Dark Hunger

Chapter 125 - Why Am I Here?

She licked it a little more and then she closed her lips around it. She started moving her tongue over it as she slid up and down. He pulled his hand from her face to grip the headboard of her bed where he dug his claws. He thrust his shaft into her mouth, going absolutely mindless. Her nails dug in his thighs and she sucked him harder. Up and down. Up and down. His wife was on fire and he wanted to burn in that fire. He wanted to come hard and it was extremely difficult to hold. He let out curses under his breath when she squeezed his balls a little and sucked him. Tremors cruised through his body. He wanted to release in her mouth, in her sheath and over her body. He wanted to mark her with his color. Suddenly, he felt her grazing his cock with her fangs and that was the last he could bear. He roared and came inside her mouth, bucking his hips uncontrollably. In his palms the headrest pulverized. Pleasure surged through him, draining all his tension and stress out.

When he was done, he pulled himself out of her mouth and said, "I want to come inside you mate." Saying that he lowered himself and positioned himself between her thighs. His cock was swelled immediately as soon as it touched her wet core. He pushed himself inside her and his entire body stilled, feeling the familiar warmth of his mate. He started thrusting himself with abandon and soon he came all over again inside her.

He slumped against her, all spent and happy and lazy. His eyes closed and he pulled her closer to him. He smoothed her hair out of her face and brushed them lightly, his eyes becoming heavy. He just wanted to sleep. Earlier he was plagued with thoughts of taking over the reins of his kingdom, addressing his people, returning them their magic, amongst other things. With his mate next to him, Caleb drifted off into much needed sleep. His chest swelled in pride when he came to know how she killed Edyrm. He slept knowing that now dangers in his life were absolutely next to nil. There was nothing that was threatening. He was planning on taking Elize on a tour to the various kingdoms in the Lore for his much-awaited honeymoon, one she hadn't even demanded. She was so patient and caring that he felt guilty for being the luckiest man in the Lore. With Pia he never felt this… good and this… complete.

---

She poked his shoulders with her finger. "You there?" she asked.

He opened his eyes and a hazy vision came in front of him—of a woman who looked pale but he couldn't make out her features. All he remembered was how he rolled and rolled in the snow till those heated red tendrils swirled around him. He had succumbed to the pain when he couldn't take it anymore.

Right now, his skin was still burning and his left side pained a lot. All at once he felt something very cold against his skin and it soothed him. He closed his eyes and then drifted off into the darkness that had surrounded him for so long. Who was the woman?

His dreams were full of a woman, a vampire, the queen of Ixoviya. She had stolen his magic and controlled it so well that his magic acted against him. Those red tendrils lashed again and again at him and his body would shudder involuntarily. He struggled to come out of this state and avenge her. He had to take his magic back, he had to take his Galahar back and he had to kill the vampire.

After being plagued by her dreams for demon-knows how long, when he opened his eyes again, he found himself in a dark room that looked like a cavern. It was dimly lit and the shadows danced on the ceiling. He turned his head to scan it. It seemed he was sleeping on a warm bed. It was very cold but he liked the feel of cold on his skin. The place smelled of herbs.

His eye fell on a woman who was sitting on a chair and was sleeping with her head tipped at the back. His vision was hazy and why was it that he couldn't see from his left eye. He moved his head further left to see the woman.

She had golden hair which was swept back from her face. There was a long scar on her face starting from right forehead to the left side of her chin. She looked familiar. He had seen her only a few days back. Feeling weak and exhausted even by moving his head, he murmured, "Water…"

The woman jerked her eyes open. She stared at him and her eyes widened with surprise. "You are awake?" she said softly and went near him to check him.

"Water…" he murmured again.

She nodded and then rushed to fetch water for him. He heard the noise of water being poured into a goblet. She came back with it. She lifted his head up slightly and then gave him water. He drank it hungrily.

She settled back in her chair. When he met her gaze, he saw her lips tugging up. "Laurel," he said in a low voice. So, the sorceress saved him. She was tortured by Vadin and then her brother had come finding her. Vadin had tortured her for two straight days. Urhan had come with a deal in which he gave them the location of the vampire queen. Unfortunately, when his men had gone to find her in the Yelgra forests, she wasn't there. Along with her men she had cleared the area. The only place that was left for her to come was the Whiteclaw pack. And she had come there.

Urhan had taken his sister away, so what was she doing here in the cave with him? And why did she save him, out of all the people? He hated that his daughter had left him. Arryn had been his constant companion and he missed her.

"Why am I here?" he asked in a hoarse voice.

Laurel smiled. "You need rest, Edyrm," she said. "Once you are fully well, we will talk."

He swallowed his saliva down. Not in a mood to talk any further, he closed his eyes and went off to sleep. He needed his energy.

Laurel saw him drifting off to sleep. She had mixed a sedative in his water. She wanted him to sleep as much as possible in order to regain his strength. She rose to her feet and walked to the cave of the mouth which her brother had identified for her in the mountains that surrounded Wilyra. He wanted her to stay close to him, but Yelgra wasn't the place to be for now the sorcerer king had come back with his wife. He had asked her to lay low.

She tightened her shawl around her and then traced a finger on her scar. "I am coming for you Elize," she murmured. "Soon…"

---

The maids were getting her ready for the banquet that the king had announced to introduce his wife and in honor of Prince Auril.. Elize looked at the crimson gown she was wearing.
