Danger Zone
Chapter 214 - Their First Lunch Date
Primo is sitting across from Nigel at a small cafe table in a cozy little restaurant called 'Eff Es'.
The Alpha is simply leaning his chin on his hand, watching and listening to the Omega talk about all his favorite things and his past memories in University and even his past relationship with Alfred.
Over-talking seems to be a habit of his, not that Primo minds at all. He likes listening to his high, smooth voice, and watching his hands flutter around; making shapes in the air to illustrate his words.
He is so gone for this pretty male, and he can't even care at this point. After months of thinking that Nigel had want nothing to do with him, he is now on a date with him. Life is good.
"…I always like purple best, but Alliana likes pink. So our kitchen is painted in purple but we have pink plates and stuff, so that we both get to be happy. Did I tell you that she is my sister?
Well… she is, and she's also an Omega. She's the one who puts up with all of my bullshits back in uni and I owe half of my stressful and fucked up life to her.
Without her, I am probably not here right now. I am so thankful that I have her as my sister. She is also happy that I met my Alpha which is you, but I think I forgot to tell her about your past since I never thought she might need it.
I mean, how could I? She might use it as a black mail in the future if you ever hurt me or if something happens to me. I hate it when people says that they care about me when they only care about themselves.
Even if she is my sister, she should not be nosy of other peoples businesses..."
Nigel trails off from his monologue, realizing what he has just said. His eyes falls away from the Alpha's face and down to the table, his little hands suddenly twisting in his lap as the Omega bites his quivering lip.
Primo hates the way his Omega seems to curl in on himself, he knows that insecurity is probably born of his relationship with his ex, and again he feels the impulse to go find the Alpha and kick the ever-loving shit out of him.
But his words struck something inside Primo. He told his sister about him? He was touched, and suddenly feels like the worst asshole in the universe for having such a dangerous past. Even if it did give him a little satisfaction to know that the Omega had pined for him.
"You told your sister about me?"
Nigel doesn't want to respond, just continues to wring his hands and abuses his lip with his perfect, white teeth. The Alpha reaches across the table and lays his hand in front of the upset Omega, palm up. An offering.
"It's okay, my Omega. It's okay even if you tell your sister about my past. So, I can prove myself to her when we meet in the future."
Nigel hesitates for a moment, then slowly put his hands into the Alpha's, the cool tips of his fingers delicately resting against the Alpha's warm palm. The Omega purses his lips and raises one hand giving them three quick little smacks, as if he is telling off his own mouth.
"Don't do that, little Omega. I like to hear you talk. I don't mind listening to you over-share. And… don't worry about your sister.
I can take care of her. I will prove to her that I am no longer a scary Alpha and I can protect you. I didn't want to scare you more or make you feel pressured to do something out of fear or even out of gratitude if you didn't want to."
Nigel reaches up and touches the Alpha's face with his fingertips. The Alpha unconsciously licks his lip, tongue grazing over the Omega's skin and making him gasp.
The black haired Alpha watches in fascination as the Omega's cheeks tinted pink and he pulls his hand back. As if he didn't realize what he is doing, the Omega puts his wet fingertips to his own lips and swipes a pink tongue across the pads of his fingers.
Primo feels as if an inferno has ignites beneath his skin at the sight, and shifts in his chair. Just at that moment, their food came.
The Alpha has never felt so happy to be interrupted. Sure, he wants the Omega, wants him badly. But he is a virgin, innocent and inexperienced in relationships.
Even after being in a relationship with Alfred for so long back in uni, he is still inexperience at some level. And… Nigel is special.
The Alpha is going to court this soft little Omega with all the decorum as if his grandmother is playing chaperon. He wants more than sex from this Omega. He wants to be his Alpha.
He wants the Omega to trust him and look to him for guidance, protection and love. His partner in the truest sense, and he would have to earn it, or he doesn't deserve him. The tense atmosphere dispelled as they eat their lunch.
Nigel returns to his rambling between bites, and the Alpha just listens, occasionally adding in a few words of his own or an anecdote about himself and his past.
As he listens, he realizes that Nigel doesn't curse at all, and he only said nice things about the people he speaks about. Except for Alicia, who he calls as bitch. But other than that, nothing.
It was incredibly endearing.
After the Alpha pays for their meal, he and Nigel take a walk, by the river. The Alpha can't help but be amused at the way his date seems to naturally walk with grace in every step he takes.
Passersby watches the odd couple with surprise. The two can't be more different but somehow, they seem to fit together. They are such an unusual juxtaposition, like a tiny white kitten who is friends with a big dog, like a pit bull or a Rottweiler.
And the way they look at each other is undeniable. Primo's half-smile and fond eyes watches the Omega, and Nigel looks up at the Alpha with a shy admiration, smile wide and eyes curved into little crescents.
