Dark Hunger
Chapter 79 - Confessions
Her beautiful, lovely, gracious and arrogant as hell werewolf was still thinking about her. "I love you!" Elize said and realized that came out in a hoarse voice. "I love you more than I love my life, Caleb. And I will never leave. I will follow you to wherever you go, even in death and beyond that. So don't you ditch me tonight, else I will fight your ass off!" The way she spoke, it came out as a vow rather than a love confession. "So, you better stay with me, else—" she couldn't speak further, for a sob wrecked her body. She doubled over him and rested on his chest and prayed to every god and goddess she knew to heal him fast.
Caleb held her tightly over her chest and drifted off into darkness. Little did he know that she had gotten up and brought a cloth dipped in ice cold water. She had placed it on his forehead again and again to reduce his fever. Once she felt that he was doing better, she placed her head on his chest and then drifted off to sleep. However, she woke up again with him mumbling something. Elize repeated the routine for the second time. Caleb would sometimes respond to her questions and sometimes not. In order to keep him coherent, and to assure herself she teased him a little.
"So how many girlfriends have you had in the past?"
"Many, since high school."
Elize's eyes flew wide open. She growled as jealousy ripped her heart. Those girlfriends were under serious danger. She dipped the cloth in ice water again and asked, "What about Pia? Was she your girlfriend too?" At least he was responding to her questions.
"Yes. Mother was insistent that I marry her."
"And you loved her?" She knew she shouldn't have asked this question, because he would have obviously loved her. And of course, she hated the way that question stabbed at her heart. Maybe she could bring Pia back to life and kill her again.
"I think I loved her."
His answer threw her off. "What do you mean by that?"
"It wasn't what I have with you."
Her lips kicked up in a smile. All his sins forgotten, she asked, "What is it with me?"
"It is like fates have sealed destiny. I just want you all the time. The urge crawls beneath my skin."
Her fingers stilled for a moment on his forehead and a shaky breath left her. "What if someone starts liking me?"
"I will kill the bastard and drink blood from his skull. And no one is as good enough for you as me."
Elize burst into laughter. He was such an arrogant, possessive, alpha of a man. Yet she loved every aspect of him. Even in his delirious state he was so possessive about her. She brushed his hair lightly at the back and then kissed his forehead. "Fair enough," she said and giggled.
"And I am very proud of you," he murmured. "You saved all of us." And Elize felt… happy.
His fever had come down. Seeing that he was breathing steadily now, she took a deep breath. She was so exhausted. She dragged herself to take a hot shower and when she returned, she slept with her husband beneath the soft blanket in one of his shirts. She didn't know for how long, but a sound of a branch snapping jerked her awake. She got up instantly and looked at Caleb. He was still deep in sleep. Perhaps she was dreaming. She went back to lie on the pillow, when yet another branch snapped. Elize's sleepy eyes snapped open. She removed the blanket gently from her so as not to disturb Caleb and then walked to the window. She drew the curtain and pierced her eyes through the woods that surrounded the motel. Snow had started falling as pretty little snowflakes and trees swayed lightly against the cold breeze. She stood there for a long time.
Elize didn't know for how long she slept, but when she woke up, she found herself staring into the ridged planes of a strong, muscular chest which she wanted to explore immediately. Her eyes traveled up and a warm burst of pleasure exploded inside her when she saw Caleb watching her with his elbow curled and his head propped on the palm. He had a strand of her hair in between his finger and thumb which he was rubbing gently. "Hello, sleeping beauty," he said with a perfect smile.
"Caldy!" she squealed and then jumped at him to hug hard. "You are okay hubby?"
Hubby. Hubby? HUBBY?
And Caleb was dumbfounded. He held her in his arms and mumbled something he couldn't understand. She pulled away from him and gazed into his eyes. "How are you?"
She looked so pale. "I am fine and ready for you, love."
She giggled. She rested her lips on his for a long time and stayed there. He cupped her face and when he pulled away, he wiped her tears. "Did you think I would die so soon?"
She shook her head vehemently. "No!" She shuddered at the word and climbed on him. Curling up on him was her way of assuring herself that he was absolutely fine. Caleb wrapped her in his arms and tucked her inside with him in the blanket. However, how could the wolf help it? His cock shot north.
She smacked his arm and giggled. "You are not well."
"That's incorrect my love. I feel stronger than ever. And me being well is entirely different from my cock being well. It is very healthy and roaring to get inside a certain female."
The heat radiating off his shaft was making her muscles clench. "Stop poking me with it!" she squealed with a giggle.
"Then open your legs and let it get inside the place it belongs to."
Before Elize could protest, he had slid inside her. "Ah!" she said and loved the feel. He made her sit over her. She straddled him with his legs and crossed her hands behind her head. Her golden hair brushed his thighs and breasts jutted out as she slowly started moving her hips on him. Caleb watched her hungrily. His fingers reached between them to her clit.
They finished what they started near the car.

"Your Highness, yesterday night I noticed movement in the woods surrounding the motel," said Laurel after gulping down garlic shrimp noodles.
Caleb stopped eating as a muscle in his jaw feathered. He raised his eyebrow and waited for her to speak more. He had brought Elize to have breakfast in the restaurant of the motel. The skies outside were a dense gray making the world darker and so it was safe for her to accompany him. As usual, she was stirring the cranberry juice in her glass.
"I ventured into the woods and found a few branches that looked like they were broken with force," she continued.
Caleb stopped eating. "What are you suggesting?"
Laurel pursed her lips. She looked at Elize and then rubbed her neck nervously. "I went on further inside and found—" She bit her lip.
"Found whom?" Caleb asked impatiently.
"I found a demon lurking there."
"What the fuck?" Caleb's jaw clenched as the spoon in his hand twisted in his grip.
Caleb held her tightly over her chest and drifted off into darkness. Little did he know that she had gotten up and brought a cloth dipped in ice cold water.
