Complex Romance

Teresa was preparing to sleep when suddenly Tommy knocked on her door, he wanted to ask how she was doing. To him, she looked fine during dinner, but he knew that she was keeping her worries to herself, locking herself up in a box just because she did not want to spoil the mood and did not want her family to be worried about her.

"Are you feeling better now? If you have any worries or frustrations you could always talk to me, I'm all ears." said Tommy in a gentle and careful tone to make sure he was not invading her privacy again.

His words were so gentle that it touched Teresa's heart, it made her feel that she was so blessed to have someone caring so much about her. She thought that she was fine already, she thought that everything was over already, but after she heard what Tommy said, she felt overwhelmed. She did not know why, but she felt like crying.

"I did like what you said. I told him off. I'm not a sissy right? Right..." she said as her voice broke and tears were dropping down like raindrops.

Seeing what had happened, Tommy panicked and quickly closed her room door as he knew she wouldn't want their parents to see her crying. Just as the room door closed, it opened again as Teresa's fourth brother, Jayden came in. Tommy and Teresa were shocked to see him as he was the cold type of person who did not care much about anything. Tommy quickly went towards the door to lock it to avoid others from coming in again.

He then asked Jayden, "What are you doing here? I thought you were watching your movie."

"Why I'm here is not important, the problem is why is she crying?" Jayden asked as he continued on, "I knew that something was wrong ever since you came out of her room this afternoon."

"It's nothing Jay, don't worry I'm fine." Said Teresa.

"What's fine? Today is your birthday and you are crying? Did Tom bully you? If he did just tell me I will tell mum, I'm sure mum won't let him off" Jayden replied.

"Hey, hey, I'm not the one who bullied her. It's..." Before Tommy could finish his sentences, he stopped as he wanted to keep this a secret for Teresa because it was her private matter and it was not good to tell others without her permission.

"It's who?" Jayden asked straightforwardly.

"Hey, you brat, what's with your cold tone. And when did you become a busybody?" said Tommy.

And the two of them started to talk back at each other, Tommy was a sunshine boy while Jayden was a cold type of person, so it was funny to see the both of them argue.

"Hahahahaha, why are my brothers so funny and childish?" Said Teresa.

"Who is childish?" Said Jayden and Tommy as they looked at their sister, who was laughing. They were relieved to see their sister's smile again.

"Haizz, you finally smiled." Said Tommy in a relieved tone as he continued on, "It's your birthday today, you should be happy you know? It's late already and you seem fine now, so we will leave you alone, remember to talk to us if you have any problems, we will always be by your side to help you. Sleep early okay. Good night."

"Okay, I know. Good night and sleep early to you guys." replied Teresa.

After talking, Tommy unlocked her room door and went out as he was pushing Jayden out too.
