent. The fel gnoll made him wary, but recalling the favor he owed Kirin Tor, he decided to remain silent.
"When this is all over, I will go back and report to Her Majesty the Queen."
The elf sighed and stopped dwelling on it.
Perhaps this little episode made the three lose their desire to chat. They all remained silent and quickened their pace.
"Here."
Antonidas stood in front of a prison door.
"Beep crack beep crack" A strange noise sounded from the cell.
"Is there any dirty work again… dear Speaker."
A strange common language with a heavy nasal tone sounded, and the black shadow in the cell gradually became clear.
