Desolate World

Chapter 61 - Clash

"Scatter! Don't stop! Let's meet outside," A vampire at the back of the vampires' group shouted. Noah gritted his teeth.

"Isn't it the leader of the vampire?" Noah murmured. He had a grievance with this vampire. He was always the one that held him when other vampires kidnapped people among the refugees. He did not always appear in each attack, but his threat forced Noah to always be on guard. After all, his skill was very nasty.

'Here is coming,' Noah said in his heart after finding that Hugo had dived towards him.

Then blood-colored mist was coming out from Hugo's body and spread covering about 10 meters radius of him.

It was the annoying skill that the vampire usually used, blood fog. Not only was it obstructing the refugees' view, but it also made their hearts to be infiltrated by various negative emotions like anger, madness, and hatred.

The affected people who were not ready would lose their minds and attack all creatures that they saw. However, how many times the refugees swallowed this bitter pill. They somewhat had certain immunity to it.

However, it was still enough to delay them. And it was really the case. Noah had realized from the first time he saw the vampires carrying unconscious people, that they wanted to run away.

How could he let them?

"Continue to throw everything in your hands! Don't let them get away!" Noah said while swinging wildly his axe. It was not that he was mad. It was his skill 'wild swing'. A gust of wind then appeared and swept the blood fog. Scattering it to some degree.

Then He heard a painful cry from a distance. Noah guessed that Hugo had attacked one of the refugees. He looked in the direction the voice came from. And he saw a red-colored armored vampire attacking some people wildly with his glowing gauntlets. They then were thrown out with bloody wounds on their torsos.

"Stop!" Noah shouted while taking a stance. Then he leaped towards the vampire that was madly attacking his people. If Ace was there, he would think that Noah's jumping skill was similar to his skill.

Less than two seconds later, he was already near the vampire. He then swung his axe toward the vampire. However, he didn't feel his attack touched anything. The vampire's body disintegrated, became dozens of small bats, and then scattered to various directions.

Noah was annoyed. However, he wasn't too surprised. He knew the outcome would become like that. He knew the vampire's routine well. He would transform into bats when threatened.

However, Noah knew it was not without gain. Like other skills, the vampire's skills had a few minutes to cool down. At least for a few minutes, the vampire wouldn't attack them anymore.

He then looked at the entire battlefield. He saw at some spots, the refugees were ganging up on some vampires. Noah shook his head in regret. He knew most of the vampires had already escaped.

However, it seemed he was wrong. A group of refugees then was thrown out not too far from Noah.

A vampire with red armor ran amok attacking the refugees. Compared with Hugo, his physique looked bigger and sturdy. However, somehow Noah knew that he was far weaker than Hugo, the leader of the vampires.

Although he seemed more violent and tyrannical, it shouldn't be too long before his power decreased. Noah thought it should be a skill that enhanced the power of the user for a period of time. After his time was up. He was no different than a deflated balloon.

"Interesting!" Noah grinned. These months his hands always felt itchy. He had never fought seriously.

The vampires always used hide and seek tactics with him. While they were kidnapping some refugees, they would choose the areas that were far away from him. Sometimes, Hugo would confront him. But it was only to delay him. The vampire had never been fighting him seriously.

However, at the moment, a vampire seemed to choose to stay behind.

"No, it seemed he didn't have any choice other than to fight for his life," Noah said with a huge smile. He saw one of the vampire's wings was thorn by a javelin. And he couldn't transform into bats. Because of that, he was forced to fight for his life.

Wasn't delaying anymore, Noah ran towards the vampire. His leap skill was still in cooldown. So he couldn't use it. But it was just a little inconvenience for him. He was a warrior. He had never felt disadvantaged when his feet were still on the earth.

The other refugees then made a way for him. As if knowing that Noah wanted to deal with the vampire by himself.

The vampire seemed to realize his presence. He turned his body and found that a man with a large axe came to him at a high speed. He seemed to be in a trance for a while. But, then he roared.

Instead of running away, he ran towards Noah with courage. Although he didn't wield any weapon. His glowing gauntlets were domineering enough to face Noah's axe.

However, only courage was far from enough for him to confront Noah directly. As the two were only 2 meters apart, Noah had already swung his axe diagonally from below. It was so fast that the vampire failed to respond except for blocking the attack with his two gauntlets.

The destructive power of the attack was so big that gauntlets were cracked, and the vampire was thrown out. However, vampires were an agile race. Although he had to be thrown out for a few meters, he could land with his two feet. Some chunks of his health disappeared in an instant.

A thin line of blood also came out from his mouth. However, he seemed to be alright, at least for now. Seeing an axe was already in front of his face, he then retreated with a long back jump.

Knowing his following attack touched nothing, Noah snorted. However, inside of his heart, he was alarmed. The vampire that he was facing couldn't be called strong. However, speedwise he was a little bit superior to him. If  weaker vampire this fast, he couldn't help but imagining how fast Hugo was if he decided to be serious.

However, he had already expected the situation. Because of that, he had already prepared a sturdy rope. At the end of the rope, a fist-size rock was tied. It was no different than the other refugees used.

He was then swinging the rope with his right hand, while his left hand was holding his axe.

The vampire seemed not to feel threatened. The last clash showed him that the damage of Noah was bearable. At least, it couldn't insta kill him.
