Ceo Unrivaled

Chapter 48 - A Sensible Colleague

As the crowd headed towards the exit, two people just took a step at the entrance of the gymnasium. Rica was searching the exact location of Jing Jing while her boyfriend was holding a takeaway box containing their meals.

"Jing Jing, we just entered the gym, which seat did you occupy?! I can't see you," Maxwell heard her girlfriend asked.

"Oh, okay," his girlfriend finished the brief phone call and smiled at him charmingly. She then hold his hands and started to look for Jing Jing.

"Hon, this place is packed with so many people! I am surprised." Maxwell returned a loving smile at Rica and stated. Then he glanced at the people going in their opposite direction.

"Yes. It is packed! This event is also trending online," Rica responded as the two of them walked towards the not-so-empty row of seats.

Maxwell intertwined their fingers and let Rica walked ahead of him. The lady secretly blushed as she felt a tug on her chest by the gesture of the man.

"Hon, Jing Jing said she is near the operator's room. Help me look which side is it." Rica smiled gently at the man once more.

Maxwell nodded and looked at the other side. He easily spotted the place. "There, it should be Jing Jing sitting alone." he gestured in the direction where a figure of a slim woman sitting alone.

"Yeah, that's her," Rica muttered as she hovered their way.

"Jing Jing, we bought foods. Hehe, now, tell me what happened?" Rica called even though she was still a few seats away from her colleague.

"There is really no need for the two of you to come. I felt bad that your date is now ruined." Jing Jing looked gloomy as she saw the couple fastly approaching her.

"AHH, don't be so overdramatic. Maxwell and I were just hanging out in the Café because the restaurant that we want to have a lunch date is fully booked. Now, we were just picking random places. Maxwell does not mind going here," Rica quickly dismissed Jing Jing's complaints.

"Yeah, I don't mind at all." her boyfriend smile and hand her a takeaway meal.

"See? Now, tell me what happened! Hurry!" Jing Jing demanded even before she could sit properly. Her boyfriend busied himself to open the boxes of food beside her.

"Well, where should I start? Hmmn," Jing Jing stared at her food for so long before she looked at the couple. Then she started telling the series of events that happened earlier that day...

Maxwell started eating but Rica was not paying attention to her food. She was listening intently as Jing Jing poured all the details for her.

Jing Jing crossed her arms in her chest and released a deep sigh. She calmly narrated all the things that happened to her and Drake.

On the other seat next to her, Rica was just pouncing her disposable fork onto her food while venting all her feelings.

"So that's what happened?! How can he easily break up like that?" Rica said as her face completely turned sour.

"Yeaahh, well, that's the end of us. I think he just formed a relationship with me to spy on our company. He really exerts an effort just so they could go on top." Jing Jing laughed bitterly. Such a breakup because of betrayal with no closure and the man directly got a new lover. Jing Jing felt that her worth had gone lesser.

"AHHH! Why did you let that man tricked you? I'm sorry but I can't just listen and do nothing. I want to go back to the café and beat the heal out of that Drake! What a scum! I am so angry!" Rica was fuming seeing the tinge of sadness in Jing Jing's eyes. The woman may have a great composure of concealing her emotions but her eyes would never lie. Rica had sensed all Jing Jing's hidden feelings. Her eyes reflected a slight bubble of misery.

"Tsk, it was my fault alright! I just trusted him too much! Next time, I will surely do a background check before I enter into a relationship." Jing Jing grinned. She recognized her fault openly and tried to talk about it casually. She averted her gaze to the remaining people who were also eating on the seats.

The almost empty bleachers of the gymnasium were still bustling with noises. The audience who did not leave were laughing loudly and chattering's go louder and louder.

The three started to eat properly and minimize their exchange of conversation. Maxwell continued to observe the two ladies and did not interrupt them.

"I can't believe the audacity of that man to use you! Hmmph! This is why their company would never reach the top! They will always just be second to us no matter what stunt and publicity they pull. Karma will punish them because they play dirty!" Rica continued to speak.

Rica's boyfriend started to rub her back as she was still venting all her disappointments of Drake. The man could only stay silent and shook his head from time to time.

It turned out that it was his girlfriend who was more affected by the breakup than Jing Jing herself!

"So, Jing Jing, do you want to come with us tonight? We can celebrate this Valentine's together." Rica offered without thinking too much about what she said.

On the other hand, Jing Jing's face turned ashen as she heard her colleague's words. "Are you out of your mind?!" Jing Jing glared at her with a deep frown etched on her forehead.

"Well, you have nothing to do. We can drink a few beers and do karaoke." Rica suggested.

"I'm fine. It's not like I am fully invested in my relationship with Drake. I am even more upset that I have lost my chance to do a report cover for this tournament." Jing Jing crossed her legs and closed the lid of her food.

"Indeed. The two of you rarely go out. Well, it was good riddance! You don't deserve to be with a scum!" Rica spoke.

"I know right! This kind of man must be discarded right away! I will just let karma settle things for me." Jing Jing sounded in agreement.

"Alright, you can always hunt boys. Your worth is more than what you think," Rica patted Jing Jing and smiled at her.

While these three were having discussions with love life, another group on the front seats was also teasing their leader.

"Boss WINS, let's meet up the Chronos squad. Just contact them and ask to eat lunch together." a man nudged WINS in his arm. He saw their expectant gaze were subjected directly to him.

WINS scratched his head and glowered at the two members. "Now is not yet a suitable time to meet up. Their squad will be on the next battle. They might lose their focus."

"Boss, I don't think we will affect the performance of the Chronos squad later. Let's just meet them and say hi. That's all."

"Yes! Boss WINS, they don't look nervous at all. They should have practiced their coordination. Let's go!"

WINS sighed in frustration. His members were so persistent in meeting Sofia's squad and had been bugging him to contact her even before the first 15-minute break earlier.

"Let's not disturb their lunch. Don't pester me anymore or I'll send the two of you back to our quarter in district 6. You won't be able to see the finals of this tournament." WINS threatened and gave them an evil grin.

"Hehe, you did not hear anything from us boss. Hehehe" The two members of FAB_Gamers squad quickly sat straight and pretended to be busy with their mobile phones.
