Dawn Of Twilight

Chapter 56 - Shaman 2

The more they understood their situation, the more they realized it was more suicidal in their eyes. If they couldn't control their fear and instinct of survival, their chance of successfully escaping would be non existent.

Captain Urara-a gave a light briefing of a shaman's features, abilities, and nature.

"Even though our details aren't enough, one thing we should take note of is that, apart from the ogres already having an advantage over us. Everyone should avoid the shaman, what I mean is that do not get close to it, also flee on sight would be the best outcome if you saw one.

"Also, a single one of those ogres guard could flip our entire team up-side-down, so rather than trying to break the Morales of the ogres by killing one, we should rather face a particular area and focus our force on breaking their formation, and as well rescue those that we can on our way."

"I agree with your analysis, sorcerer." Urara-a nodded his head. "For the ogres' behavior to suddenly be unusual, it must be related to the appearance of their shaman, maybe they are trying to offer sacrifice to their gods. So it highly possible for it to be the reason of setting traps and sending waves of attacks."

"We need to reunite if we want to live. Sorcerer, can you use a spell booster on our comrades?"

The sorcerer nodded, as she watched the group expression turning to a mix of awe, envy, and delight. Urara-a noticed this too, as he inwardly sighed. Even at the point of death, there were still humans who would still envy their companion?

"Enhanced those who specializes in speed and agility differently, while also doing the same thing for strength and defense." Captain Urara-a ordered.

Sorcerer nodded, as she first started raising her arms almost to a shoulder level length, before spreading her arms wide together with her fingers. Then she started moving both her arms in a circular motion.

Step after step, little orbs of light enveloped everyone in the team which included Tobi as well. Everyone quickly became endowed in an aura of light, but this new improvement in their stats wasn't stable since the sorcerer gave them the countdown of its maximum use was bȧrėly five minutes.

While everyone was in amazement of being overpowered by the new feeling, Tobi was unfazed since he couldn't feel any difference at his current hybrid awakened level. The boost in Mana was as thin as the one he had used back in the village.

"Everyone, position, and charge!" Captain Urara-a ordered.

A few ogres could also be seen occasionally munching at the incomplete corpses on the ground, the sight of this was gruesome to the eyes. At the front, a few mercenary groups could be spotted immersed in battle with the ogres trying to break their formation. At the midst of the mercenary group, was the flag of dawn light still fighting.

"Captain, my spell can't hold on for much longer!"

The sorcerer shouted as she made several attempts to stabilize her consumption of Mana, even still it could bȧrėly reduce the effect of using a high-ranking spell. Through the spell, her companions were able to receive a constant boost in their prowess, as they fought.

With the dawn light as their main force and the sorcerer spell, a few other midscale mercenary groups were able to hold back a large portion of the ogres, thanks to that it gave the merchant groups a chance to escape. Even still the ogres slowly surrounded them as they slowly formed a fort, even outnumbering them at this point.

"Since we have bought them enough time to escape, we've already completed a part of our objective! Now prepare to use all that we got, the entire team will bust their way through and after that, we shall split up and take various routes. Let's meet up again at a nearby town we passed by earlier!"

Captain Urara-a ordered, as he tightly clenched on the broad sword on his hands, as he made use of a technique that causes the elemental Mana on him to slowly increase, which made the armor on his body to emit a grey ŀuster, the low-rank enchanted item slowly ȧssimilated with the elemental Mana around him, as it kept on hardening.

His large sword slowly became fiery in color, as the ogres' blood on the sword sizzle, like a hot oil pot in which water was poured on it.

*Now, great warrior chiefs come inside. Our sacred Oracle has ȧssured us that victory is on our side, with the blessings of our sacred Oracle you all shall awaken a lesser name. With this awakening, you shall awaken better abilities and make full use of your strength, to fight against our enemy*

Gil'takka uses a version of the ogres' sacred Technique(Author note: this technique is similar to Tobi's Mana Technique but in a lesser version, since he now uses an improved version of the technique, which would be dubbed as "Awakened technique".), as he used it through the sacred Oracle, strengthening himself in the process.

With the combined effect of having to use sacred ogres technique and the affinity the ogres shaman possess, to use magic. The ogres' shaman believed the sacred oracle as install an enormous amount of Mana on him, which allowed him to call upon various elemental Mana, to make his pawns invincible.

As they knelt down, the world elemental energy slowly flowed into the ogres chiefs mana core, temporarily elevating them from acolyte to a bȧrėly within the threshold of rank one liquid core. Suddenly, each of the ogres chiefs opened their eyes, as they made a low growl sound.

*I am Bral?*

*My name is Brogh!*

*Hahaaa, the oracle called me Brunk*

*Who is Kurt?*

Gil'takka nodded, as he watched the mixed expression of these bunch of morons turn into a mix of fervent, craze, delight, and bewilderment.
