Colonial Suit
#22 - The sunny pastor
The market at the gathering point was really small. After all, this was just a small gathering point, somewhat like a supply transfer station in the wilderness. However, there were quite a few varieties of goods here. From small things like grain seeds, ores, and leather, to large things like weapons and ammunition, everything was available. Blood瞳 even saw an old twin-barreled tank.
In the post-apocalyptic world, ore and food were hard currency. So Blood瞳 was now very confident. Old Vick had given him a box of copper ore. This was already the entire wealth of the Black Sheep Mercenary Group. From birth until now, this was the first time Blood瞳 had so much capital, making him feel like a nouveau riche with a lot of money.
However, he did not spend lavishly. Although there were many goods in the market, he was not interested in many of them. It was still the same old things. He got a set of camping equipment and a fur coat. He also bought two alloy hunting knives. Although this thing was nothing compared to his gauntlets, it was an excellent weapon to carry when he wasn't using the gauntlets. Since using the gauntlets, Blood瞳 had discovered a problem, which was that when the gauntlets were weaponized, they would consume a lot of physical strength and increase his hunger. This was a considerable burden for him. Therefore, when ordinary weapons could solve the problem, Blood瞳 would try to avoid using the gauntlets. Oh, that mysterious "Colony Armor."
Casually strolling through the market, Blood瞳 bought a lot of things in a short while. He didn't want to be extravagant, but he had already decided to leave the Black Sheep Mercenary Group. Then the supplies needed for survival in the wild were essential. A large amount of food and water would take up a lot of space, so he also needed a means of transportation.
After walking for a while, Blood瞳 suddenly heard a familiar voice seeming to call him. He turned around and couldn't help but be stunned.
A merchant wrapped in bandages was waving to him not far away.
"It's you?" A trace of surprise flashed in Blood瞳's eyes. Of course, he recognized the other party. It was this bandage merchant who had sold him the urgently needed goods at No. 7 Shelter. Although those goods were ultimately not used, he had obtained his gauntlets from the other party. Blood瞳 was surprised that he would meet the other party here. Shouldn't he be at No. 7 Shelter?
"Of course, kid. Who else did you think it would be? After leaving No. 7 Shelter, who else knows you?" The bandage merchant said with a sly smile, while walking towards a truck behind him. "Kid, I just arrived at this godforsaken gathering point today and saw you, an old acquaintance. Hey, don't you want to take a look at my goods? There are new goods."
"I..." Blood瞳 was about to say that he didn't need it, when a feeling he couldn't explain suddenly flashed in his mind. The words that came to his lips changed to, "Okay."
"Ha, kid, I knew you were a discerning person. Although not very rich. But I like you." The bandage merchant laughed. He suddenly opened the back door of the truck. A rattling sound rang out, and Blood瞳's eyes widened instantly, and he gasped.
He saw that the narrow carriage was densely packed with weapons. All kinds of guns and ammunition were neatly arranged on both sides of the carriage. It was like a weapon warehouse. In the dim carriage, these guns emitted a faint blue light, and it was obvious that they were new goods. The golden bullets were neatly stacked. Some of the bullets also had special red markings. But these were not the most important. The most important thing was that at the end of the carriage, there were actually five large iron boxes. Blood瞳 had seen this kind of iron box. Of course, he knew what it was.
"Armor?"
"That's right. And it's new. I just got it." The bandage merchant said triumphantly. "How about it, kid, are you interested in getting a set? This thing is very popular. Don't say I didn't remind you, if you don't get it now, you won't see it tomorrow at most."
The bandage merchant's words were not an exaggeration. Armor was the strongest individual equipment in this world. Although it was not rare. But brand-new armor was extremely rare. Everyone knew that new armor was definitely made in a high-level world, and it was much stronger than the armor left over from the pre-civilization era.
In fact, Blood瞳 was also very tempted. But he knew that he couldn't afford this thing with his current capital. Most of the armor in the Seventh World used energy blocks as energy sources, and the price was terrifyingly high. His box of copper ore was probably not enough to pay for the energy.
So even though he was envious, he could only shake his head and refuse.
But just as he was about to open his mouth, he felt a shadow beside him, and a figure walked over. "Ha, so many good things. It seems I'm lucky today."
Blood瞳 turned around and immediately saw a handsome blond and blue-eyed priest. He was wearing a well-fitting black priest's robe and holding a Bible in his hand. He looked particularly sunny. In this post-apocalyptic world where even survival could not be guaranteed, Blood瞳 felt a clear vitality from him. It made his spirits lift. And what impressed him most about this priest was that he was carrying a black cross that was more than a meter long on his back. It looked very unconventional.
Seeing Blood瞳 looking at him, the handsome priest smiled at Blood瞳, revealing his teeth. Then he faced the bandage merchant. "Boss, can I try out the things here?"
"Hehe, it seems there's more than one distinguished guest today. Of course you can. Which one do you fancy?" The bandage boss was also very happy. He answered with a smile.
"WM," the handsome priest said with a smile, spitting out a name.
"Winged Butterfly?" The bandage merchant was stunned, then laughed heartily. "Good eye, this is a treasure left over from the pre-civilization era. It's almost never seen on the market now. I've only collected two of them, but I didn't expect you to take a fancy to it at a glance."
"I saw the .44 bullets," the priest replied with a smile.
"Of course, .44 bullets, that's the kind of thing that can kill even mutated beasts. Have you brought enough money?" The bandage merchant pulled out an iron box from behind him and placed it in front of the priest. After opening the box, Blood瞳 immediately saw a deep blue revolver.
This was a very special gun. Even Blood瞳, who knew nothing about guns, had a good impression of this gun at first glance. It was special because its gun body was not ostentatious, but rather slender and delicate. But it had an unspeakable murderous aura. The barrel was covered with a thin layer of gun oil. It could be seen that the owner often maintained it. Six thick bullets were neatly arranged below the gun. It was as exquisite as a work of art.
"WM, Winged Butterfly." The priest skillfully picked up the gun and fiddled with it a few times, then flicked the revolver out with a swoosh. After glancing at the rifling, he flicked it back. He smiled slightly.
"Where can I test the gun?"
"Right here." The bandage merchant smiled, and slapped the carriage behind him. Then Blood瞳 saw a window open at the top of the carriage, and three frisbees were shot into the sky.
Almost at the same time that the frisbees were shot to the highest point, three gunshots rang out in Blood瞳's ears. He saw the three frisbees disintegrate in the air at the same time, and were shattered by the high-speed bullets. The market was immediately in chaos. Everyone was alarmed by the gunshots. In the chaotic crowd, a group of guards with guns ran over. But the priest didn't even look at them. He just casually put the revolver back into the iron box.
"Not bad."
Blood瞳 next to him was shocked. The gun test was just a moment, but he didn't even see the handsome priest's movements clearly. He only felt that the priest's arm moved the moment the frisbee was about to reach its peak, and the frisbee was shattered. So fast! Such fast hands, such a fast gun!
"Hey, who fired a gun in the market just now?" A commotion rang out behind him, and the guards had already walked over. Although no one saw the priest fire the gun, the gunshots were fired from here. The guards naturally wouldn't look in the wrong place.
The bandage merchant wasn't flustered either. He casually threw a sign to the guard. The guard was so frightened when he saw it that he shivered. He quickly gave a salute. "I'm sorry, I didn't know you were..."
"Alright, alright. Don't disturb my business." The bandage merchant impatiently interrupted the guard's words. He waved away the guards as if he was chasing away flies. Then he smiled at the priest.
"How is it, are you satisfied?"
"Very satisfied." The priest smiled shyly. He gently rubbed his fingers on the iron box, thought for a while, and threw out a pocket. "Three hundred Gold Vicks, I want both guns. And give me four hundred more bullets."
"Ha, you're really a discerning young man." The bandage merchant happily took the pocket and glanced at it, and his eyes immediately narrowed with a smile. Gold Vicks were the most hard currency in this world, far surpassing ore and food. It could be circulated anywhere. Its essence was gold coins, but the weight and purity were standardized, and the value was extremely high.
Three hundred Gold Vicks was enough to buy more than a dozen high-powered rifles. Now he was only buying two revolvers, so the bandage merchant had made a fortune.
"You're really a good customer." The bandage merchant was very happy, so he casually mentioned, "This kind of gun is powerful, but it's too inconvenient to carry ammunition. Why don't you consider a gun with energy bullets? A small amount of energy blocks can fire thousands of times. It's definitely worth the money."
"I like live ammunition. Don't you think the rolling gunpowder smell is so charming? That's the gift the Lord gave me." The priest replied casually, and casually picked up the guns and ammunition that the bandage merchant had packed. He politely smiled at Blood瞳 again. Then he turned around and left.
Watching his back, the bandage merchant opened his mouth with a smile. "You're really a happy customer. By the way, kid, what do you want? The things here are very good."
"But I don't have as much money as him." Blood瞳 touched his nose and replied with a wry smile.
"It doesn't matter, I'm not a snobbish merchant. Tell me, kid, what do you fancy, and I'll give you the lowest price." The bandage merchant said happily.
Blood瞳 hesitated, and a thought suddenly flashed in his mind. So he tentatively opened his mouth. "Do you have anything similar to that gauntlet last time?"
