28. The Spiritual Rhinoceros I

Translator: Alanese Fantasy

“That’s true, Xiao Xue. It should exactly belong to us. Why should we give in?”

“Next time, however, when you are in a similar circumstance, you can’t be so hasty. Liu Xia could protect you this time, but nobody will do that in the future.”

“You are right, Senior Brothers.” Having listened to their exhortation, Xiao Xue was well-behaved.

Although Liu Xia looked fine without many wounds, she bore heavy internal injuries and could not walk fast. Therefore, after breakfast, the disciples took turns to carry Liu Xia on their backs, walking towards the exit of the mystery land.

They carried out the practice while exploring the mystery land, killing spiritual beasts or picking medical herbs once in a while. Several days later, the disciples had improved at different levels respectively, and some of them were even close to a breakthrough.

One day, they were walking on the road while picking medical herbs on the roadside.

A burst of fighting accompanied with roars of giant spiritual beasts came from somewhere ahead.

They walked ahead and stopped at where they could catch sight of what was happening.

Through the interstices of the trees, they could see a giant spiritual rhinoceros, which was a spiritual beast of medium-to-high grade, whose sharp horns were as thick as people’s arm. Glowing with glimmer, its horns looked extremely sharp.

If the spiritual rhinoceros slightly stamped its foot, the ground would even shake a bit.

There were three people confronting the spiritual beast.

“Murong Chi!” On hearing the call, the group turned to look carefully at the three people.

It really was Murong Chi. And the rest two people were the disciples who had gone with him that day.

However, Murong Chi and his fellows looked so pathetic. With disheveled hair, they were in nasty clothes covered with many tears, which seemed to be pierced by the sharp horns of the spiritual rhinoceros.

Currently Murong Chi and the other two disciples were no match for that spiritual beast because of its grade. The group didn’t want to help, though.

If they lent a hand, they might end up being smeared that they helped them for some malicious intention.

The group didn’t want to be snubbed despite showing good intentions.

In front, the three people were at daggers drawn with the spiritual beast. Neither side launched the first attack.

Time went by, and the peace was broken by the spiritual rhinoceros for it might run out of patience.

The spiritual rhinoceros shouted towards the sky before pointing its sharp horns at Murong Chi and the other two disciples, charging at them.

Although the spiritual beast was giant, it moved swiftly. After all, it was a high-level beast.

Murong Chi could handle the speedy beast, while the rest two disciples were not as fast as it. They could only make a narrow escape. If they were a bit slower, the spiritual beast would take them down with its heavy feet.

“Senior Brother Murong, what can we do now?” The two disciples asked Murong Chi while panting.

They were too tired and about to be unable to hang in there, but they could not even flee because the spiritual beast was blocking their way.

“What can we do? How do I know? Why were you so idle, even dared to mess with it?” Murong Chi shouted at them.

He wanted to find a way out as well. The other two were dumbass. At first, he planned his fellows could help if they ran into danger. However, they could not help but also caused trouble all the time, and he had to mop up the mess for them.

“We… We didn’t mean to mess with the spiritual beast. It had fallen asleep, lying on the ground with fallen leaves covering its whole body. We thought it was just a hill and wanted to sit on it for a rest.

The two disciples felt aggrieved.

With a sudden shake came from the earth, the spiritual rhinoceros charged at them once again. They hurried to disperse, standing on three different directions.

The beast looked around and finally fixed its eyes on the weakest guy of the three, Lyu Ren. It ran towards Lyu Ren; the latter rolled on the spot and dodged its attack.

The spiritual beast raised its front feet again, stamped towards Lyu Ren, and he could barely escape.

Suddenly, he was caught on the shoulder by someone. And then a force came from his shoulder, pulling him back. He was consequently saved one second before the beast’s feet landed.
