Colonial Suit

#848 - They're all stolen.

The altar unfolded once more, and two rows of figures walked up in the light screen. Their appearance was sudden, yet effortless, as if they had been there all along. The previous envoys of the Krel and Motta tribes, including Li'er, vanished without a trace in a golden light.

Everyone was accustomed to the almost omnipotent reality-bending of the Second World, so they weren't surprised.

Leading the Elte was a priest in white robes. Unlike most Elte, who favored gold armor, his status was clearly higher and more important. Walking in the altar's radiant light, he raised his head, offering a smile to the Second World envoy above.

"Greetings, great envoy."

"Hello," the envoy responded, a rare occurrence. "I am satisfied with the Elte's development."

"All is for the better service of our Lord," the priest said, placing a hand on his chest before asking, "I wonder, how is our Lord?"

"They are all well. Originally, they were supposed to preside over this ceremony, but recently, conflicts have been constant, so they... must also join in."

At this point, the envoy lowered his head, a glint flashing in his eyes. "Are the offerings you were asked to prepare ready?"

"Everything is as our Lord commanded," the priest respectfully lowered his head and gestured to those behind him.

Soon, several Elte warriors stepped forward, kneeling in unison as they presented a carefully protected crystal.

The crystal was exquisite, but otherwise unremarkable. However, as the crystal's packaging was opened and everyone's gaze focused on it, thunderous exclamations erupted throughout the venue.

"Wow!"

"How is this possible!?"

"It's actually... actually..."

"As expected of a top civilization in the Third World, the Elte are truly powerful."

Waves of intense mental energy crashed and intertwined in the hall, expressing the audience's shock and fear. They could hardly be blamed for losing their composure, as the Elte's offering was simply too terrifying: an entire star system, almost entirely composed of mineral planets, still in its primitive state!

It was sealed within the crystal, presented like an object on the altar. Through the transparent crystal, one could even see its rotation and the star's radiance.

It was unbelievable.

In his room, Blood瞳 opened his eyes, revealing a look of surprise.

On the other side, the Speaker shook his head slightly.

"The Elte are desperate. They've even brought out their strategic reserves. It seems they are determined to succeed in this sacrifice."

"It's no wonder. Since the previous two sacrifices, they haven't sent anyone up for a long time. First, their race was suppressed, and second, their god isn't doing well in the Second World. Otherwise, they wouldn't have taken such a risk, investing so much effort in the ruins incident seven years ago," Councilor Salqiongsi said beside him, swirling the wine in his glass and casually patting a nearby maid's bottom, eliciting a scream.

"This time, they've offered such a great price, they must be planning to send a group of people up. And... I think they have even greater ambitions."

"You mean?" the Speaker asked, a sardonic smile playing on his lips.

"Gustas," Councilor Salqiongsi replied. "I think they plan to pull Gustas onto their chariot as well, to enter the Second World together. This way, they can better serve their 'god'."

"Haha..." The Speaker laughed, shaking his head repeatedly. "Indeed, it's getting more and more interesting."

"But that's all it is. The Elte probably never dreamed that their god won't be able to last much longer in the Second World either. This great destruction is meant to eliminate the obsolete. Only the true strong will be qualified to be reborn in the destruction of the universe. Once we gain a foothold in the Second World, we will sweep them into the trash heap of history."

"That day is not far off, Mr. Speaker," Councilor Salqiongsi said with a smile, his dim eyes brightening as if he could see the future.

At this time, the sacrifice below was basically over. In addition to a crystal sealing a star system, the Elte also offered a cluster of enhanced cells obtained from the ruins seven years ago, while Gustas offered some enhanced test subjects and some mineral planets.

Their contributions were significant, and naturally they gained the Second World envoy's approval, readily joining the battlefield.

Next, several other civilizations made sacrifices one after another, some successful, some failing. But whether successful or not, the offerings would not be returned.

This continued, sometimes quickly, sometimes slowly, for a long time, perhaps a day, perhaps two. Finally, a knock came at Blood瞳's door.

"Lord Number One, the Speaker has asked me to inform you that it's our turn to make a sacrifice."

Blood瞳 sat up from the bed, slowly stretching his limbs. He felt better than ever, all his cells and tissues radiating an active, eager aura, as if anticipating a grand feast.

In the darkness, Blood瞳's eyes glowed faintly red. He slightly parted his lips, revealing a set of white teeth.

"I know..."

"I'll be right there."

"Yes," the attendant outside the door replied, followed by the sound of retreating footsteps.

Blood瞳 took a hot bath and changed into a brand new combat suit before leaving the room... His blood was boiling, his cells were ravenous. It was time... to eat.

In the vast void, the 'ring' of countless warships still stretched endlessly. But as the human spaceship left the formation, it attracted everyone's attention.

Blood瞳 and Brute stood at the front of the assault ship, with the Speaker and Councilor Salqiongsi watching from behind.

Their expressions were both cold, as if they were cast from the same mold. But Brute's coldness was a lonely rejection, while Blood瞳's coldness was a disregard for enemies.

The assault ship nimbly approached the altar, then shrank and disappeared in a sudden burst of light.

The next moment, Blood瞳 and Brute appeared on the altar with their team. Not far above their heads was the Second World envoy. From this angle, they couldn't see the envoy's appearance clearly, only feeling that it was a ball of hot, bright light, like a burning sun.

In the light, the envoy's mental energy boomed.

"You are the envoys of humanity?"

"What are your offerings?"

Blood瞳 and Brute exchanged a look, then silently presented their offerings. Blood瞳's offering was naturally the stolen other-dimensional space, while Brute's offering was a set of strange cards. Sensing the eerie spatial fluctuations on the cards, Blood瞳 couldn't help but be slightly stunned.

This set of cards was also a kind of other-dimensional seal, just with a different sealing method. Humans wouldn't use this kind of seal, so the only possibility was that Brute's offering was also stolen.

Looking at Brute's calm expression, Blood瞳 couldn't help but feel amused in his heart.

So the human offerings were all empty gloves?? Where did this Speaker find so many oddballs?

At the same time, he heard an angry roar in his ear. "That is my tribe's offering! You despicable, cowardly thieves, butchers! Lord Envoy, their sacrifice has no sincerity and they plundered the offerings of others. I request that you punish them!!" (To be continued.
