Danger Zone

Chapter 183 - It's Been Long

Daime is sitting near the balcony of their apartment while watching the birds that are migrating to the southwest border of Switzerland. Mischka is not around because of work and it was only him and Francis inside the apartment.

The Beta is sipping his coffee while Daime is enjoying the breeze from the opened door of the balcony. It has been weeks since the re-opening of his grandfather's tavern and the business has been booming.

The employees are very happy with the renovation and the promotion that Francis has been doing for the tavern. Now, more tourists visit the place that was once a dull-looking old restaurant.

Daime sighs and before looking back at Francis, who is typing away his report to be sent to the court tomorrow. The latter has been working on with this particular case but stopped when Drax asked for his help.

The help to buy the tavern legally, in which the Beta said yes immediately. He did not wait anymore days before saying yes since he has known Daime for two years now.

The first time they met was in a restaurant at the outskirts of Swiss Alps. Daime was doing his training mission at that time and accidentally met this frail Beta, who he cared of and they eventually became friends.

And that frail Beta is Francis. Well, at that time, Francis doesn't want to tell Daime his real name and the Alpha doesn't want to call him any random name or any endearment that may offend the Beta.

So in exchange, Daime called him as Francis while the Beta called Daime by his nickname, Syle. The Alpha heaves a heavy breath before asking the Beta a certain question that he has been wanting to ask since earlier.

"Do you think tomorrow is a good time?"

The Beta stops from typing his report and sips on his cup before looking at the Alpha with a confused face. As he stares at the Alpha straight in the eyes, he ends up realizing what he meant.

"Oh, you mean… that?"

The Alpha nods his head as he sips on his own cup of coffee and sighs at the Beta. Francis puts down his cup and thinks for a moment before chuckling.

"Well, anytime can be a good time since you are already out of the dreadful house. No one can stop you now."

"You're right. I just need to find the perfect time then."

Francis nods in agreement and goes back to typing his report before sending it to the court and goes back to his original work of promoting the tavern to the public so it can gain a position as the most visited restaurant in town.

"Oh, my goodness. I need some fresh air! Why do I feel so nervous?"

Francis laughs at the Alpha while typing. Anyone will be nervous when you are bout to propose to your Omega that you have been waiting and wanting to have.

It is normal. But he knows why the Alpha is so nervous in proposing. Because this one is not for a show. No one will be around and it will just be only them.

He picks up his phone and contacts Marlene to get Mischka ready and distracted while Daime fixes his surprise proposal. The words that he needed to say and the feelings that he needed to feel for that time will all be raw.

Francis is hoping for the Alpha to stutter but even if he doesn't, the Beta knows that Daime will stutter at some point in his proposal.

"It will be funny if you stutter."

A swift scent from the Alpha perks up his nose and he immediately runs for his life, not bothering to pick up his things and just sprint towards the guest room.

"I can't believe you! Why would you wish something like that?! FRANCIS!"

The Beta only chuckles inside the room and sighs. If only his brother will treat his the same way Daime treats him, they will be together or he won't run away from home.

But nonetheless, Francis is happy when he met the young Alpha. The Beta is even taller than Daime at that time and he kind of sworn to protect the Alpha. But after finding out that Daime is an Alpha and a Santoro, the awkwardness starts to circulate between them.

That awkwardness only ended when Daime confesses that he was not supposed to be a Santoro since his father is not a Santoro and he even told Francis his darkest secret, in which the latter thought that he was just joking.

He treated that as a joke until he realized that he was just trying to run away from the fact that the Alpha was once like that. He confronted Daime that night and promised that he will not reveal it to others.

He also promised that he will still be friends with the Alpha and will not judge him about his past. Since he doesn't want to ask for the reason why he did that or was he really the one who did.

Thinking about it now made Francis goes out of the guest room and finds Daime searching something that resembles a garden with a gazebo at the center. He remembers the place and chuckles at the Alpha.

"You are going to propose at that place?"

Daime looks at the Beta with a scowl on his face and shakes his head.

"I was thinking about it and remembered what happened at this place, so no. I am looking for more beautiful places."

Francis shakes his head and takes the laptop away from the Alpha. He closes it down before throwing him one of the marketing flyers from the tavern, making the Alpha confused yet curious.

"Take a look at it and decide."

Daime takes the flyer and looks at the pictures behind it. He smiles and thanks the Beta for the suggestion. How stressful was he to not think of the tavern's garden as the perfect place to propose to Mischka?

"Time to decorate the gazebo!"
