The odd look on Fiona's face was not lost on Ethon. So he paused and then asked calmly, "Nana, what's wrong? Aren't you happy?"

"Oh, no, it's not that. I'm fine." Despite all the delicious food in front of her, she still didn't have an appetite.

"Then why don't you eat? These are your favorite." Ethon smiled gently. The two of them hadn't seen each other in days. He couldn't help but feel that Fiona was being cold and distant to him.

Upon hearing this, Fiona kept silent for a while. She was thinking if she should tell Ethon the truth—that she was pregnant. She hadn't given it much thought yet.

"Ethon... I..." She seemed hesitant, visibly perplexed.

"What's wrong? Nana, just tell me what you want to say. I'll do anything as long as it's not breaking up with you." Ethon narrowed his eyes as he stared at her solemnly. Inwardly, he braced himself for what she was going to say.

Fiona curled her lips. 'Ethon is a good man, and he treats me well. What am I worrying about anyway?' she thought to herself.

Maybe, she was just afraid of Ethon's mother.

"Well..." Fiona lowered her head and continued in a soft tone, "I... If I tell you that you're going to be a father, what would you do?"

Ethon suddenly froze. He looked at Fiona in disbelief. He hesitated for a while and then faltered, "Is... Is that true?"

She raised her head shyly and looked straight into Ethon's deep eyes. She couldn't help but be mesmerized as they looked beautiful like the stars in the night sky. He looked back at her expectantly and smiled. He looked handsome as joy filled his face.

"Yes, it's true. I'm pregnant, which means you're going to be a father." Fiona pressed her lips together. Although she wasn't ready to be a mother just yet, she was happy to see that Ethon was overjoyed at the news.

"Come to my apartment and live with me, okay?" Ethon asked tentatively.

She shook her head and said, "No, I don't think that's a good idea for now. Until your mother accepts me, I don't think I should show myself to her for the time being. Besides, Adrian's really sick. I'm worried about him. If I stay in the hospital and accompany Mandy, I can help out a bit."

Ethon couldn't help but think how close Mandy and Fiona were—the bond between sisters was truly impenetrable.

Fiona valued her family a lot, and it showed in her actions.

"You're pregnant now. If you go to the hospital and help out in taking care of Adrian, won't that tire you out too much?" He was certain that he could convince Monica to accept Fiona. Now the only thing that he was worried about was Fiona's health.
