Baby Pharmacist Princess
Chapter 8.1
On the White Night Palace, where the Emperor Baikal resides.
This is a three-story building.
So, there is no fourth floor.
First of all, let’s talk about it.
It wasn’t there before Baikal was old enough to use a dragon heart to make a magical space as the fourth floor.
Inside, a huge amount of jewels, paintings, and sculptures are displayed, all divided into five levels.
In the first level, there are a lot of different things, like ornaments and fabrics.
It’s possible to see works of art that will change the whole history of art.
Only people who lived near Baikal knew about the fourth floor. Sollip and Sophia were two of them.
Well, he didn’t want to admit it, but if he included his troublesome sons who broke through on their own, maybe it would be about eight people.
Because Baikal had a great desire to collect stuff, giving away anything there was a very big deal.
“Come to think of it, there are jewels in it that I was going to give to Kyena. In the end, I couldn’t do it.”
“I remember too. It was a long time ago.”
“……Yes.”
Baikal’s voice grew heavy.
The age gap between Baikal and Kyena was huge.
Because Kyena was born when Baikal was fifteen.
Naturally, he did not know how to treat the child, and their meetings were always awkward.
To be precise, Kyena liked him, but Baikal avoided her.
“Brother, let’s play together!”
Her face still comes to mind as if it were only yesterday that he saw her.
However, at that time, he had difficulty controlling his growing power, so he was afraid that he might injure Kyena.
He avoided her and stayed away from her.
And by the time Kyena was six years old, Baikal at the age of twenty who ascended to the throne, began collecting small things to give to his youngest sister.
That was why the fourth floor was created.
Whenever he saw something cute and pretty, he brought it along and kept it secretly.
However, while contemplating whether to collect more or give it immediately, Kyena turned fifteen and left the Imperial Palace.
“Even if we didn’t get along well at the castle, I still wanted to give it to her. She would have liked it.”
His murmur was tinged with regret.
Maybe that’s how it was supposed to end.
As soon as he received the last letter from Kyena, he ran frantically to where she was.
And what he saw there…
“Ugh.”
“Sir, are you okay?”
Suddenly, a strong headache shook him as if his head was going to split.
Baikal paid attention to the beating of his dragon heart, which was thumping with a frown on his face.
Something is blocking his memory.
A magic stronger than his power.
No matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t remember it clearly.
“I guess you still don’t remember.”
“Yes. It was cut out entirely for that day.”
After a while, Sollip brought him a drink and a towel.
In fact, until three days ago, Baikal was imprisoned.
It’s not a metaphorical expression, it literally happened.
And the confinement had something to do with Cherise.
Cherise’s mother, Kyena, died quietly in the countryside.
When Baikal heard the news that his youngest sister, who had been weak since childhood, had died, he hurriedly went down to the countryside.
And there, Baikal witnesses ‘that’.
Something he probably shouldn’t see.
So he ran rampant and lost his reason.
In the end, only the Emperor Leo* was able to stop him.
*TL/N: I just want to clarify about this. His name is mentioned in the former chapter, he is mentioned as the first emperor, I thought he died already so his name would never be mentioned again. The literal translation of his name is Larehorde/Rarehorde which sounds super weird and I gave up trying to make his name more natural before. He’s presumably an immortal since the former chapter said he served for 150 years. It will probably be explained soon. Ah, we’ll just call him Leo for now.
After that, Baikal was imprisoned somewhere far from the imperial palace.
As a member of the royal family, it was a punishment for inflicting damage to the people, but the reason could not be released to the outside world.
Also, all memories of that day disappeared from Baikal’s mind.
It’s not the aftermath of his rampage.
Because he keeps having weird feelings in his heart.
It was clear that someone else’s power was blocking some of his memories.
As soon as he was released, he returned to the Imperial Palace. He went to see Cherise to fulfill the request that Kyena had left him in a letter.
The second reason was because he wanted to find out what the lost memory fragments were.
He wondered if seeing Cherise’s face would bring back memories, but unfortunately that wasn’t the case.
But one thing became clear.
Cherise did not live happily.
“Kyena’s last letter told me to take good care of her daughter. Have you checked it?”
“I have checked the authenticity of the letter dozens more times, but it still appears to be genuine. Kyena’s energy still hasn’t disappeared from the letters.”
The Castalian royals pour out the power of the dragon heart when writing letters or documents.
That’s why it was possible to determine the authenticity.
