Becoming an immortal against the will of heaven

#1046 - Chapter 1046 The Four Sacred Beasts

Beside the eerie turtle monster, three more monsters had appeared.

One of them was a snow-white giant tiger, its smooth fur shimmering with crystalline white light, both sacred and noble. Yet, even so, its ferocious eyes and blood-reeking maw, constantly emitting angry roars, inspired awe and fear.

To the left of this white giant tiger was a massive red bird, its entire body ablaze with scorching flames. Its eyes, surrounded by firelight, revealed a chilling coldness. This exchange of heat and cold gave one the sensation of being in a world of both ice and fire.

As for the last monster, it was a long, colossal dragon. Its five claws gripped the ground, its body covered in green scales. Its lantern-like eyes coldly stared at Chen Tian, as if it had already marked him as its prey.

Four monsters, four different forms: an odd turtle, a snow-white tiger, a burning firebird, and a colossal azure dragon.

Legend has it that each of the Four Sacred Beasts possessed extraordinary power, each capable of overturning rivers and seas, turning the world upside down. However, Chen Tian never imagined that these Four Sacred Beasts would appear here.

Calming down, Chen Tian looked at these giant monsters again, finally realizing that they were not corporeal entities, but rather in the form of souls.

In other words, their physical bodies had long since perished, and after being refined, they became the weapon spirits within these longbows.

The Black Tortoise was the weapon spirit of the smallest bow; the White Tiger, the weapon spirit of the five-zhang longbow beside it; the Vermilion Bird, the weapon spirit of the ten-zhang longbow on the right; and finally, the Azure Dragon was the weapon spirit of the largest longbow in the center.

However, even as souls, their aura had not diminished in the slightest. As soon as they appeared, they roared incessantly at Chen Tian.

Their voices were louder than thunder in the sky. Their angry roars caused the entire mountain to shake, and some loose rocks were directly shattered, falling in front of Chen Tian.

Surrounded by these roars, Chen Tian felt like a lone boat sailing in a storm, his body involuntarily swaying from side to side, as if unable to withstand the immense pressure.

When the Four Sacred Beasts saw Chen Tian in this state, a fierce light flashed in their eyes, and they all charged forward, opening their blood-reeking maws, intending to swallow Chen Tian whole.

Although disheveled, Chen Tian was still closely watching the movements of these monsters. Seeing them charge at him, Chen Tian gritted his teeth and hurriedly retreated, dragging his heavy body backward.

Just then, the Four Sacred Beasts pounced in front of Chen Tian, their giant mouths open, about to bite him.

“Hmph!”

At this moment, Chen Tian had completely calmed down. He coldly snorted, then lightly parted his lips and began chanting a series of profound incantations.

Instantly, the four longbows behind the Four Sacred Beasts began to shine with a hazy golden light. Then, thick chains shot out from the longbows, wrapping around the massive bodies of the Four Sacred Beasts at an extremely fast speed.

These chains were not only thick but also carried strands of lightning. As soon as they wrapped around the bodies of the Four Sacred Beasts, they shocked their souls, causing them to emit wisps of green smoke. Their originally fierce aura immediately weakened and dimmed.

The moment the Black Tortoise, Vermilion Bird, and White Tiger were entangled by the chains, they stopped in their tracks, constantly rolling on the ground, as if trying to dispel the pain.

As for the Azure Dragon, the largest of them all, it endured the pain and charged another zhang towards Chen Tian. Its giant blood-reeking maw was less than a foot away from Chen Tian's face, about to bite him and tear him apart.

In an instant, the situation plunged into a great crisis.

However, facing all of this, Chen Tian was not as flustered as before. Instead, he calmed down, his eyes flashing rapidly. He continued to chant a series of obscure incantations.

At the same time, the chains wrapped around the Azure Dragon's body erupted with even more intense lightning, causing it to no longer care about pouncing on Chen Tian. It also fell to the ground and began to roll around.

The Sacred Beasts were all quite large, and their rolling immediately caused the surroundings to shake like an earthquake.

Seeing the Four Sacred Beasts in such pain, Chen Tian's expression remained unchanged. He raised his hands and began to condense a series of completely different incantations from before, striking them on their bodies.

As soon as these incantations were cast, they were like shackles, firmly binding the massive bodies of the Four Sacred Beasts.

The Four Sacred Beasts seemed unwilling to submit and began to struggle with their last bit of strength, on the verge of breaking free.

However, Chen Tian ignored all of this, closed his eyes, and cast the incantations at an increasingly faster speed. Soon, there were thousands of shackles on the bodies of the Four Sacred Beasts, firmly imprisoning their massive bodies.

Only then did Chen Tian suddenly open his eyes, finally stopping the movements in his hands, and shouted, “Beasts, get back to where you belong!”

As soon as he finished speaking, a dazzling spiritual light bloomed from the shackles, dragging the massive bodies of the Four Sacred Beasts and flying them towards the longbows.

Although extremely unwilling, the Four Sacred Beasts had no strength to struggle under the confinement of these shackles and chains. They could only obediently be pulled into the longbows, eventually transforming back into the appearance of bowstrings.

Seeing this scene, Chen Tian's body felt as if it had lost all its strength. He instantly collapsed to the ground, panting heavily, as if that moment had exhausted all the strength in his body.

However, even so, Chen Tian secretly felt fortunate in his heart, because the jade ruyi left by Spiritual Lord Shangzun not only recorded the location of the treasure-filled cave but also recorded in detail how to control the Xuanyuan Bow.

In his moment of urgency, Chen Tian immediately recalled this part of the information, which allowed him to reseal them all.

Otherwise, Chen Tian would have already become food in the mouths of the Four Sacred Beasts.

Looking back now, all of this was truly extremely dangerous!
