Ch.318 Telling the Truth (3)

Jian Lan was staring straight at that person.

At that moment, the person turned slightly sideways, and her profile came into Jian Lan's view. She had beautiful features and a cool temperament.

Ye Fan.

Jian Lan's eyes flickered.

Every time she saw Ye Fan, she could feel a strange and indescribable feeling well up within her.

The first time she saw her, and even the first time she saw Ye Fan on TV, that feeling was ever-present.

The people around her were still talking to her. Jian Lan's face did not change, but her eyes were still trailing towards Ye Fan whether intentionally or unintentionally.

After the other madams finished speaking, Jian Lan was still watching Ye Fan.

After a while, Jian Lan noticed that there was nobody around Ye Fan. Only then did she decide to approach her.

Ye Fan was holding a wine glass, her fingers lightly resting on the top. It was a simple action, but it looked extraordinarily elegant when done by Ye Fan.

Jian Lan walked to Ye Fan's side and stopped.

Sensing that someone had stopped next to her, Ye Fan looked over and was slightly stunned at what she saw.

It was her.

Jian Lan spoke first. "You're Ye Fan, aren't you?"

There was a light smile on her face. "We met that day."

The day she went to look for Tang Jin and accidentally sprained her foot, and then bumping into Ye Fan. That was the first time the two of them met.

Ye Fan said politely, "Hello, Mrs. Tang."

She had a detached attitude, but she wasn't indifferent.

Jian Lan smiled. "I have to thank you for that day."

Ye Fan shook her head and asked out of concern. "Is your leg any better now?"

Ye Fan could feel complicated emotions welling up in her heart when she looked at Jian Lan. This was her biological mother, yet Jian Lan knew nothing about this.

They were family, but they were so much like strangers right now.

Jian Lan's heart swelled with warmth. "It's fine now."

She remembered something and said, "I watched the 'Superstar Project'. Both you and Tang Jin are participating in it."

Ye Fan had no idea that Jian Lan never watched any shows relating to Tang Jin. It was because of her that Jian Lan watched the program for the first time.

Then, Jian Lan added, "Out of so many people, I have to say your performance was most excellent."

Ye Fan was stunned. Why would Jian Lan tell her this?

Jian Lan looked at Ye Fan, eyes brushing past the eyes that look so similar to her own. Unexpectedly, she asked a question.

"Could you tell me when you started learning to play the violin?"

Ye Fan froze, but she still spoke, "I've always liked music very much. When I was young..."

Ye Fan's voice landed softly in Jian Lan's ears.

Jian Lan couldn't tell why, but even though she had only met Ye Fan twice, she was eager to know everything about her, and she liked this feeling of wanting to learn about her little by little.

She would unconsciously smile every time she spoke with Ye Fan.

As if a missing chunk of her heart was slowly being filled up.

Jian Lan asked Ye Fan some questions, and she answered them all patiently and seriously.

Jian Lan watched Ye Fan. Her each and every move was extremely elegant. She was a cut above the rest, and she could tell she had a good upbringing.

Jian Lan suddenly had a thought.

She was a little curious to know what kind of people Ye Fan's parents were to be able to raise a fine daughter like Ye Fan.

This thought went by in a flash, leaving behind only a shallow trace.

She had no idea why, but Jian Lan's heart felt like something was tugging on it. She felt stuffy as if something unexpected had happened in her life that she knew nothing about.

Jian Lan pressed down her emotions. It was getting late and she still had things to do. Smiling, she said, "We both get along pretty well."

This conversation tonight was the greatest thing to happen to her.

Ye Fan smiled.

Jian Lan, "Let's see each other again sometime in the future."
