Colonial Suit

#138 - The twins' new armor

After the surprise... Hanser didn't give Blood Pupil the answer he hoped for. He just told Blood Pupil to go back first.

Watching Blood Pupil's disappearing back, Hanser stroked his chin and pondered for a while before suddenly speaking.

"Karl, go to my study and find some information."

"Sir, what do you need?" An old butler with a head full of silver hair appeared at the door. He was Hanser's first follower, and had followed Hanser since he became a mercenary. He was very loyal and reliable.

"The north wall of the study, the seventh shelf of the bookshelf. I remember there's a red folder," Hanser thought for a moment, speaking with some uncertainty.

But the old butler's memory was obviously better than his. As soon as Hanser spoke, he knew what it was. He reminded Hanser, "That's information from before the Great Chaos."

"That's right, that's what I want. Bring it to me," Hanser replied.

"Understood, sir. Please wait a moment." The old butler retreated, and after a while, he walked in with a red folder.

Hanser's personality was somewhat old-fashioned, and like some mercenaries who adhered to tradition, he also liked retro things. So it was the same with storing information. He didn't avoid the old butler and opened the folder in front of him, flipping through it page by page.

There was a lot of information in the folder, but Hanser obviously had a purpose. He quickly found what he wanted.

It was a very old document. It contained important records from before the Great Chaos. One line was written like this...

"Before the Great Chaos, some advanced combat races appeared in the universe. Their combat power was extremely strong, and they also had terrifying aggression. They once conquered large areas of star fields. They were warriors among warriors, the kings of the food chain. Their greatest characteristic was that in order to maintain their extremely high combat instincts, the young of these races would be implanted with gene fragments from a young age, causing them to produce battlefield nightmares. This method was used to constantly hone their combat awareness and wildness."

"Representative races... Krodir, Mota, Fakre..."

At the end of the text, the names of several combat races were marked in blood-red characters. Among them, Krodir was the most conspicuous.

"As expected... is that so?" Hanser gently closed the document, a look of heaviness in his eyes.

"That guy... could he be a descendant of an advanced combat race from before the Great Chaos?"

"Sir... this is not a good thing," the old butler whispered a reminder. "Those advanced combat races are almost extinct, and since the beginning of civilization grading, they have been listed as wanted criminals. If he is discovered..."

A glint flashed in the old butler's eyes. "It will definitely affect you, sir."

"..." Hanser didn't speak, he just quietly pondered, and after a while, he took out a cigar and lit it, taking a deep puff. In the swirling smoke, his gaze was a little erratic.

"So what you're saying is?"

"Perhaps... we should do something," the old butler said in a low voice, looking harmless. "Otherwise, when others discover him, you will be passive, sir."

"You mean tell me to hand him over?" Hanser raised his head, stretching himself softly on the sofa, speaking lazily.

"Or you could do it yourself, sir," the old butler still maintained a cautious attitude. "No matter what, don't let him appear again."

"Heh..." Hanser laughed. "When did you become so cold-blooded, Karl? I remember you weren't like this before."

"Time can always change things, especially in the mercenary business," the old butler replied in a low voice. "I don't know how to handle this matter, but I only know that it shouldn't affect you."

"I naturally understand your loyalty," Hanser shook his head, holding the cigar in his mouth and pouring himself a glass of whiskey. "But if I were that kind of person, you wouldn't be following me. Do you remember that mission when I first became a trainee mercenary?"

"I remember. That mission caused you trouble. It attracted a lot of enemies," the old butler recalled. "And I myself was almost killed by them. You saved me, sir."

"Yes," Hanser sighed. "If I thought the same way back then as you do now, would there still be you today?"

"..." The old butler fell silent. After a long while, he let out a long sigh. "I understand, sir."

"Very good," Hanser nodded with satisfaction, drinking the whiskey in his glass in one gulp. "Then you know what to do. In fact, I'm just guessing. There's no need to make a fuss."

"I hope so," the old butler replied. His gaze... gradually drifted out the window.

"But the signs of danger... have already appeared..."

At this time, Blood Pupil had just returned to his residence. As yesterday, he dragged his scarred body into the treatment nest and fell into a deep sleep.

The next morning, he took the Gemini siblings to resupply.

Regarding the agreement with Robbie, Blood Pupil planned to invite the Gemini siblings to go with him, maybe they could find suitable retainers. The Gemini siblings were noncommittal about his idea, but expressed great interest in being able to accompany Blood Pupil again.

Under Jack's leadership, the group arrived at the armor customization center they went to last time, intending to customize a set of IV-level armor for the Gemini siblings.

This was a big deal. You must know that IV-level armor was already at the level of the Fifth World. It was difficult to get in ordinary places, let alone customize it. For this reason, the center's chief designer specially communicated with the Gemini siblings to confirm their preferences. It took a whole day for the new armor to basically take shape.

These were two extremely special sets of armor. Learning from the lessons of the last time they were destroyed, the armor's armor adopted a reflective metal unique to the Fifth World. It could effectively resist the attack of beam weapons. The appearance still continued the Gemini siblings' unique princess dress and tailcoat. But the engine was changed to an ion collision reactor. This engine had extremely strong power and was unique to advanced armor. The only disadvantage was that its sustainability was not good and it was difficult to support long-term beyond-limit battles.

The older sister's princess dress armor was designed as a heavy firepower support type. It abandoned mobility and replaced it with a large-scale armor enhancement. This allowed it to withstand the attacks of ordinary vassals without being damaged. At the same time, a nano-bullet factory was added. It could automatically produce bullets during non-combat periods. In terms of weapons... because the original plasma large machine gun was damaged in the last battle, it was replaced by a 'Corpse Maker' twenty-millimeter ultra-compressed Gauss machine gun. It could fire dozens of special ammunition. As well as the 'Hive' missile launchers on the shoulders and the 'Cliff' electromagnetic shield on the waist. Finally, in order to make up for the lack of maneuverability caused by the enhanced defense, a sliding module was specially installed on the armor's feet to make up for the lack of speed when operating on the ground.

The biggest feature of this armor was the "Private Fortress" combat system. It could transform into a small steel fortress in wartime to improve protection, at the cost of being unable to move.

In short, its functions were not many, but because of this, its offensive and defensive capabilities were very outstanding. After abandoning energy weapons and replacing them with live ammunition weapons, its attack power was even higher. The only problem was that ammunition was easy to run out.

But Mia liked this armor very much. She named the armor 'Alice's Song' and asked for the armor to be painted silver. The twin angel icon was painted on the shoulders.

The younger brother, Bo Xi's armor was completely different from his sister's. From the beginning, it was designed as a high-speed assault type. A full twelve jet ports were placed on the back. It could provide amazing instantaneous thrust. The built-in attitude stabilization device allowed it to maintain balance at ultra-high speeds even without the master's control. Although the armor was not as strong as his sister's 'Alice's Song', the vital parts were not bad at all. It was a typical guerrilla warfare armor. A hit and run was its perfect way of fighting.

In terms of weapons... Bo Xi's big sickle was retained. But the material was replaced with a super-hard alloy from the Fifth World. At the same time, in order to exert Bo Xi's 'cutting' ability, hundreds of metal wire firing holes were installed throughout the armor. When all were fired, a net could be laid in a range of 100 meters around. Other than that, there was only the same 'Cliff' electromagnetic shield as his sister.

But the biggest feature of this armor was not its simple weapon system, but its paint. It adopted a light camouflage that only appeared in the Fifth World. When activated, it could change color with the external environment and shield its own energy characteristics. This made this armor seem like an assassin in the dark night, full of weirdness from the inside out.

Bo Xi was also very satisfied with this armor and named it 'Blue Dance'. The paint color was set to dark blue, and the twin angel icon was also painted on the shoulders.

These two sets of armor were almost the highest level of this customization center. From the inside out, they all adopted the technology and materials of the Fifth World. When the customization was completed, even the chief designer repeatedly praised them. He called these two sets of armor the most perfect works he had designed. He looked reluctant to part with them.

However, the price was equally appalling. The two sets of armor cost nearly four thousand star coins in total. It was almost all the salary that the Gemini siblings had received from the last mission. And the most important thing was that it also consumed a full three hundred contribution points.

This was an astonishing price. Not to mention a trainee, even a meteor-level would feel the pain. But the Gemini siblings still looked indifferent. Making everyone amazed. (These two little rich women... =.=)

In addition to the armor, Blood Pupil customized some high-compression energy blocks. Then the group walked out of the armor customization center.

Seven days passed in the blink of an eye. Blood Pupil finally ended the 'teaching' and appeared at Robbie's temporary residence with the Gemini siblings. After some greetings, the group boarded the large shuttle that Robbie had prepared for a long time.

"This is a long journey. May the Lord bless us all to be safe and sound," he said with great grace.

The people in the cabin were doing their own thing, no one paid attention to him...
