Desolate World

Chapter 163 - Ten Elite Skeletons

After entering the area of the mana pool, Ace felt that his body was very vigorous. His sense also became keener. As Ace's senses were already very keen, his strengthened senses made him able to see, hear, and feel everything around him at the next level.

"I feel really great. My senses feel sharper. Is it what you always experience?" Sofia asked Ace.

"Yeah pretty much," Ace answered. He didn't know what else to say, as he couldn't describe what he felt.

"Are you ready, Geo?" Ace then asked his son.

"Yeah, Dad. I will start," Geo said.

He then took out many bones from his inventory. After putting it outside, he also took out some equipment and weapons.

After the guild was formed, Ace decided to re-equip Geo's skeleton army. Before, their equipment was un-uniform, either in level requirements or grades. So Ace changed them with uniformly level 40 equipment and weapons.

However, as the level of craftsmanship of the guild personnel was not high, Ace could only give them grade B goods for the ordinary skeletons. As for the ten elite skeletons that hadn't been raised, Ace commissioned some experts in dwarven block to make them grade A equipment and weapons.

As a result, Even if the skeletons had terrible HP, at least in defense, they were similar to a well-equipped army, or even better.

Geo then raised his hands and said, "Raise!"

In an instant, the bones gathered and assembled. Then ten skeletons and two skeleton horses were standing in front of them. After that, the pile of equipment and the weapon flew towards them and equipped the ten skeletons.

Among the ten skeletons and two skeleton horses. Four of them were wearing full metal armors and held long swords and tower shields. Two of them were standing beside their big skeleton horses while wearing a combination of metal and leather armors. The other three were wearing leather armor with longbows in their hands. The last one wore a black robe, cloak, and held a staff with a blue monster core was attached on its top.

Ace then checked them.

At first, they seemed to be confused about their situation. However, after seeing Geo, they then knelt down including the two skeleton horses.

"Long live Lord. Your servants are ready to serve you," They said simultaneously

Ace found that their intelligence was better than ordinary skeletons. If it was true, they could be counted on to lead the ordinary skeletons. To be honest, Ace thought that Geo was incapable of leading such a powerful force, as he was still a child. Because of that, Cloud's presence was always important in every battle, if Ace wasn't there.

However, the presence of the ten elite skeletons would help Geo arrange the troops in a chaotic battle. Then Ace had an idea. But he must confirm its feasibility himself before implementing it.

Ace then told Geo to order them to stand up.

"You can stand up," Geo then said.

The ten skeletons and two skeleton horses then stood up. They looked straight to Geo silently. However, their silence was somewhat different from 40 skeleton soldiers that were somewhat dull. They glanced at the people around Geo with interest. As if they tried to assess the situation.

What made Ace interested was Doom the lich. Somehow, Ace realized that the skeleton took extra attention to Ace, maybe he did that because Ace, who asked Geo to make them stand up. It made Ace smirk.

In an instant, Doom averted his gaze. However Ace could see that the lich was still cautious about him.

'Interesting,' Ace said. He then asked Geo to enter all of the skeletons except Doom to his ring via the party channel.

Geo obeyed him and entered all skeletons except Doom to his ring.

"Hi, Doom. I heard, after a skeleton is killed and then being resurrected again, he would forget his past. Is that true?" Ace asked.

Of course, it was just his guess. As if it was true or not, he wanted to get the answer from the lich. As he was in the mana pool, he was confident to detect lies, even from the skeleton. As his senses were strengthened to a terrifying degree.

Doom then looked at Ace and asked, "Excuse me, Mr. Ace. If you don't mind. May I know your relationship with my master?"

Ace was quite surprised, Doom would have the initiative to ask. However, he didn't hate it, as it showed that Doom was a careful person or he should say a careful skeleton.

Ace then answered, "I'm Geo's father. The two women are Geo's mother and grandmother. Anything else? If not, you can answer my question."

Doom then nodded. He then said, "Yes. It is enough. Although I'm Master Geo's servant. But looking from the master's age, I believe he would be obedient to you. So, as long as you don't ask me to do harmful things to the Master and myself, I will listen to you."

"You behave not like an undead or even a servant. Very interesting," Ace said.

Doom looked like didn't care about Ace's sarcasm at all. He then said, "I'm a lich. So of course, I'm different from those stupid's pawns. In fact, even among elite undead, I believe that we —the liches— are the smartest. So, please don't mind my coarse words, as it is how I am.

So let me answer your question. Yes, every time an undead is killed, he will lose his memory. But, it doesn't mean he lost his knowledge and character. That is how we are. If you ask me the reason, then I will say sorry. As I really don't know."
