Ye Fan stopped what she was doing and looked up at him.

He Han was leaning slightly against the edge of the table in front of her. His gaze slowly fell to the red mark on her wrist.

“I’ve been paying attention to it,” Ye Fan responded. “It should be better in a few days.”

He Han nodded and didn’t say anything.

In the silence, he pulled a chair over next to Ye Fan with a creak, then he sat down.

He did nothing and said nothing, but Ye Fan couldn’t just drive him away either.

They just sat together in silence for a while.

Ye Fan suddenly thought of something. “My fans brought you a gift.”

He Han responded, “Really?”

After they met at Cheng Ping’s house that day, they haven’t been getting along as naturally as they did before.

Even though they worked on the same set every day, they would put their all into their acting.

But after they got off the stage, they didn’t communicate much.

He Han stopped saying those things that sounded obvious before either.

Ye Fan couldn’t figure him out, and she didn’t know how to respond either.

She handed the gift to He Han. “Dudu is still waiting for me so I’ll be taking my leave.”

He Han hummed a response and fell silent again after receiving the gift.

Picking up her bag, Ye Fan left in a hurry.

He Han sat there, watching her back as she left.

His eyes grew darker but it didn’t reveal his emotions.

Ye Fan was so stubborn. It seems like he’ll have to start elsewhere if he wants her to loosen up.

Ye Fan finally made a decision.

In order to not let He Han find out Dudu’s identity, she decided to bring Dudu to Cheng Ping’s house less.

The more often he goes there, the higher chance the chance that Dudu will be found out.

Ye Fan knew that this wasn’t fair for Auntie Cheng. Auntie Cheng helped her out a lot when she saw how difficult it was for her to take care of Dudu alone.

But Ye Fan didn’t dare to take the risk. Dudu’s origin was like a large rock weighing down on her chest.

Ye Fan couldn’t put her mind at ease. Just the thought of Dudu being taken away from her put her mind in disarray.

After finding an excuse, she told Nanny Li as well.

Now, it has been a few days since Dudu visited Cheng Ping’s house.

As soon as she finished work today, Ye Fan immediately rushed home.

She didn’t have many scenes at work these days and she would stay at home with Dudu anytime she was free.

“Dudu.”

In order to keep him happy, Ye Fan even bought him new toys.

After returning from outside, Ye Fan entered her home.

Strangely enough, Dudu didn’t run over to her as usual with a smile on his face.

Ye Fan hung her umbrella to the side and casually patted the rainwater off her jacket.

Dudu was sitting on the couch in the living room with his back turned away from Ye Fan.

His small little body was sunken into the sofa.

He didn’t even move when he heard Ye Fan return.

Ye Fan could tell that even though Dudu wasn’t looking over, he still took a peek at her.

His ears were perked and he was listening to Ye Fan’s footsteps.

Dudu was twiddling his fingers together, showing his true emotions.

The TV in the living room was on and it was in the middle of airing the series, “Lurking in the Bund”.

He Han’s part just happened to be playing.

It seems like Dudu had been watching that from before.

Nanny Li was at the side, giving Ye Fan a look.

Ye Fan signaled that she understood and had Nanny Li head back into the room first. She’ll deal with it alone.

Ye Fan went in front of Dudu and noticed his frowning little face. His small little mouth was pouting.

Ye Fan asked in a gentle voice, “What’s wrong, baby?”

She touched Dudu’s head softly.

Dudu was just a child. He couldn’t hold his tongue.

After pursing his lips, he couldn’t help himself and blurted it all out to Ye Fan.

Dudu asked in his tender voice.

“Mama, why don’t you let me go to Auntie’s house?”

Dudu was confused. There was Auntie, Big Sis Xiaoxiao, and even Uncle there.

He liked everyone there. It made him happy.

Ye Fan was unable to make Dudu understand so she was silent for a while.

“Because Mama is scared of troubling Auntie. Auntie and them have their own things to do so let’s go again in a few days, okay?”

Dudu blinked his wet eyes. “But Dudu is very good.”

When Ye Fan saw Dudu like this, her heart ached.

She herself had no idea whether this was the right or wrong thing for her to do.
