Crystalline Universe: Team Fortress 2/ Overwatch

The kitchen was quiet as a church house. The only sound was the occasional sipping of coffee. Kady and Krafton both stared at the table without a word.

[Kady] - "I don't know... Krafton. What happened last night is... unusual. "

[Krafton] - "Mike is Segreto... we need to do something about it. "

[Kady] - "Huh? How do you know? "

[Krafton] - "You told me last night. "

Kady thought for a second. She remembered that she indeed revealed what Azur told her to Krafton last night but on the other hand, she also didn't remember ever telling him.

[Kady] - "Wait... I think I did... "

[Krafton] - "That's beside the point! Do you have any idea how much did that information meant to us? "

[Kady] - "No? "

[Krafton] - "He is the key to our glory. We can kill him and become heroes of the empire. "

[Kady] - "Kill him? We should just report him to the authorities! "

[Krafton] - "Kady, sweetheart, you don't understand! We are two demi-humans without any significant status within the empire. We are discriminated against and looked down upon by those so-called true humans! If we kill Mike, our lives will change! We will be able to become powerful, we will be beyond those stupid humans! "

There is a strange excitement inside Krafton's voice that Kady didn't understand.

[Kady] - "How are you going to kill him? Do you think he is just going to allow himself to be killed? "

[Krafton] - "First of all, he is within Judge's ability, so he will be deprived of his ability. Second of all, I have the right connections to get close to him. Everything is aligned for us to become the empire's heroes! "

[Kady] - "But... but... What about our future? Didn't we agree to start a family? "

[Krafton] - "Kill Mike first, then we will be able to pursue that future! I promise you, once Mike is dead, our future will be brighter than the sun! Our children will have the future they deserve unlike us now. "

Kady could see the hatred inside Krafton's eyes. Krafton wanted nothing more than the glory that awaited him, he wanted revenge against the humans who looked down on him. Kady's safety is secondary as long as he can obtain ultimate respect and power.

[Kady] - "Alright... I'll do it. "

[Krafton] - "That's the spirit! I have been planning all night for this. Now, I will introduce you to him as a very competent secretary. I will rig the strings to have Mike's current secretary eliminated so you can take his place. "

[Kady] - "That's why you didn't come to bed last night? "

[Krafton] - "I care for our future! One night is nothing compared to the greatness that awaits us. "

Krafton pulled out a bunch of documents alongside a photo of Mike's current secretary.

[Kady] - "You are going to kill him? "

[Krafton] - "I'll do whatever it takes. Killing or manipulation are both great options. "

[Kady] - "He is nothing but a secretary! If we are going to kill Mike, let's spare the people not involved in this affair! "

[Krafton] - "You'll have to learn to not be so soft when it comes to serious affairs. You'll have to kill when the situation calls for it. Now, let me work. "

After leaving the kitchen, Kady headed toward the stairs when suddenly, she felt a cold breath on her shoulder. She quickly turned around to see no one behind her. Thinking she was just paranoid, she ignored the weird feeling and walked up the stairs. Although she tried to convince herself that everything was of her imagination, she can't help but feel a strange presence around her. Almost as if an invisible pair of eyes were watching her.

Mike woke up to the sound of an alarm on his nightstand. He slowly opened his eyes to the sight of a strangely familiar bedroom. At first, he didn't bother with the sight but when his mind finally came to him, he suddenly opened his eyes to see that he is sleeping in the bed of his burned-down house. He looked around to his shock to see that this is the same bedroom he shared with Kadyn a few years ago.

[Mike] - "What the fuċk... What the actually bloody fuċk? "

Cried Mike in a state of shock.

[Kadyn] - "Hm? What are you screaming about, Gio? "

Mike turned to see Kadyn in bed beside him. With a scream of terror and surprise, Mike jumped out of bed and started to back off as if he has seen a ghost.

[Kadyn] - "Why are you acting like? Is there something wrong? "

[Mike] - "No, no, no... this is a dream. You are not real! "

Mike used his ability to pierce a small hole on his leg but to his shock, the injury actually hurt.

[Kadyn] - "Did you have a nightmare? "

[Mike] - "Don't talk to me, you filthy traitor! "

Mike immediately pointed his hand toward Kadyn.

[Mike] - "You have brought this upon yourself! First you lied to me, now you cast this sorcery upon me! I will kill you! I WILL KILL YOU! "

Mike could see a genuine sign of worry and fear inside Kadyn's eyes but he was too consumed by anger to care.

[Kadyn] (in a fearful voice) - "What are you talking about, Mike? What happened to you? Why are you like this? "

[Mike] (In a rage-filled voice) - "SHUT UP! DIE, TRAITOR! "

Kadyn started to cry while holding her pregnant belly but Mike was too consumed by hatred to care about anything. Without hesitation, he launched a massive energy blast toward Kadyn but before the attack could reach her, the reality in front of him shattered into a billion pieces. Before long, Mike found himself in a dark endless void.

[Mike] - "Hehe... this is indeed a trick. You got me for the first few minutes, I'll have to admit. But that doesn't mean this is over! Once I figure out everything around me, I will come for you. You have played me for too long and I hate it when my prey keeps escaping. "

The days went on...

With the help of a mercenary, Krafton was able to eliminate Segreto's secretary through a skillfully orchestrated car accident. Through his connections within the empire, he was able to get in touch with Segreto and propose a well-disguised Kady as a possible option for replacing his previous secretary. Surprisingly Segreto accepted the offer and took Kady as his secretary.

The plan is set and Kady moved into Segreto's office in the imperial capital of Beijing, which is under the influence of Judge's ability.

Today is Kady's first day at work as an undercover ȧssassin. After settling her stuff at her desk, she prepared to begin her work when the door to her office suddenly opened.

[Segreto] - "Good day, miss Sperenza. "

[Sperenza] (in a nervous voice) - "Good day, mister Segreto. "

Segreto gently closed the door behind him. Although Segreto showed her a warm smile, she could fear nothing but coldness and intimidation.

[Segreto] - "Now, I just want to explain a few of my expectations from my secretaries. "

[Sperenza] - "Of course, sir. "

[Segreto] - "You see, the military is serious business and I want transparency when you present me with information. Do not try to lie to me, I know it when the people around me lie. I can see through lies! "

Said Segreto as he stared into Kady's eyes.

[Segreto] - "I'm going to be honest with you. I've dealt with a few spies in the past and they didn't live long enough to even spy on me past their first day at work. "

Kady trembled in fear. Segreto spoke as if he knew that she was an undercover agent. His regard pierced through her soul and left her on the edge of panic.

[Segreto] - "On the other side of things, I expect quality work from you. I will not tolerate delays, incompetency or laziness. I fought in this war for years, archived dozens of victories in battle and saw the blood of men paint the ground red, so I will not hesitate to remove problems even if it means removing problematic people from existence. "

The cold-hearted cruelty in Segreto's voice painted the basic picture for Kady about who Mike truly is. A merciless tyrant who killed millions.

Later, while working on a report about the current situation on the western front, Kady suddenly found herself in total darkness. At first, she thought it was a power outage but she soon realized that nothing around her exist. Her desk, her computer and the space around her were all replaced with void and darkness.

[Kady] - "Oh no... this is bad. Not the visions again! "

All of a sudden, an arm appeared around her neck and started to choke her. She turned her head to see a young man that looked oddly familiar. She could not remember who he is but she quickly ȧssumed that he is Mike.

[Mike] - "I thought I'm trapped here forever but thankfully, you delivered yourself to me! "

She struggled to break free but Mike's grip is too powerful for her to escape. Her vision blurred before she slowly faded into unconsciousness. The next thing she knew, she woke up inside her office. After making sure that everything around her is in order, Kady brushed the vision off as a bad dream.

Mike, on the other hand, woke up in an unknown location in a huge city. Although he is confused about everything that just happened, he is at least no longer in the endless void.
