17. The Trial II

Translator: Alanese Fantasy

Half a month later.

On the training field.

Nan Chen looked at a dozen of lads and maidens in front of him, “Is everybody here?”

“Murong Chi is not here.” A female disciple replied.

Nan Chen frowned and said, “Murong Chi?”

“Yes. He has entered the inner part of the Sect through less than two-year cultivation in the outer part, and he will also participate in this trial.” The same disciple answered again.

Nan Chen glimpsed at her who rang a bell. After thinking for a while, he remembered that she was Liu Xia who had spoken for him ten years ago and had been later accepted as a disciple by the Sect Leader.

“Forget it. We shouldn’t wait any longer. Let’s set off.” Liu Xia said impatiently.

Obviously, she didn’t like Murong Chi.

“Hey, my Junior Sister, how can you leave without waiting for me?”

They looked to where the sound came. It was none other than Murong Chi.

“Bah, who is your Junior Sister?”

“Do you think I want to call you my Junior Sister? The Sect’s rules demand us to call our fellow disciples based on the level of cultivation. Since my cultivation is higher than yours, I can only call you Junior Sister.” Murong Chi said with an innocent expression.

“However, you’d better be my Junior Sister than a Senior Sister.”

“You!” Liu Xia was so annoyed and took a step forward.

Several female disciples beside her quickly grabbed and stopped her.

“Liu Xia, don’t be impulsive. We are not allowed to fight without permission in the Sect.”

“You are making so much noise here! Stop it or go home!”

Having seen the coming person, all the disciples retreated to one side and respectfully said, “Elder Qing Mu.”

Elder Qing Mu walked towards Nan Chen and stopped when he passed Murong Chi, “How can a man haggle with a girl while nagging like an old lady? Don’t you feel ashamed?”

Murong Chi clenched his fists and lowered his head, “It’s my fault, Master.”

Elder Qing Mu went to Nan Chen and looked him up and down, “Mmm, good.”

Such a word said by Elder Qing Mu meant Nan Chen was quite good. It was important to know that there were no more than five people in Muyang Temple who received a remark like that from Elder Qing Mu.

Elder Qing Mu stood by Nan Chen and looked at the ten disciples in front of him. “I am the guide of this trial in charge of taking you to the entrance of the mystery land and waiting for you to finish the trial. Nan Chen will take the lead in this trial. Does anybody have a problem with it?”

“No.” They all said in unison.

Who dared to have a different opinion against Elder Qing Mu? Elder Qing Mu was just asking out of courtesy. Whoever thought that he was really asking for opinions would suffer from a serious consequence.

Moreover, the cultivation of Nan Chen was the highest, so it was reasonable for him to lead the team.

Elder Qing Mu took out a palm-sized flying boat and slowly input spiritual power into it, making the boat become huge in an instant.

When all the disciples got into the boat, the Elder wielded his spiritual power and controlled the boat to fly towards Fu City Mystery Land.

Outside of the Fu City Mystery Land.

Disciples of all sects had almost arrived.

Since the mystery land had been opened, all the sects would naturally come to take advantage of it.

A beam of white light appeared in front of them, and gradually a vague outline of a gate showed up. The gate became clearer, on which ancient patterns could be seen all over.

“Go ahead. I’m waiting for you here. Mark my words, the gate will reopen after a month, and you must come out by then. If you fail to come out, you have to wait another ten years. I hope that every one of you can make it.”

Creak-

The gate opened slowly towards both sides.

When the crack of the opening gate was wide enough to pass a person, a series of shadows rushed into it.

Having seen Nan Chen standing unmoved, a male disciple couldn’t help but ask, “Senior Brother, aren’t we going in yet?”

“Wait a little longer.” There were plenty of traps ahead, and he didn’t want to be someone else’s shield.

“Humph, don’t go if you are afraid.” Murong Chi was already anxious to run into the gate. Watching others get in there was as distressing as seeing treasure falling into others’ pocket.

However, Nan Chen was standing still, so Murong Chi had to wait for his order.

“As Senior Brother said, we must wait. If you hold a different opinion, you just try to be the leader next time. If you can’t, shut your mouth.” Liu Xia was really pissed off by Murong Chi.
