#806 - Abyss Battlefield
The darkness of the Void seemed to stretch on forever. But the Bubble Continent was shrinking.
No one knew when these bubbles began to gather, or when they grew stronger. But in this cold void, the bubbles were the only things that could materialize. Under the Speaker's control, dense spatial particles gradually spread, forming the foundation of the continent and the most primitive rules.
Existence.
Existence is reasonable.
Of course, the Void didn't want this, so over the long years, the Cosmic Mercenaries paid a huge price to maintain this continent. And the Void tried its best to eliminate it, to return everything to nothingness.
Today, the Bubble Continent had finally become smaller.
Spatial particles were highly compressed, and an unprecedented mountain was rising within the bubble.
It had soil, rocks, and plants, just like a normal space. But the lower part was empty. Countless golden threads were growing from below, forming its mountain body like weaving. The mountain was born from the void and grew stronger from the void.
Blood瞳 and the Speaker sat on the top of the mountain, gazing at the endless void.
"The Void is an unrecognized space. Its essence is nothingness," the Speaker said, his single head still floating beside Blood瞳. "From the first time I entered here, I knew it was the mortal enemy of rules. All rules, whether from normal space, subspace, or anti-space, will not appear here. And entities dependent on rules will disappear."
"That's why I call it the Void."
"Also known as Byliklimo's Matchbox."
"But you still survived," Blood瞳 said, sitting on a rock. He had now regained his original body. However, because the rules were not yet solid enough, his body would sometimes shift from solid to illusory, and then back again.
"And you successfully exploited it, thereby glimpsing the secrets of the Second World."
"That's why you broke into here, isn't it?" The Speaker turned to look at Blood瞳. "As the heir of Krodir, it's not surprising that you're interested in the Second World. Although little information remains from the distant Great Chaos era, there's no doubt that the destruction of your civilization was more or less related to the Second World. Do you want revenge?"
"Let me reiterate, that's not my civilization," Blood瞳 replied bluntly. "Besides, I have no interest in avenging a non-existent civilization."
"Then why are you going to the Second World?" the Speaker asked with a smile, like a curious old child.
"That's my business. It has nothing to do with you."
"Of course. I won't pry into your secrets. That's our agreement," the Speaker said indifferently, turning his gaze back to the distant darkness. "Then let's get back to the main topic. How to utilize the nothingness here."
"There's one thing you said that's right. It was indeed here that I came into contact with the edge of the Second World. Because this is the passage to the Second World. It was abandoned by the Second World a long time ago."
"Here, we must first know what the Second World is. This is a very vague concept. In the seven-level universe, each level has its own civilization characteristics and civilization level. Just like the ruinization of the Seventh World, the mechanization of the Sixth World, and the energization of the Third World. But the Second World is different. To be precise, no one even knows if they exist."
"That's impossible. If they don't exist, how can they be recognized by the universe?" Blood瞳 asked strangely.
"That's the secret of the Second World," the Speaker chuckled. "Of course they exist. It's just that their existence is rather special."
"Illusory..." the Speaker suddenly said. "This is the secret I discovered."
"The Second World is actually a world that exists between illusion and reality. They can be said to exist, and they can be said not to exist. The difference lies only in whether they want to expose themselves to you. I know this concept is difficult to understand with normal thinking. But you just need to think of it this way."
"They exist, but you just can't see them or find them."
"So that's how it is..." Blood瞳's gaze became confused. "So, they can't be broken into."
"That's right. This is also the most common protection method used by advanced civilizations after the Great Chaos. To ensure their own safety, the best way is not a solid defense, but to not be discovered at all. The Third World built the Crystal Wall System for this purpose, and the Second World went a step further. They virtualized their civilization."
"Of course, no world can completely disappear. So the Second World still has a main body. This location is in anti-space."
"Established in anti-space!?" Blood瞳's eyes widened. Although he had vaguely guessed since discovering the Mercenary Headquarters in subspace, he still couldn't believe it when the truth was revealed.
He had personally experienced the harshness of anti-space. He had suffered great losses in order to forcibly traverse it. How could the Second World survive in such an environment? And still function normally?
This was too contrary to common sense.
"I know you don't quite believe it, but this is the truth," the Speaker replied, a hint of amazement flashing in his eyes. "They did it, establishing their main body in anti-space, which allows them to never be found or destroyed. And using virtualized projections to descend into normal space ensures their activities and resources. This is the biggest secret of the Second World. We don't know how they did it, but the closest guess to reality is that they mastered a new rule. A rule that doesn't belong to the normal universe."
"The Abyss!" Blood瞳 suddenly said.
"Oh?" The Speaker was stunned. "You also know about the Abyss?"
"Oh, I forgot. Originally, your Krodir were the first to find the Abyss during the Great Chaos era. You should also know about it, of course."
The Speaker smiled, with a hint of admiration. "The power of the Abyss is the most terrifying force in this universe. From the moment it was discovered, it has been permeated with destruction. The Second World cannot master it either, merely touching a corner of the power of the Abyss. That was the harvest of the Great Chaos War."
"However, this little harvest is enough for them to occupy the position of a top civilization. They used the power of the Abyss to open up the world of anti-space, and used the power of the Abyss to traverse between illusion and reality. Even this passage is proof that they used the power of the Abyss."
Blood瞳's expression changed. "You mean..."
"Here, is the battlefield of the Abyss and subspace!" The Speaker said with emotion, revealing a terrifying fact. "It is the blank space left after the battle between the Abyss and sub-rules."
"There is nothing."
"Completely annihilated."
"This is why the Abyss makes the entire universe tremble." To be continued. If you like this work, you are welcome to subscribe and reward (this site). Your support is my greatest motivation.)
