Danger Zone

Chapter 74 - Piercing Target

Aiden wakes up with something heavy somewhere in his nether regions. It's already afternoon when he wakes up. He leans over and sees Daime's muscled arm around him as he smiles.

He looks over Daime as he leans forward and kisses his nose.

"Good morning."

Daime's eyes open and Aiden almost gasps at the silver eyes that welcome his morning, making him feel the urge to gouch the eyes out and displays it on his shelf.

"Good morning, baby."

Daime smiles and leans forward to kiss Aiden on his lips. It is a chaste kiss; something sweeter than the rough kiss from yesterday.

Aiden hums as the kiss deepen and Daime mounds him, pinning him to the bed again as their tongues dances inside their mouths.

It is a beautiful morning. And it is also a perfect day to commit something that would benefit them all.

Aiden has been planning about this for almost three days now and he even asks for some help to his cousin to relocate the warehouse, in which he accepts and in two days, the warehouse is ready.

"What are you thinking?"

Aiden's eyes snap open when he hears Daime's words before he smiles. He mouths the name "Silica", in which Daime understands immediately.

"So, today is D-Day?"

Aiden nods at Daime as the youngest hums in response.

"What do you need me and Drax do? Just guard the entrance?"

Aiden looks up to those silver eyes before Daime puts his head on Aiden's chest and cuddles with the latter. Aiden looks up to the ceiling as he runs his finger son Daime's hair and chuckles.

"Don't worry. You don't have to do anything. But Drax will."

Daime looks at Aiden, who has a sickening smirk plastered on his beautiful face. The youngest of the Santoro nods before snuggling on Aiden's chest again and sighs contently.

"I wish we could do this forever."

Aiden did not hear what Daime said since the youngest murmurs it, making that Aiden wouldn't hear anything that he says.

Because for a fact that he knows that they couldn't. Daime knows that at the end of everything, Aiden still needs to choose whether it is him or Primo.

Daime shakes off the thought of Aiden choosing him because that would be impossible. Since their history is not something as long as Aiden and Primo's.

"What a tragic ending for me."

This time, Aiden hears it. He looks over to Daime but he just meets Daime's unruly hair. Aiden sighs and tries to remind himself to ask Daime about it later.

For now, they need to think of a proper plan to kidnap Silica without Primo knowing about it.

But knowing Primo, they all bet that Primo would immediately know their plan. He was adopted by the Santoro for a reason.

"Phone…"

Aiden hums and looks over to Daime when the latter stands up and goes to the nightstand.

Daime grabs Aiden's phone from the table underneath the lamp and gives it to Aiden. Aiden thanks him as he follows Daime to the bathroom with his eyes.

Aiden sighs and wonders what is inside Daime's head.

"I wonder what the meaning of the tragic ending that I heard from earlier is."

Aiden looks over his phone as it rings again and sees the familiar number he has been ignoring these past few days.

Aiden sighs and answers the call, bringing the phone near his ears and says hello.

"I hope you are having fun with Daime last night because I will be claiming you when I come home, baby."

Aiden rolls his eyes. He is still mad at Primo for what he did and not sticking to the plan that they already made.

"What can I do for you?"

Aiden snarky reply made Primo flinches a little bit but knowing the latter, it is his only way to talk to Primo or else it will be his lost.

"So feisty, kitten."

Aiden did not expect the pet name but he is not complaining. Daime leans on the tiled walls of the bathroom as he listens to the conversation.

"I called because I have a surprise gift for you. I will be sending you the address after this call. Bring Cassie and the others if you want because I know you will love this, baby."

The phone call ends even before Aiden can answer. He waits for the address before dressing up. He still trusts Primo despite the thing that had happened before.

Daime, who is listening to the conversation, sighs. He puts his head against the wall and chuckles.

"Who am I kidding at? Of course, it will still be him."

While Daime tries to stop the tears from falling down, Aiden knocks on the door and tells him to get ready because they need to go now.

Daime only answers with a hum and wipes his tears away. Washing his face with warm water before taking a bath.

He looks over the shampoos and soaps on the shelf and sighs.

"I need to throw those away when Primo comes back. What a waste."

He finishes washing up and taking a bath. He goes out of the bathroom, anticipating that Aiden is still there, waiting for him to finish dressing up.

"Stupid. That would be impossible."

He is right.

He steps outside the door and looks around as his hearts feel as if millions of daggers have pierced it.

Aiden is no longer there.

"See? I told you."

Talking to himself, preventing for those tears to fall, making sure that no one is listening, it's nothing new for Daime.

"I already accepted my fate."

It is indeed saddening for a lonely soul like him to remain lonely despite the many attempts of him, trying to make Aiden fall for someone like Daime.

"It's impossible. I am not Primo."

Daime will never be Primo. But sometimes he wishes that he is Primo. Since the older gets whatever he wants, including Aiden.

But he knows that he can't.

"I should get ready. I don't want Aiden to wait for long."

He forces a smile that would look natural. He had been practicing this smile for so long. Since he notices that Aiden is more fond of Primo. It is like a signal for him to just back up and move on.

But how can he? When his heart only beats for Aiden.

"Silly me."
