Devil's Apocalypse

Chapter 11 - This Devils Got Some Moves

As the sun slowly drifted below the horizon Kasdeya opened her eyes and unfurled herself before stretching out her entire white body. She got up from the bed and slowly walked into the lounge room as it was the largest room in the house as her tail swished behind her.

After then moving the few remaining chairs in the room to the side she had ample space for what she had in mind.

'I want to try out some new moves in order to get a better feel of my own capabilities and then incorporate a few methods to use in certain situations as up to this point I've basically just been flailing around until my opponents die.'

With these thoughts Kasdeya moved into the centre of the room and performed a handstand, which she pulled off easily. Even when she started moving her legs and trying multiple different positions, as long as she didn't adjust her centre of gravity to far from her core she could easily stay balanced, and even if she had to perform any sudden movements in this precarious position her tail automatically moved so she didn't fall.

'So another neet feature is my great sense of balance. Then how come I fell over the first time I fought something? Am I just that bad or did this new skill come from levelling up? Yet another question I'll never have the answer for.'

After testing out her balance she then started performing cartwheels and flips that would make her seem like a top grade acrobat, or at least a medium grade one. It was harder to keep track of surroundings while constantly having her vision flipping in circles so she did hit the walls a few times but after an hour of practice she felt that she could do a lot more than she could before, at least she could in terms of movement.

Kasdeya then spent half an hour seeing which moves she can use to attack enemies without using the claws on her hands, or simply experimenting on different ways that she could position herself around her target to make them easier to damage.

After a significant amount of time had passed she was quite happy with the results and decided to stop with the movement training. The next task on her agenda would be seeing if she could perform magic as she had witnessed its effects and it could be quite bothersome on the battlefield.

'Being able to use magic would be both very cool and very useful. The only problem however is that I have no idea what I need to do to learn magic. Usually the protagonists from novels sit with their legs crossed and try to sense some inner energy so I'll give that a go.'

Following her own suggestion Kasdeya sat in the middle of the room with her legs crossed and her tail once again wrapped around her. Trying to envision herself seeing into her very essence she sat like that for over an hour. With no results.

'I really don't think that this is helping. All I'm supposedly doing right now is wasting my time, not that I don't have an excess of that but I'd prefer to accomplish more useful tasks rather than pointlessly sitting on the ground being pretty. That Bloodhound was the only creature I saw to accomplish a magical feat and it was obviously an evolved version of the wild dogs, so maybe I have to level up some more before I can use magic, I mean, I definitely have plenty of soul so that can't be the flaw. Let's go with that theory and even if I'm wrong there is no demerit to levelling up anyway.'

Now that Kasdeya has finished her acrobatics practice and her magic practice failed she walked towards the door of the house with the intent of finding some more creatures to kill, namely dogs. Upon reaching and opening the door the first thing she saw was a group of seven dogs, with five level 3 and two level 4. They were walking around and sniffing the bones of the Bloodhound.

'This is the first level 4 I've seen so far. However it's highly unlikely that they are as rare as they seem considering that they'd level up quite quickly with how much they kill each other. One of them even levelled up enough to evolve.'

After reaching the group she immediately clawed one, then another before spinning around a third that tried to bite her and stabbing the dog behind it. In less than a second three level 3 dogs were dead with the other four rushing towards her.

The first to reach her jumped towards her with its mouth open to then be met with a clawed hand to the side of it's head as Kasdeya smacked the dog behind her with her tail. She then spun around and grabbed the paw of the dog that was disorientated from her tail and swung it into the third dog.

While this happened the last dog had arrived and leapt at her to which she responded by stepping around it and stabbing the claws of her left hand into its back.

'Wow, I gained an extra 12 levels and did some training and all of a sudden I can easily take on seven of these dogs at once. That might just be because they are really weak though, and it appears I didn't get any more levels, unfortunate. Well I guess the only thing to do now is search for some more dogs.'

Ripping off three legs to eat, Kasdeya started walking while eating with one leg held in each hand and the last leg being held by her tail.

'Having a tail truly is convenient.'
