Desolate World

Chapter 146 - Multiple Races

Emily looked back, and was alerted. A short humanoid lizard who was holding a spear seemed to be surprised as he looked at her and the elf.

"Li-lizard?! How can you enter a village?" The elf beside Emily exclaimed. She then took a longbow and put an arrow at it. She pointed it to the humanoid lizard.

"How rude! I'm a dragonling," he then shouted angrily. He then pointed his spear to the two of them.

Emily then examined him.

[Oza]

Race: dragon

Level: 1

Maybe because she was alert at him, she checked him seriously. Then she realized that his name was yellow. It meant he was a neutral creature. In short, he was not an enemy.

'Dragon!? But, how can he be so short?' Emily thought.

Then, a figure appeared behind the 'dragon'. He was a person with a pair of wings.

Papazila: Angel?

DontLook: Previously Elf, then dragon?, and no angel? What's going on?

Zzz01: I must be dreaming. Please wake me up!

Ponzo: Emily, are you pranking us? It doesn't seem real.

ColZapyr: @Zzz01, Lol. Aren't you always 'Zzz…'

Emily didn't care about her viewers' barrage of questions and comments at the moment, as she still couldn't digest what had happened to her? Where was she? Was it an illusion?

Then another human appeared. He seemed to be as confused as her. Then a dark humanoid that looked like an undead —that later, she understood that she was a shadow— appeared.

Then a dwarf boy, a small girl that was actually a gnome, and even a goblin appeared. It made her confused. Wariness enveloped the big room. But, maybe because no one started to make a move, no one dared to attack.

As the 15th figure appeared, the arguments among the people in the room intensified.

"You should be a human, right? Do you know what is going on?" A human boy then came towards her in confusion.

Emily shook her head. She was unsure too. Then she found out that her comment section was piled with comments. There were already more than 400 comment notifications. It made her more confused.

"Are you a gnome? You are so cute," A shadow girl came to a gnome girl

"No hug! You undead! Or I will attack you. Please release me," The gnome girl, who was hugged by the shadow girl struggling to escape from the shadow girl.

"Woa… Nice to meet you. I heard about dragons from my friend. But, I never thought we have similar heights," A dwarf stretched out his hand to Oza, the previous dragonling that Emily met after the elf.

Oza shook his hand to the dwarf and grinned. He said, "Finally, a friendly one. Hello! Nice to meet you too."

Some friendly individuals' actions seemed to be able to break the tension. The plyers that had unsheathed their weapons, lowered their weapons one by one.

As the atmosphere was calming down, two NPCs entered the room. A human and a dragonling. Both of them had levels 25 and 24 respectively. Despite their different equipment and weapons, they had a white armband with a symbol of a shield with a sun in the middle sewn on it.

The human NPC then asked excitedly, "Are you the guardians? Great! Welcome to Laketown. We have waited for you for some time."

The dragonling seemed to catch an abnormality. He stopped his excited friend with a tuck.

He then asked, "What's going on here? Why are you drawing your weapons? Don't you know that fighting in the town is prohibited?"

The guardians seemed to realize something. Emily also only realized that they were in the settlement. And as she had known all of the colors of players' names in the room were yellow from a few minutes before, it meant they were all on the same side. And it seemed they were fellow players of this statement.

Emily then opened her creature panel. And surely, all players' names here were in the settlement guardian ranking. So, it was true, they were this town's players. Because, it was impossible for the guest guardian's name to enter it.

Guest guardians were players from another settlement who temporarily stayed in a settlement. Although they could be resurrected in that settlement temporarily, they wouldn't be able to become that settlement's residents without completing troublesome quests to prove their loyalty to the new settlement.

But what surprised her more was there were already four high-level players in the ranking. And from their names, she knew that they were family. They even

had formed a guild.

She then realized that her viewer was waiting for her to talk.

"Sorry guys. I'm so surprised by the situation. It seems we are summoned to an unusual place. What do you think?" She said to her viewers. But, although her viewer could hear her voice, her lips didn't move at all.

It was one of a few features that were included in the recording device that she was using. She didn't have to use her mouth to talk. Only by thinking, her words would be heard in the record.

She then operated the big camera to get the pictures of the room. She didn't have to worry about the bug to be found, as it was invisible. To be exact, it was imagery. The bug form was only there to make it easier for her to navigate the camera.

Xaxer: Emily, please give us the picture of the angel guy. He is so handsome!

Cora: Mr. angel, please!!!

Crayon09: No, the elf girl first. Give me her picture!!! She was just my type

...

'You guys…,' Emily couldn't help but smile.

Sighed helplessly. She then got the pictures of some players in the room.

As she was busy taking some shots, a dwarf then approached the guards.

"Excuse me. Could I ask something? What is this settlement? How can it summon multiple races?" He asked.

His question got the attention of all players. Even Emily must focus her camera to capture the NPCs' response.

The human NPC then smiled. With a proud expression, he then said, "I guessed some of you would ask that question. The answer is simple. Because this is Laketown. A place for all."
