35. Into the Mystery Land III

Translator: Alanese Fantasy

At the same time, Nan Chen encountered a swamp. Bubbling loudly, it was so dark that it seemed to suck people in at any time.

Nan Chen quickly closed his sense of smell and jumped into the swamp.

Around eight minutes later, the Red-White Serpent King followed the trace of Nan Chen and came to the swamp. A strange smell broke into its nose, driving the Serpent King back a mile away.

There was a stench lingering in its nose, which made the Serpent King want to vomit.

Even Nan Chen had to shut his sense of smell before jumping into the swamp, which was tantamount to extreme torture for the Red-White Serpent King because its sense of smell was one thousand times more sensitive than that of human beings.

The Red-White Serpent King coiled itself up in circles, flapping fretfully the ground in front of him with his tail.

Sputter-

Feeling that he had beaten something, the Serpent King moved his tail away and found that a palm-sized insect had been smashed by it, and its green mucus splashed out.

With the familiar smell, the Serpent King slapped the worm away with disgust.

It turned out to be a stinkbug, whose whole body was dark green. It perennially lived in swamps, and its biggest feature was its stinky smell, especially its fart. Most spiritual beasts didn’t want to be near them.

The Serpent King fretfully moved around, without knowing what to do.

Suddenly, something seemed to occur to the Red-White Serpent King, and it stopped all of a sudden.

It lifted its tail, gently flapping on the ground, with its coercion of the beast king spreading around. The stinkbugs in the swamp shivered; all of them emerged from the swamp and quickly escaped like running for their lives.

When the odor dissipated, the Serpent King wormed itself into the swamp and searched for Nan Chen everywhere, but it couldn’t find Nan Chen even though it had searched every corner of the swamp.

“Damn human!” The Red-White Serpent King screamed upwards.

And Nan Chen had already gone out of the swamp with the stinkbugs when they fled.

There were only two days to go before the mystery land reopened; as long as he was not found by the Red-White Serpent King during the period, he would be fine.

The swamp just now was one of the places where they had been to a few days ago. Nan Chen still remembered that a female disciple was so sick of the stink that she even vomited at that time. However, even so, it wouldn’t take long before the Serpent King found him again.

With his hand holding his chin, Nan Chen meditated for a while. Suddenly, he gently lifted the corner of his mouth and ran towards another direction.

‘The Serpent King bears a keen sense of smell, doesn’t it? Then let it enjoy.’

Zhuo Hua came to the place where the soul force finally appeared, and found that the scene was very disastrous. A pit with a radius of 250 meters appeared in the flat earth. The lifeless aura in the pit was in sharp contrast with the outside of it, and all the trees which could be surrounded by more than a dozen people were snapped in the middle.

It seemed that it had been caused by the jade card that Zhuo Hua had given to Nan Chen, and he had no idea how was Nan Chen now.

All of a sudden, there was a strong trace coming from the northeast, and Zhuo Hua looked to that direction.

‘Nan Chen?’

Zhuo Hua came to the place where the strong trace appeared just now, and found that it was just a swamp. There was no living things in it.

‘Looks like I’m a little too late.’

Soon, the same trace appeared in the opposite direction, so Zhuo Hua turned and ran to that direction.

Nan Chen had always led the Red-White Serpent King to the places with either overly stinky or fragrant odors. Smell was the only thing he wanted to find for the Serpent King.

But because the Red-White Serpent King gradually adapted to these smells, the distance between Nan Chen and the Serpent King was getting closer and closer.
