Danger Zone
Chapter 203 - Chat And Apology
Nigel rushed to his office after talking to Alfred about his plan. The Alpha caught him talking to a nurse while doing rounds and invited him for a coffee and a small talk. The Omega said no at first, thinking that the Alpha would've want to reconcile things with him and cheat with his life mate.
But Alfred's persuasion took a toll on the Omega and eventually said yes to him. Alfred thanked him for taking his offer and walked towards his office, leaving the Omega with confusion with what to expect later when they talked.
Nigel never expected it. He never expected their topic being that vulgar and straight to the point. He stared at the Alpha while he was explaining the pros and cons of his plan for a specific patient before looking if Nigel is sucking up every information he was spouting for minutes now.
At the end, Nigel asked him to stop as he took a deep breath and let the information went straight to his mind and processed everything. It may take time but he knew what was the purpose of the whole ordeal.
"So, you were saying, I need to donate all of my clothes to him whenever he was in a rut and vice versa?"
Alfred nodded enthusiastically, making the Omega doctor sighed beyond belief. He never thought such a process done before since both pairs won't be satisfied if one is missing and the other one is being in pain.
"Do you really think that your plan will work? Even if there are more cons than pros?"
Alfred stopped for a moment before nodding to the Omega. He was not sure about this plan, to be honest. He was not sure if it will work but they will not know if he will not try to make it work.
"I am pretty sure."
Nigel doubted it. He could see the doubt in Alfred's eyes but he never said anything. He only nod and sighed at the determined Alpha before giving his permission to deliver his clothes when his brute and dangerous fated pair go to heat.
"Thank you so much for this, Nigel. Don't worry, I will make sure that this will work."
"It better be."
With that, Nigel stood up and walked away from the Alpha before his drenching scent attached to him, that will make him puke afterwards. Alfred's scent was too mild for Nigel but for some reason, his scent was making him puke.
At first, he thought that he might've just hate the Alpha for not stepping and fight for their relationship back in college but that was the past now. What he need to face was the future with his unavoidable Alpha that the heavens put up with him.
"What kind of punishment is this? Why him, of all Alphas in the world?"
Walking while thinking was never the option to begin with. The varieties of accidents that may occur while doing so are inevitable. No one was prone to any damage such as getting tripped or bumping to someone.
In Nigel's case, he bumped into the person he never expected to meet in this facility. The man, who was bigger, taller and bulkier than him, bowed his head and said his apologies to the Omega.
The excitement that he felt was completely abandoned with fear of getting caught and getting mated in no time, making his mind think of different scenarios that could happen but he did not expect for the Alpha to say sorry.
Knowing the Alpha to be brutal and dangerous, evident to what happened to Aiden, he was surprised to see this side from the Alpha. The calm and collected one that he thought will never see at all.
Instead of saying anything, the Omega just bowed back and rushed back to his office to hide. Remembering the sweet scent of sandalwood and coffee that surround the Alpha, he sprinted towards his office while his secretary was looking at him, curiously.
"What happened, boss? Were you chased somewhere?"
Nigel looked at his secretary and chuckled. He shook his head and went to his chair as he breathed out and remembered the scent from the Alpha. Feeling lonely after bumping against the broad Alpha, he asked his secretary to buy some new scents for his humidifier.
"Which scent would you like? Vanilla again?"
The Omega usually nod his head to his secretary since she already knew what scents he would like for his humidifier. But this time, a different answer came back to the Beta woman, making her think what had happened to his boss.
"Nope. I want sandalwood and coffee."

Primo smiles at the nurse who injects him his daily dose of sedative to lower down the possibility of him going feral any minute. The female nurse is about to leave his room when he asks her for another favor.
"Are you sure about that, Alpha? Why do you need it, though?"
The Alpha only chuckles and sits down properly on his bed. Crossing his legs towards him and looking straight at the Beta woman and laughs.
"Cause I want to preserve it."
His answer did not satisfy the woman, making her look at him with a dead pan expression and waits for the Alpha to fully tell her or even give her the reason as to why he is asking for a scent blocker.
"Fine. I met my Omega earlier and I don't want him to get overwhelmed with my scent whenever our paths cross each other. I want him to feel the need to be calm and making sure that he won't think that I am dangerous just because I look like this."
The Beta woman nods at the Alpha and immediately writes down what scent blocker he might need for his to be blocked successfully. But one thing has been pounding in her mind as well.
The reason of preservation does not add up with his answer from earlier. She knows that the Alpha is still not telling her the whole reasons, making her look at the Alpha again, straight in his eyes.
"As for the preservation, I don't want anyone sensing my scent other than my mate. I don't want anyone knowing what scent I carry except for my life mate.
That's why I need any scent blocker available."
With this, the nurse is satisfied with his answer and bows to him before leaving his room. Primo leans back to his bed and looks up to the white ceiling with a single light in his room.
The single light reminds him of his life mate. The single person that can light up his whole world filled with darkness and sacrificial things. If the light symbolizes his mate, then the whole room symbolizes him.
Big, wide but at the same time, compacted. The small space reminds him, everything that he hides away from. The things that he throws away the moment he steps out of the Santoro house.
The ceiling reminds him of how high he needs to reach to see the goals that Grandmama set up for him. But the Alpha chose not to reach them or he will totally loose himself from her grasp.
The hospital bed reminds him of the cold bed that he and his brother slept on before when they first arrived at the house, using their strengths as a slave and punishing them when they don't do anything that Grandmama required them to do.
The television reminds him at how small the world is. Anything can happen and no one can escape karma when it strikes. Even Primo who had been dodging it for almost half of his life is already feeling it after sometime.
"What a life. I wished for it to be fruitful but, I was too focused to someone else's goal that I forgot my own goals.
I even hurt Aiden in the process."
The Alpha closes his eyes and tries to sleep his worries away when he remembers something that might actually help him with courting his life mate. He looks for a piece of paper and lists everything that he knows from his mate.
From his name to the scent that he wears, Primo enumerates them as if he is taking a major exam that requires his whole life in the process. He grabs a pen and starts listing everything down before stopping when he realizes that he only knows his mate's initials.
"Shit. Did the package ever said his name? Or it was just his initials?"
He looks for the box that carried the shirt from his life mate and sees if there is a clue that might narrow down his name. After knowing that his mate might've been working at the facility, the information made him completely excited of knowing him fully.
But he knew that the Omega will be intimidated or shy with his presence. So, Primo hatches a plan to take things slowly. As slow as an old turtle, walking by the beach, feeling the muddy sand against his feet.
"I can do this."
His little encouragement to himself, as he searches for more clues for the identity of his mate.
"I will be the best Alpha you would ever had. I will promise that. Just you wait, my Omega."
But Alfred's persuasion took a toll on the Omega and eventually said yes to him. Alfred thanked him for taking his offer and walked towards his office, leaving the Omega with confusion with what to expect later when they talked.
