Childish Flower
Chapter 32
When he entered the bedroom, he saw Mu Jin struggling with some difficulty, his body slightly flushed. The blanket that was covering his body had been pulled off unconsciously, and half of it had fallen under the bed. His forehead was already covered in a cold sweat, and his lips were trembling slightly as he let out a few painful moans.
When Gao Tianchen saw his appearance, his heart thumped. He rushed to the bedside with anxious strides. His heart tingled slightly, and his brows knitted slightly.
The skin of Mu Jin was not as fair as usual. It was slightly red and hot. His mouth was gasping for air, and from time to time a low cough would emerge. Gao Tian Chen raised his hand to touch his sweat-soaked forehead, and the temperature under his palm was frighteningly hot.
He thought that Mu Jin had been caught in a heavy rain earlier and that his weakness had caused him to catch a high fever.
Although Mu Jin had not yet regained his senses, he felt as if there was a blazing fire inside his body. Using his dried blood as fuel, his thin body was reduced to ashes. His limbs were weak and limp, accompanied by a strong tightness in his chest.
In a daze, he felt a slightly cool touch blossoming on his hot forehead. It was like a drop of sweet spring-like salvation at the corner of a thirsty desert traveller’s lips. His eyelids were so heavy that he couldn’t open them. Mu Jin didn’t think much of it and took Gao Tian Chen’s hand that was about to withdraw with one hand.
“It’s so cold…” a mindless murmur was on his lips. Mu Jin’s eyes were tightly closed, his eyelids trembled slightly. He pressed Gao Tian Chen’s slightly cool hand against his own burning red cheek and gently rubbed it against it, trying to relieve the unbearable scorching heat.
Under his hand was Mu Jin’s soft white cheek, and the warm breath between his breath lightly touched Gao Tian Chen’s palm. The person on the bed was feverish. An unnatural red hue fluttered on his eyes and cheeks. It was dotted on his white skin. He no longer had the coldness of his previous rejection, and he seemed like a small animal intimately rubbing against his hand.
The air was about to freeze as his lower abdomen tightened uncontrollably. Gao Tianchen inwardly condemned himself for being a beast. He actually felt lust for the feverish and uncomfortable Mu Jin.
He was terrified that his impending outburst of pheromones would hurt the person on the bed and aggravate his condition. He only had to panic and pull out his hand, which was being held by Mu Jin in a deadly grip, and flee away.
He left the bedroom and asked Aunt Chen to take good care of the feverish Mu Jin. All he could do was go to the bathroom and take a cold shower.
Luckily, the fever came and went quickly, and in the second half of the night, Mu Jin’s body temperature dropped. The fever was no longer as hot as before, and he was so exhausted that he slept very deeply.
Gao Tianchen took a bath and went to bed to lie next to Mu Jin. His features were relaxed as he slept, no longer as cold and determined as he had been in the rain. His slightly dishevelled hair was soft and smooth against his fair skin, his lips were a little dry and cracked from the fever. They opened slightly to exhale a slow breath, and his reddened eyelids were imprinted with blackened eyelashes like wings that trembled gently. As if sweeping over his heart, they stirred.
With a gentle movement, his arms were able to gather the sleeping and defenceless Mu Jin firmly into his arms. Looking down at his sleeping face, he leaned down slightly, and with one hand he moved his light brown hair away from his forehead, and a soft, loving kiss fell on his bare forehead.
Outside the window, the cloudy sky was already tinged with the first golden light of dawn, breaking through the darkness of the window. Gao Tianchen’s heart suddenly flashed with a trace of gratitude that the sky had not yet fully dawned. He was glad that Mu Jin had not yet woken up and that he could still cherish the little time he had to hold him in his arms.
Gao Tianchen knew in his heart that when Mu Jin wakes up, the two will once again struggle for this relationship that will not end.
As expected, Gao Tianchen slept too late last night and woke up only when the sunlight came pouring in. When he opened his eyes, the place beside him was already empty. If not for the faint fragrance of the gardenia left in the air, he would have thought that he only had a beautiful dream before.
Mu Jin left early in the morning, and life seems to be back on track. Except for the black Bentley that can be seen in front of the bookstore every day when he leaves work.
Gao Tianchen didn’t know what was wrong with him, but every day he would bring his little Gao Lin to pick him up from work on time. At first, he wanted to ignore it and just walk away, but as soon as he took a step, Gao Lin immediately dropped the corner of his mouth and burst into tears with a loud wail.
He turned around and hastily reached out to pick him up. His son’s big, clear, wave-like eyes were filled with crystal mist, and tears were falling down his fleshy face as he stretched out his two little white paws and wrapped them around Mu Jin, not letting him go.
Mu Jin looked up somewhat helplessly and met Gao Tian Chen’s gaze. Was it his illusion that there was a gleeful, cunning glint in his eyes as if his plan had succeeded?
It’s no longer a matter of concern for the sake of Gao Lin, Mu Jin can’t leave. He was forced to go back to the villa in Gao Tianchen’s car every day, but he insisted on going to the guest room, not sharing a bed with Gao Tianchen.
There are things that he once looked forward to and now fears and rejects.
During the day, he goes to work at the bookstore to avoid Gao Tianchen. At night, there are only a few people in the big, empty house, so Mu Jin chooses not to go out of the guest room as much as possible and does not meet Gao Tianchen.
Whether you call him a coward or an evader, he had planned to go far away but was forcibly “caught” back. Mu Jin has already lost sight of Gao Tianchen. There is only one deep-rooted thought in his mind: Gao Tianchen has pity and responsibility for him, and there is a hint of liking but no love.
He thought he would just get on with it, but in the last few days, his physical condition had become somewhat uncomfortable. Not only did he often feel sluggish and lacking in appetite, but he also had an abrasive itch in the unspeakable area of his rear, with the occasional clear trickle of fluid creeping out and increasing emptiness.
If his senses were correct, his rut was about to begin.
