Colonial Suit
#1117 - Close to the truth
In the endless void, the pillar of light continuously darkened and dissipated. The roar of the universe's will also grew weaker and weaker, eventually disappearing.
Only Blood瞳 was left in place, his right hand still burning with raging black flames.
He stood there silently, like a wooden sculpture. It was unknown how long passed before he twitched, then slowly raised his right hand in front of him, the red light in his eyes flickering before extinguishing.
"Blood瞳, Brother!"
Little Bo Xi screamed and hurriedly ordered the spaceship to move forward, then personally brought Blood瞳 back to the cabin. At this time, Blood瞳 had deactivated his abyssal transformation and returned to his human form, but his eyes were tightly closed and his skin was icy cold. If his chest wasn't still slowly rising and falling, he would have seemed like a dead man.
Robbie also woke up at this time, reached out and touched Blood瞳's forehead, then breathed a sigh of relief.
"Send him to the treatment pod immediately."
"Will Blood瞳, Brother be alright?" Mia asked from the side, her eyes full of worry.
"It's okay," Robbie said with a comforting smile. "He's just exhausted. He'll be fine after some rest."
Watching the others quickly send Blood瞳 to the treatment pod, Robbie's expression gradually darkened. He lowered his head and looked at his fingers, then sighed softly.
In reality, it was far more than just exhaustion. Blood瞳's condition was simply despairing. Not only were there hundreds of different types of energy clashing within his body, but his physical structure was also a complete mess. His blood was full of toxins, and even his heart would occasionally stop beating. In Robbie's perception, Blood瞳 was like a tattered rag doll, barely stitched together with needles and thread.
However, Robbie also knew that Blood瞳's body couldn't be viewed with the eyes of an ordinary person, so he wasn't worried. He simply arranged for Blood瞳 to enter the treatment pod first, then waited for him to wake up on his own.
This wait lasted for two days. The continuous problems almost drove the ship's doctors crazy. Not only did his various physical indicators fluctuate like a roller coaster, but fragments of broken internal organs would occasionally separate, almost causing the doctor watching over him to faint. But after waking up two days later, Blood瞳's body suddenly returned to the state of an ordinary person, which amazed the doctors.
In the vast void, the Twilight of the Gods sailed steadily.
On the platform above the bridge, Blood瞳 leaned against the railing and reached out to pull out a cigar, waving it at Robbie.
"I don't smoke. Thank you," Robbie replied with a smile, then pointed to Blood瞳's chest. "Are you alright?"
"There was never anything wrong," Blood瞳 replied, a hint of a smile appearing in his eyes. "As for those chaotic phenomena, it was just cellular metabolism. The process of survival of the fittest."
With a flick of his finger, a spark of flame appeared. Blood瞳 lit the cigar, took a deep breath, and exhaled slowly, his body relaxing a lot. "Actually, I've been awake these past few days, including when hunting the Extreme Abomination."
"It's just that my awareness was a bit special, it was like… it was like an out-of-body experience. I knew what I was doing, I knew what I wanted, but I couldn't control my actions."
Blood瞳 pointed to his head and said to Robbie, "You know, I can be impulsive sometimes."
"That's not called impulsive, that's called barbaric," Robbie joked in response. Then they both laughed together.
The laughter was light and relaxed, as if they had returned to the years of their adventures together on X35. At that time, they were both very simple, without so many burdens on their shoulders, and without so many expectations for the future. As warriors or hunters, they were always prepared to die, not hoping for tomorrow.
But now, they couldn't be so relaxed anymore.
Blood瞳 held onto the railing, greedily gazing at the void outside. The cigar in his mouth bobbed up and down, exhaling rich smoke. After a while, he suddenly said.
"Robbie, do you know what the Extreme Abomination is?"
"You've already told us that it's a derivative of another universe," Robbie replied. During this time, Blood瞳 wasn't always in a state of chaos. During brief moments of clarity, he would share the information he had obtained with everyone, allowing Robbie and the others to understand the true nature of the Extreme Abomination.
However, this was only limited to a simple introduction. Before the Extreme Abomination was absorbed, Blood瞳 couldn't figure out its details.
But today… Blood瞳 knew that he seemed to have touched a trace of the truth.
"I've thought about a lot of things while resting these past few days," he said, his back to Robbie, his voice low.
"The Extreme Abomination is a product of another universe, that's certainly true, but we haven't noticed how it entered our universe. This isn't two neighbors visiting, this is the interaction of two universes. Reaching your and my level, we should know how difficult this is, how… unrealistic."
In the silence, Blood瞳 spoke softly, but Robbie's expression grew increasingly gloomy.
He knew what Blood瞳 was going to say…
If, just if, a creature from another universe could appear in this universe, wouldn't that mean that this universe had already been invaded by another universe? Had the rules of this universe also developed loopholes?
This was a serious problem!!
Universes were all independent. In the known knowledge, although there were theories of multiple universes, no one had ever truly proven them. Even the so-called 'Alpha Project' was just some super-powered individuals attempting cross-border behavior through thought induction, or a form of self-hypnosis.
Cross-border travel in reality had never been achieved by anyone, never.
It should be known that the strongest of today's universe warriors has reached the God Domain level… Even the God Domain level cannot do it. Then what else can?
The Extreme Abomination…
Did it!!
Thinking of this, Robbie suddenly broke out in a cold sweat. What did this mean? Was this a natural phenomenon, or was it driven by some force? Was the Extreme Abomination a non-intelligent individual, or some kind of intelligent life? Or, was there something behind the Extreme Abomination, leading all of this?
The more he thought about it, the more terrifying it became, the more chilling it became.
Robbie suddenly felt as if he had fallen into an ice cellar. His body, and even his soul, were dead silent under some kind of silent gaze…
"You've thought of it."
In the almost suffocating silence, Blood瞳 said softly. "It seems you and I have thought of the same thing. But unfortunately, I happen to know more…"
Saying that, he turned around, his gaze meeting Robbie's. Serious, but calm, he said.
"The Extreme Abomination is not an intelligent life. It itself is just a manifestation of a rule, or a solidified crystal. What flows in its body is not the breath of life, nor blood, but the power of rules. It has no intelligence, it will only follow its instincts to hunt, strengthening itself by hunting the existences of this universe."
"Its main body is a physical object, and it can switch between the illusory and the real because when it is illusory, it breaks away from the rules of this universe, so it will be ignored."
"And the reason it can appear here… is because…"
"They are parasitic within some existence."
"Brought in."
