Very quickly, a woman who looked like Ke Yiqing’s assistant came over from the corner. She had a plain appearance with a low sense of existence so Shu Nian didn’t even notice her before. 

The assistant stared at Ke Yiqing as if she was telling her to quickly shut up.

Shu Nian would always feel uneasy and she didn’t dare to look at her phone. If she bowed her head for a second, she would need to look around for five seconds from the fear that someone would suddenly jump out at her. 

Shu Nian looked down and checked the bus times. 

In her line of sight, she noticed that there was a black car parked in front of her and subconsciously glanced at it. 

The window of the car in the back seat fell down and it revealed a familiar face. 

During this period, because of a lot of things, since Xie Ruhe’s birthday, she hadn’t seen him again. She was used to living alone and the thought of looking for him never come up. 

She hadn’t seen him for a while and Xie Ruhe had cut his hair shorter. It exposed his smooth forehead which made him look smarter and he glanced to the side to where she was. His eyebrows were slightly tilted and his crow-like lashes covered his eyes. He silently looked at her.

Xie Ruhe turned towards the driver’s seat and whispered something that Shu Nian couldn’t hear clearly. After, Fang Wencheng got out of the car and opened the door on the other side for her: “Shu Nian, get in the car first, it’s very late.” 

Without any delay, she went over and got inside  

Fang Wencheng started the car. 

Usually, in the area between Shu Nian’s seat and the back of the front seat was where the wheelchair parts that Xue Ruhe himself took apart would be stored. At that moment though, she didn’t see it anywhere. The area was empty. 

Shu Nian looked at him again: “Why are you still outside so late?” 

Xie Ruhe said lightly: “I came here to do something.” 

Shu Nian didn’t dive deeper into the topic and asked: “How are you recovering?” 

Xie Ruhe was silent for a few seconds, his lips moved but no sounds were produced. 

Seeing his face, he looked a little tired so Shu Nian didn’t bother him anymore. She looked down at her phone to find the films that the second female lead had acted in before and casually selected a movie. 

Shu Nian skipped the opening and jumped to one-third of the film. She didn’t read what kind of movie it was before watching it so her body and mind were very relaxed. 

After loading, Shu Nian paid careful attention to the clips. 

A woman was combing her hair in a dark room in front of the mirror. Soon, the background music suddenly stopped and strange music box music began to play. It was the kind that frequently appeared in ghost movies and then transitioned to horror music.  

The next moment, the camera zoomed in the direction of the mirror and the screen filled with a ghost’s face. It looked at her with empty and bloody eyes accompanied by hysterical screaming. 

Shu Nian’s breath paused and her heart seemed to have stopped beating too. She let go and her phone fell to the ground, making a banging sound. 

She stayed where she was and was overcome with fear. There were no signs of her recovering from the shock yet. 

Xie Ruhe became aware of her movements. His eyelids moved and he looked over. 

“What’s wrong?” 

Shi Nian slowly looked at him. She soon lowered her eyes and placed a hand on top of her heart as her breathing calmed down. 

“It’s nothing, I just didn’t know it was a horror film until after watching it.” 

“…” Xie Ruhe leaned over and picked up her phone for her. He turned off the movie and looked up to see Shu Nian’s pale face. His voice was a little gentler than usual: “Don’t be afraid, it’s all fake.” 

Shu Nian’s still hadn’t managed to recover yet so she just hummed and didn’t say anything else.  

Xie Ruhe was at a loss because he didn’t know how to comfort her. He just chatted with her and started talking about a new topic: “Have you ever voiced a horror film before?”
