There was nothing else she could do, and that made her feel like a useless mother.

Those thoughts had always haunted Mandy. She did not know what else to do.

The fear of losing a child left her petrified.

That day would bring despair into Mandy's life. After all, she had carried Adrian inside her for nine months.

Her mind was a complete throbbing mess. Until suddenly, someone hugged her tightly from behind. Nathan put his palm on Mandy's head as he held the girl across the waist. "Mand, don't think too much, okay? I'm here with you," he said.

Mandy sported a dispirited frown. She did her best to smile as she said, "I will surely try my best. I have to be brave for Adrian—whatever happens to him."

Nathan intently studied Mandy's expression, his dark eyes narrowed. She somehow changed into an entirely new person in an instant. Her eyes began to glow, and she no longer looked dull. Nathan realized that Mandy was truly trying her best.

"I will always be by your side, dear." Nathan hugged her even more tightly, before letting her go and then turning her around. Looking at Mandy as a whole, Nathan saw her body shaking slightly.

Mandy pressed her lips together and did not say a word. It seemed like she no longer wanted to talk.

Nathan's heart was utterly broken. He never wanted to see his wife in that state. He held Mandy in his arms and whispered, "Don't worry about it, okay?" Nathan did his best to be a reassuring husband. "Are you tired, Mandy? If so, then let's have a little rest first," Nathan said further.

Mandy stubbornly shook her head. She just didn't want to go to bed at the moment. In reality, she would rather spend the day waiting inside the lab.

Staying was the only thing that

owed his dark eyes as sharp, bright light gleamed in them. Seeing how unkempt Mandy was, he further dreaded the business trip.

"M.Pure?" Mandy frowned in confusion.

"Yes, dear. 'M' stands for Mandy. This cosmetic line includes a wide range of products. It has been in development for three years now," Nathan explained, hoping to somehow ease the heaviness in the atmosphere.

"Wait, M.Pure? I have seen and used those at home!" Mandy was dumbfounded. Her eyes suddenly brightened and she began to smile.

"Yes, you finally pieced it together. The stuff I put on your dressing table are from our brand—both the makeup and skin care products." Nathan reached out his hand. With a doting look, he held Mandy in his arms. He actually didn't expect her to figure it out this late.

Mandy had never needed to worry about anything ever since she was married. Sometimes, she would be surprised to see new clothes in her wardrobe, especially because she still had many unused items. Every season, Nathan would buy clothes for both of them, which were all usually designer brands. Many young girls adored her outfits whenever she walked out on the streets.
