Billionaire's Gift
Chapter 201 I Know Her Best
On the way to work
Nathan played a song called 'the actress' in the car, making the atmosphere a little depressing.
The words of the song were, in fact, "I'm the only person watching the stage. I can see that you're a little sad." Even though the song was depressing, it had a soothing, soulful rhythm to it, which Mandy couldn't help humming to. Her voice was also a little sad.
Nathan looked slightly down at Mandy from under his sunglasses, wondering what this silly woman was thinking about.
"What did Nacy talk to you about last night?" Nathan asked as he turned off the music.
"Nothing much. We were just chatting casually," Mandy answered before she turned her head and looked out of the window. She felt a little guilty and didn't want to talk about the topic of Bruce with Nathan.
"Nacy is my sister, and I know her better than anyone," Nathan said in a pleased and confident tone, grinning from ear to ear.
'Oh! Nacy had already told me about Bruce, and she said not to mention it to Nathan! Probably, she had already told him as well!' Mandy thought inwardly.
Mandy gradually turned her head from looking outside and looked at Nathan gravely.
She didn't know what to say at first, so her mouth was just left open. She then bit her rosy lips and wondered whether Nathan would be angry if she talked about Bruce.
After thinking about it for a while, Mandy made up her mind, to tell the truth about what she knew. At this point in their relationship, she almost had zero reservations with Nathan. She had the utmost trust in him, but even then, she didn't want to tell him about Daniel.
The main reason why she was hesitant to tell Nathan was that Daniel was Mandy's first love. And, as everyone knows, the first love is the hardest.
Since Mandy's relationship with Daniel had ended a long time ago, it was better not to talk about those things from the past. Besides, Daniel was abroad now. Mandy didn't know where he was, nor when he would return, but she did know that he was alright.
However, Bruce was different. Bruce loved Mandy, but Nacy loved him. Therefore, their relationships was quite awkward.
"Nathan, I'm just friends with Bruce," Mandy explain
ear, her memory becomes weaker and shorter," Nathan said as he raised his eyebrows, with no expression in his eyes.
"Really?" Mandy couldn't help but frown. As a doctor, she had only heard of cases of selective amnesia, but she had never heard of a case where the memory would worsen in a certain season.
"I learned this from the past investigation. Lillian was sold to a casino when she was very young, and she had a miserable life. She was married to a man who was a violent husband. Three years ago, Lillian had a car accident. Since that car accident, her memory often has problems. She remembered that she had a son and sometimes remembered her daughter. And sometimes she would say that her husband sold her to the casino again," Nathan explained gravely. The look on his face was dark and solemn. One could see a deep sadness.
Mandy turned her head and looked out of the window again. Oh, that's it. Lillian had a son. Last month, Lillian told me that she had a daughter, and her daughter was diagnosed with leukemia at the age of seventeen. It was really Lillian having confusion with her memory.
"Wow, how sad this is for her!" Mandy sighed. Looking at Nathan's handsome face, Mandy frowned slightly.
"Lillian can remember everything except her past life, so she is suffering from a memory confusion disorder. Has she ever told you that her daughter suffered from leukemia?" Nathan asked as he drove carefully with a grim smile on his cold face.
