Danger Zone
Chapter 58 - A Dilemma
After Daime listens to Primo's side of the story, he realizes that his cousin holds the deepest and darkest secrets of their family. And only Primo has that.
"So, that is the reason why Mr. Haesboren is not at the engagement party."
Primo nods at Daime as they proceed back to whatever they are doing earlier.
"So, next are the Microllis."
Primo frowns because he never heard such a surname before in Switzerland. He shakes his head, making Daime frowns at his response.
"Hm. They are probably unknown all over Switzerland."
Primo is the one who frowns at this time. He looks over the phone and checks if Daime is reading the right surname or he is just making things up.
Daime looks at Primo before looking back at his phone. He zooms in and points at which name that they are talking about. Primo chuckles as he looks at Daime before shaking his head.
"It's Mirollins. The "C" is silent."
Daime stutters and laughs alongside Primo. It is a laugh that caught some of the girls' attention because the two are already handsome as they are.
And when they laugh, they become more handsome. Aiden is at the racing machine when he hears them laugh. He peeks over them and smiles.
"They look like they are enjoying whatever they are doing there."
Aiden unknowingly smile before noticing that the music starts pumping, making him realize that the race in the machine is about to begin.
"Oh shit! It's beginning! Let's go!"
Back to Primo and Daime, the younger Santoro continue to scroll down the pages of the names of the top five most influential family in Switzerland.
"We are at top four now and it's your worst enemy's family, Prim."
Primo looks over before scoffing away. The next name written is Schruffer.
"I didn't know his family is there at the engagement. If only I knew, that person will not be alive today."
If someone had heard their conversation and understands them, they will probably call on the police and get them arrested.
It's a good thing that they are speaking in Dutch rather than English.
"Next is us."
The Santoros.
The Santoro family lives a long life of strict military rules that most of the guys in the family needs to follow. They also have that tradition that they still carry up until this century.
That tradition is for every ten years old Santoro boys. They will undergo training supervision and weaponry. They will have to take up strict diet plans and fucked up sleep schedule.
This memory made Primo looks at Daime and asks him about his training.
"Mine?"
Daime thinks long and hard to make sure that he will not miss any details about his training. It will only be fair to Primo since he knows what his training regimen is ever since he came back to the mansion at age eighteen.
"Well, I took up class that is way too advanced for the ten years old me. I took advanced algebra, calculus, physics, trigonometry, and sign languages.
I also took up different languages and would practice to speak it for quite some time. My usual missions is to infiltrate the system, thus, Grandmama told me to study computer science and some hacking formulas all from the dark web.
Every day, I need to create a new program with newly invented codes and some other things for Grandmama until I will be part of those Santoros boys who knows how to hack systems and bank information."
Primo nods as he listens through Daime's training regimen. Most of what he heard is far too easy for Primo and it made him a bit pissed that he needs to train the hardest even though he is not a Santoro.
"That is all. How about you?"
It's a common question after sharing what you just had. But it made Daime stop from the usual asking conversation when he realized what he just said.
"Oh no, dude. I am extremely sorry."
Primo looks at him before shaking his head.
"It's fine, kid. I can tell you about mine. But first, Drax is here."
Daime looks to his side and sees their other cousin coming towards them with some files and a mad expression.
"You look like you smoked a stick. What happened?"
Daime looks at Primo and is about to nudge him after what he told Drax. In the mansion, it is a common knowledge that Drax is an avid smoker. Before his sister died due to neglect and prostitution, he smokes for about three packets a day.
But after his sister died, he stopped and went to rehabilitation. According to Drax and his psychiatrist, her death is like a wake-up call to Drax that he needs to fix his life or he will lose another family.
After that, they had never seen him smoke or even drink. Drax tries every method to control himself and it's a good thing that it worked.
"Just a stick, nothing much. Read the file before I burn it into ash."
Primo starts to flip the page of the folder before smirking to nothing.
"This bitch. She wants her life to get ruined, I see."
Both Daime and Drax suddenly feel shivers up to their spine by how Primo reacted. Drax already expect this type of reaction but he is not sure how Primo will counter this.
The Void is nearing and there is nothing they can do about it. Unless Primo has a plan to avoid this dilemma, they are all dead.
"Where are they now?"
Drax looks at him as he heaves a heavy sigh. He is about to tell him when Aiden came towards them and snatch the folder and reads for himself.
"I called Marcus earlier and he said that they are waiting for Grandmama to arrive to JFK airport before they go to Hong Kong and find you there."
Primo nods and looks at Aiden whose eyes are sparkling in excitement. Primo looks at Daime who only shrugs and sighs lowly before looking back to Drax.
"I don't have a plan to avoid this but I surely know how to ruin someone else's life. Do you want to watch how?"
Danger. Everything about Primo is a danger that most people avoid. Aiden hums as Drax searches for a proper answer to his question. He knows that he doesn't have a choice and just say yes.
But there is still that unknown moment of fear and hesitation that just makes him says no. Drax sighs and looks up to the ceiling of the mall as if asking his sister some help to this decision.
After some time, Drax finally gave in and said yes, making Primo smirk dangerously.
"So, that is the reason why Mr. Haesboren is not at the engagement party."
