Leena was thinking about whether she should leave. She took a look at Carlson and then at Mr. Martin. The two men made no comments, so she stood quietly beside Carlson and didn't intend to go out.

Mr. Martin looked at Lily, who was lying on the bed, and asked, "What happened that day? Why did my daughter get hurt?"

Carlson sighed and said, "Lily and I were plotted and attacked on the ship."

"Who are they?" Mr. Martin said in a dignified tone. Although he knew that it was not Carlson's fault, his question was still as stern as if he was blaming Carlson.

All of a sudden, Carlson fell silent. It was his fault. He didn't protect his loved ones well, and he didn't even know where those people went. He failed, so he didn't want to answer Mr. Martin's question.

"I heard that those people had left when I sent someone to investigate." Mr. Martin continued, "Haven't you figured out who is on the ship?"

"I will figure it out. Since Lily and I are the target, and she was hurt because of me, of course I will find it out." Carlson had some

Leena could tell that Daniel hid the truth for his father. No matter how indifferent he was, he was still a Jack's son. He would not betray his father so easily. So she should have been grateful that she didn't tell the truth to Mr. Martin so soon. Otherwise, she would have offended Daniel. After all, he saved her.

Mr. Martin didn't say a word again. She didn't know if he was confused or he had made a plan in his mind. After a long time, he said, "You can all go out. Carlson will stay and talk with me."

All of a sudden, Carlson raised his lowing head and stared at Mr. Martin with burning eyes. Leena couldn't help but look at him. He seemed to have raised his head, and then he suddenly turned to look at her. His eyes were calm and expressionless, conveying no message, but it also seemed to tell her to calm down.

Daniel looked around and shrugged indifferently. Then he looked at Leena, as if asking her to go out with him.

Leena nodded at Carlson and went out with Daniel, closing the door.
