Dear Broom Knight

#47 - Valeera in the Valley

“Dog shit!” Leon growled angrily, “We’ve stirred up a hornet's nest!”

There were hundreds of white dogs rushing from all over the mountains, and even if their defensive formation was strong and standard, they would definitely be bitten.

That would be fine, but after they had just killed a head dog, the other side immediately sent out so many dogs. No one knew how many more were behind them.

No matter how strong a knight's endurance is, they can't suffer this kind of torment… The ice dogs' teeth also have a cold poison that hurts like hell when they bite.

Even if Saven could heal and clear toxins, his mana was limited.

Bards know a little bit of every spell, but their common problem is that their mana is only two-thirds that of mages of the same level.

Million quickly said, “Retreat to the left! There's a small valley below, it's also on Lorry's map!”

Yuri quickly understood the place he was talking about. According to the route map given by the young baron, that valley should be a necessary place for them to go down after reaching the top, and it was one of the last two trap points.

They had cleared more than a dozen similar locations, and they had more or less guessed something… Logically speaking, it was impossible for so many ferocious beasts and magical creatures to appear on such an ordinary mountain. They would only rush towards places where elemental energy gathered.

The young baron probably did something to make this mountain have so many strange places.

But they were taking money to help people avoid disaster, and besides, that little bit of energy wasn't of much use. Even if there were two more magical animals, it wouldn't be enough to share.

However, this insignificant amount of energy could allow Saven to replenish most of his depleted mana… It just so happened that it could allow the alchemist who had drunk the mana potion to get through the drug tolerance period.

It was indeed a good idea.

The Fierce Tiger Blade Adventure Group always only followed Yuri's ideas… Although Leon would always have flashes of inspiration and sudden whims, on the whole, they would still act according to Yuri's ideas.

Therefore, the knights quickly switched the diamond formation to a triangle formation. The two knights who had freed their hands directly carried Yuri and Saven on their backs and rushed to the lower left.

The two swordsmen also unhesitatingly put one hand on the shoulders of the two knights, borrowing their strength to move with the team while taking out the crossbow bolts in their hands and quickly shooting.

Although most of the crossbow bolts were useless, the fire magic arrows occasionally mixed in still had a huge killing power.

Most importantly, the ice dogs' intelligence, although present, was not very high, allowing them to know fear but not to judge which arrows would make them feel like they were dying.

Therefore, the pack of ice dogs chasing after the adventure group would slow down from time to time.

This made it much easier for the two knights guarding the rear.

After all, the members of the Fierce Tiger Blade had been together for many years, and the tacit understanding between the knights made their knight formation almost impeccable.

Although they were being chased very embarrassingly by dozens of newly joined ice dogs, the adventure group still arrived at their destination.

Yuri, who had been holding back, directly released his strongest divine spell, Thunderclap, the moment they rushed into the small valley. He also activated the spell talents of Spell Twining and Dual Casting, shattering the rocks on both sides of the valley and sealing the valley entrance tightly with rolling stones.

It was a beautiful girl wearing a gray linen long dress and a leather chain armor vest.

“You are…” Leon, who had noticed something was wrong and rushed to the front of everyone, frowned and asked.

This woman looked a little familiar to him, so even though he was prepared for battle, he was still a little polite.

“Ah, I am Valera Toller.” The flaxen-haired girl smiled slightly. Her side-parted long bangs were mixed with side hair, braided along one ear with a pure white feather, gathered at the back of her head, and tied into a ponytail, looking extraordinarily neat.

“You may know my sister, Ceska.” She elegantly raised her finger to the inside of the valley, her light brown eyes shining brightly, “I have long admired you, Fierce Tiger Blade Adventure Group.

Leader Leon, and Scholar Yuri.”

“Ceska's sister?” Yuri patted Leon's arm and slowly walked out, “What are you doing here?”

“You should have discovered in the past two days that there are many sensitive small animals in all the places you were asked to set traps.” Valera spread her hands slightly, “But we never expected to attract that kind of thing outside.”

Yuri frowned slightly, “They only came in the last two days? Why didn't you mention it to Baron Lorry?”

“I only just discovered it not long ago, otherwise, how could I have come in myself if it was so dangerous?” Valera smiled, “They arrived almost at the same time as you, but from the other side, almost climbing up the cliff.”

Yuri quickly waved his hand and summoned a three-dimensional map… Anyway, his mana was almost used up, and the remaining bit was enough to do this.

Valera, who was slowly approaching, looked enviously, “Is it possible to do this just by looking at a map? Scholars are really terrifying professions.”

“You think too highly of it, it's not that easy.” Yuri chuckled, “I can do this because I have personally walked through two-thirds of this map.

Otherwise, you would have to read a lot of detailed information and documents, and know the plants and specialties of this mountain like the back of your hand.

If it were that easy, scholars would be the most important existence in the military camp.”

Yuri quickly found the area that Valera was talking about and swiped his finger slightly, “Here? Below this cliff, is the area that was newly incorporated into the earldom back then, right?”

Valera nodded briskly, “That's right.”

Leon glanced at her in astonishment, “Didn't you say that you have been living alone at the foot of the mountain?

You…”

“Leon!” Yuri interrupted his leader's mindless question, although everyone had already understood what he wanted to ask… In a place so close to the troublesome area, a place where rebels could directly bypass the mountain, Valera's parents actually let her, a beautiful and weak girl, live alone?

Even if Valera obviously had a certain amount of combat power, how could she, who was not even a knight, fight against enemies who were at least professionals!

As long as there was a problem, Valera would definitely be the first to suffer.

Don't forget that Lady Agresif and her Knights were soldiers who suppressed rebels back then.
