Ceo Unrivaled

Chapter 138 - An Odd Instinct

The group went to their separate ways to make an individual preparation for their plans.

Clark went to hang out with Claire's unit when he received a response from his father, forbidding him to join their plans. But he reasoned that he would only stay in the car and observe the area. With much persistence from his side, his father had no choice and conceded.

"Be sure to stay in your car and tell your driver that the vehicle must be far from the area. This is so foolish! I can't believe I am allowing you this! Hmmph! And if something bad happens to you, young man, I will make sure that your friends will pay for it!" his father stated his condition after realizing that his son had already decided.

"No, we will stay out of trouble dad. We just want to observe some things later," Clark responded.

"What do you mean, stay out of trouble? Have you gone delusional? You and your friends are marching towards trouble, Clark! If you want to stay out of trouble, just go home already!" his father retorted.

"Ahh! But, I don't want to miss this. My friends are coming! I want to come along with them, dad!" Clark repeated.

"Bah! I thought that those friends are decent! It turns out that they are black wolves in sheep's clothing! Now, you are being influenced by them!" Clark's father argued in the other line. His anger was evident in his voice.

There would be no father that would let their son to go to some ridiculous plans that could possibly harm him. His anger had almost evolved to rage when he realized that he could not convince his son to go home.

"Nevermind! It would be a good lesson for you if something happens. Don't cry if you'll get hurt and caught in between the chaos of gang fights!" his father finished and hung up. His voice turned cold as he felt an intense pain pounding in his head.

'I have spoilt that son too much! But maybe, he will see the unpleasant side of the real world and be cautioned about it in the future,' the father firmly thought trying to convince himself of the positive side of Clark's willfulness.

Claire on the other hand, just got the approval of her parents when she told them their plans. She quickly wore a more casual outfit and return to Clark who was just sitting on her Sofa.

"What is your parents' reaction?" Clark inquired after she sat beside him.

"My mother and father somehow supported every decision I make as long as I am not alone. They only told me to take care. How about your father? He was okay with you coming along?" Claire responded.

"Yeah, after a few words, my father agreed," Clark chuckled.

"Cool!" Claire nodded her head and casually check the trends in social media.

"Is it still the same issue? The poll about Sofia and that streamer is still ongoing?" Clark asked her after he saw the mobile screen. It showed seven digits of both sides and agreeing and disagreeing about the poll.

"This streamer is not simple. She actually managed to pull fans on her side despite her dirty tricks!" Claire expressed.

"Nah, I doubt if those people are her fans. Maybe they just want to see drama on social media. And this streamer is giving them the entertainment that they were looking for," Clark shrugged and leaned his head comfortably.

Claire continued scrolling and the two settled in a pleasant silence. After half an hour, Joey turned up and joined the two.

"I think I'll take a small nap at this table, Claire," Joey comfortable prompt his head and leaned on the table. He then closed his eyes and did not bother waiting for Claire to respond.

"You're sleepy at this early hour?" Clark inquired.

"AH, my ex-girlfriend had disturbed me with so many calls last night. I did not get any decent sleep," Joey explained without moving a tiny bit from his position.

Claire looked up and glanced at Joey. Then she shifted her gaze to Clark. "Do you want to take a nap too?" she asked.

"No, I'm fine. I had a great sleep after we left the victory party last night," Clark said and offered a gentle smile at her.

"Mmnn," Claire hummed and smiled back before her attention returned to the social media drama.

While these three were waiting in the apartment, Sofia was also caught in a trance in the class. She could not find her focus on listening to the discussion. Her teacher was discussing non-stop but she only stared blankly in space.

There was a strange sensation that blooms on Sofia's chest that she could not describe. It was a different level of thrill that she had never felt before, even in her past life.

'Am I excited to see gang fights?' she mentally asked trying to evaluate the feeling in her chest. Her class was about to end but her mind was already wandering to their plans of visiting the intersection street downtown.

If it were her in the past, she would totally be the first to oppose a plan like theirs. It was too risky.

Since there was no presence of violence in her past life, she could not relate any real experience of encountering fraternity and gangs. She was sheltered and perfectly protected but with the exemption of her tragic death.

As for the original owner of her body, the young girl never cared about what was happening around her. She only knew violence but only in online games. This young girl was also raised in the mountain area of the district where she lived a simple and peaceful life.

For most of the class, Sofia appeared to be fully distracted. However, this kind of attitude was not new for their teacher.

Since their class is nighttime, the teacher gives consideration that the students might be exhausted from their day. It was understandable that most attendance at night class were working students.

Sofia continued to explore her thoughts. For her, it was too illogical that she would actually go to a dangerous place but, her heart could not wait to witness some gang's fighting.

'Could it be the teenage curiosity that had overwhelmed my interest right now? Maybe I would also be curious in my past life if I there are gangs and fraternity in district 2. That must be the reason for my eagerness,' Sofia analyzed. She could only find one aspect of her to be the reason why she had felt excitement with the dangers that are involved in her plans.

She knew the feeling that she felt. But she could not point out the reason why she felt it. At most, with her old soul, it would be rational if she avoids this kind of danger.

But her instinct is pushing her to go. And she could not ignore the gut feeling that she had within her heart.

By the time her class ended, Sofia was the first to dash out of their classroom.

Her classmates who wanted to talk to her about the tournament that she participated in were left confused. Normally this girl is the last to leave their room. But now, she was actually in a hurry!

"Maybe, Sofia detected that we want to talk to her about the district tournament. So, she went home right away to evade us," one of the classmates said while looking at Sofia's back vanishing in the shadows of the dim corridor. This classmate was well-adorned with jewelry and one could easily tell that the lady is already employed.

"I wanna invite her to invest in our business! She got the money to pay the registration now," another female classmate said. Her bag may look small but in fact, the logo that was attached to it indicated that its price is big.

"Ohhh, you are actually thinking of prospecting Sofia! Nice! I just want to congratulate her, but now that you have given me the idea, maybe I'll ask her too," one male friend of them also joined their conversation.

"Hehe," the female classmate with an expensive bag just laughed dryly at her male friend. They had considered themselves as a business partner, so, she did not think too much of it. Instead, the female stared at the girl that had full jewelry on and gave her a wide smile. "Sis, after your salary this month, join with our business, okay? It's too easy, you'll just put your money and then it will be doubled after a month. There is no need to do anything at all! And you can get extra money for the referral!"

"Okay, okay, I will check if my budget has extra this month," the female answered and left hastily. These two had been constantly nagging her to join them. They were even bragging about their income and how easy to earn the money that it was already irritating to listen to their words.  She quickened her pace just in case the two classmates would go after her.

The business that Sofia's classmates were talking about was the same investment that Jing Jing had described to Sofia when they were out strolling in the downtown area of the district.

"I think it's easy to convince Sofia to join us. My account will level up and my earning will increase by that time," the male classmate continued to imagine once he invited Sofia to join them.  If only there was a way for him to see Sofia's opinions about the business, his ecstatic facial expression would surely turn sour.

Such a business had also been present in Sofia's past life. And she was fully aware of what kind of disaster had it caused to the locals.

So, when she told Jing Jing to warn her friends about their investments, Sofia was actually expecting that the lady would use her resources and warn all the investors before its too late.
