Demonborn
11 X
Levi began panting as he ran through the streets. Rose had been missing for a few days now and still no one knew where she had gone. The police had been no help, stating that the demon girl should stay gone, of course all were angels in the station.
He continued running as the rain started around her, heading straight for her sanctuary hoping she would be there.
As he reached it, it was empty, all but one boy sitting on the rock that oversaw the lake. His hair was golden, and he seemed to be kinda tall, but not very. When Levi saw him, he stopped and stared at him. His heart starting doing flips in his chest and he just stared at the boy, all thoughts of Rose slipping through his fingers.

A loud scream ripped through the schoolyard as a girl tucked herself in a ball trying to protect herself from the bullies around her.
"Look at that, the freak is trying to get someone's attention," one bully said, kicking her hard in the back of the head.
"Oh we can't have that, we'll just have to shut her up," another said, pulling the knife out that he had in his pocket.
"No, please, I beg you!"
"Aww, I love it when you beg, Rosie girl," the third said, kicking her in her leg, effectively shattering it. The girl released another scream at the pain around her, then the boy with the knife grabbed her face with one hand and brought it to the edge of her lips. The boys all laughed as they ripped her cheeks with the knife.
"Hey, what are you doing to her?" another voice sounded.
"That's none of your business, just get lost!" the first shouted, after it was followed by the yells of the bullies as they quickly ran off.
"Hey, Rosie, are you alright?" a soothing voice asked, looking up she saw black hair the was pushed over one eye, the one showing was glowing red. His face looked panicked at the broken gaze of Rose.
Tears found their way down her cheeks and she began sobbing at the kindness of the boy who saved her. He quickly held her head to his chest and let her cry herself out.
"You're safe now, Rose. I've got you, and I'll never let you go again, I promise," the boy whispered to her. After she had finished crying, she let out a whimper at the pain.
"Thank you," she whispered and let her eyes close, falling into the darkness.
The boy picked Rose up and began running quickly towards Angelina's to get her fixed up. Just down the street, a downpour started and he picked up the pace, leaning over her to keep her as dry as possible. He raced into the house, leaving the door open as he carried her to her room.
Inside, the other male had been waiting for her to get home from school, and stood up defensively when the black haired boy walked in with Rose in his arms.
"What did you do to her, Week?" the brown haired boy asked, rushing to the side of the bed when he placed her down.
"I did nothing, angel boy, there were bullies who did this to her," Week said, running his hand over her torn cheek. "If I hadn't shown up, she may have been killed."
Levi winced at the thought of the girl dying. He stood up and ran out of the room, looking for Angelina. As he did, Week sat at her bedside, placing her hand to his forehead and letting his own tears start to fall. He had failed at protecting her, now he was paying the price.
"I'm sorry, Rose. If I hadn't left you here with no memories, none of this would have happened. I'm sorry I let you down," he said, letting his sorrow take over.
Angelina rushes in the room, followed not far behind by Levi as she rushed to her bedside, observing the damage.
She had a few broken ribs, a broken leg, and one of her arms had cuts and bruised down it, not to mention the horrible rip of her cheek that went to her ear.
She grabbed one of Week's hands and nodded over to the girl on the bed. Week looked down at the girl as she began to glow, all of her injuries began to right themselves and heal, and her cuts closed leaving only white scars on her body. Angelina had obviously done this many times before, why he hadn't been told he had no idea.
Levi then ripped him from Rose's side and ran to her, gripping her hand as she fluttered her eyes open. Noticing she was waking, Week ran out of the house, closing the door behind him this time, walking slowly as he hit the outside and let the rain surround him. He knew that his father and mother would ask where he had been, and the lie had started to become easy to slip.
As he walked into their hidden home, his mother came in with a towel and pushed him towards his father's office. He looked angry, yet sad at the same time.
"Found Rose yet, Week?"
"No, father."
"You still think she's in this town?"
"Yes, father."

Week paused his work at my words. The brush caught in a tangle in my hair as he stared at my face in the mirror.
"Where did this come from, Rose?" he asked, his voice dark, and his eyes glowing brighter. I let out a shiver and he immediately pulled away and backed up onto the bed, looking upset with himself.
"I've just heard it a few times, and was curious, that's all," I replied, trying to hide my fear at the anger swirling in his eyes.
He shook his head and gave me a shaky smile and he walked back to me and got back to work. We sat in silence as he finished with my hair and started to twist it up into a bun on my head. I watched him warily in the mirror as he seemed to be at war with himself. At one point he pulled my hair too hard and I let out a small cry and immediately pulled his hand away, giving me halfhearted apologies and then continuing with what he was doing.
"Rose, a promised is the demons' version on a soulmate that the angels have that I'm sure you've heard of. When they meet them, an angel's heart seems to be trying to rip out of their chest and they can't pull their gaze away from them. It's like as long as they're in front of them, everything is okay. With a promised, one of the pair knows when the other is born and immediately feels the urge to protect them and be whatever they need. Normally, they can bring either the best or the worst in people, and demons will turn theirs away, while others embrace them and try to do whatever they can to keep them by their side."
I paused at that. A soulmate describes how I felt about Lizzie. Week looked up at me as I asked about his promised and he gave me a small smile and placed my brush down as he finished with my hair. He stood up and walked towards the door, opening it and pausing in the doorway.
"Rose, you are my promised and you have been since you were born."
He continued running as the rain started around her, heading straight for her sanctuary hoping she would be there.
