"Isn't that how all TV series play, Mom? Stay in a hospital long enough, and then die," Adrian said naively.

Mandy was puzzled by Adrian's logic. 'Where does this kid get those thoughts?' she wondered to herself. Mandy knew that she needed to correct her son's thinking. Those thoughts seemingly added stress to the kid.

"Adrian, don't be silly. Not everything you see on TV is true. You will recover soon enough, do you understand?" Mandy touched Adrian's smooth face. She could hardly breathe as her heart grew heavier. Hearing what Adrian had said, the woman felt like she could die.

With gleaming eyes, the child weakly asked, "Really, Mom?"

"Of course, it's true, honey! Have I ever lied to you before?" Mandy said reassuringly. She was hoping to cheer up the poor boy with her sincere smile.

Fiona turned around to hide her tears. She knew how difficult it was for a mother to see her child suffering from a serious sickness.

Adrian nodded slowly. His eyes grew brighter, but his voice was noticeably softer. The boy felt no pain at all. He weakly said, "Mom, I want to sleep."

Mandy frowned as she stared at Adrian's vital signs. After a moment, she calmed down and said, "Okay, you can sleep, dear. I'll be here with you!"

The atmosphere in the ward had been filled with melancholy lately. Fiona and Mandy just sat together in silence. Fiona simply made sure that her sister took care of herself. She often gave Mandy a glass of water.

At around half past eight in the morning, Mandy accompanied Fiona to get Monica's lab results.

Mandy greeted the director as they entered the laboratory. The director immediately asked someone to fetch Monica's lab results.

But after some time, a young nurse ran up to them and said, "The patient had taken away her results yester

ghteousness had broken the heart of many nurses who admired him.

Those days, everyone's eyes were on Audrey. She was beautiful as well, and she was adored by many who worked in the hospital. Audrey was actually Leo's protege.

"Who is that woman? She is on such good terms with the director. Is she a relative of his? Did I say something wrong?" the young nurse asked nervously. She pulled the older nurse to the side.

"That is Mandy. You can search her online," the older nurse said with a smirk.

"Is she a star or something?" the young nurse asked, still confused.

"No, she was the director of the hospital's cardiology department three years ago. That was before she married Nathan."

"Alright," the young nurse mumbled. Her face immediately turned pale. She gulped, looking rather innocent and lost. Panic surged over her as she stared at the office with her bright wide eyes.

Sensing how uneasy the intern was, the older nurse patted her on the shoulder and said, "Don't worry. Mandy is a kind person. I do not think she is capable of being mad. But be careful next time, okay? Others would not take these things as lightly as she did."

The young nurse nodded in agreement.
