Devil's Apocalypse

Chapter 69 - (EXTRA) Friday the 13th

"Please explain, why are we doing this again?" The aid asked, tired after having to run around to get this event ready on such short notice.

"I heard that, in this world, this particular day and date composition holds special relevance, and I fully intend to celebrate a dead culture!" The Director replied jubilee, wearing his usual suit while he sat on a chair with his right heel resting on his left knee.

"I don't think that's right... and, if you were so adamant about this, why didn't you tell me about it sooner! That way I could've prepared!"

"Well with how competent you may or may not be, I ȧssumed that arranging such a simple gathering would be simple."

"Do you have any idea how frustrating and stressful it was to salvage an undamaged disk and the technology to play it in the short time you gave? Also, talking about stress and frustration, why is SHE here!!" The aid cried out against the injustices against him while glaring at the seductive frame draped across the couch.

Kasdeya raised her eyebrows in turn, lying on her side with her head propped up on an arm and her tail curving up to then point back towards the ground.

"What's wrong with Laurence? Does her latest form bother you in some way?" Enquired the Director as he looked towards Laurence who was sitting on the top of the couch, above Kasdeya.

"That's obviously NOT who I was referring to!"

"Then there's clearly no problem, so are you playing the movie? After all, we're on a tight schedule and if you want to wait any longer then you should've told us earlier, so we could've had more time to prepare."

The aid fought back the multitude of curses ready to spill out of his throat and sat on the cold floor. After all, there was nowhere else for him to sit since the lone chair was taken by the director, and the entire couch was claimed by the she-devil.

"So, is there anything else this 'movie night' requires?" The aid asked of the individuals behind him as he was reaching for the remote.

"I don't believe so, anything to add Kas? You were the one to suggest this after all."

"I knew it." Muttered the aid quietly, of course it was she who gave him both stress and extra work.

Upon gaining no reply from Kasdeya, the aid pressed play and then scowled at the snaking tail which stole the bowl of popcorn by his side.

"John, I'm cursed and going to die, tell our friends that they were the best comrades I could've asked for."

"This shattered mirror spells my doom. Quick! take up your blade and run me through! I'd rather die by your hand than that of an unseen adversary!"

"Why are you going to die?"

"This day, it is cursed! The shattering of the mirror proves this fact! Why, not five minutes ago, I had a hallucination of a black feline crossing my path!"

"The only thing cursed about today is whatever possessed you to speak like that Michael."

Pulling him away from the mirror, John dragged Michael outside, though this promptly seemed like a horrible idea.

"THAT HORSESHOE! IT BEARS BAD TIDINGS!!" Michael yelled while pointing menacingly at what appeared to be some twisted metal in the rough visage of an upside-down horseshoe."

"Seriously? you know those are just superstitions, right?"

"They are the tidings of the devil! For right at this moment, I'm sure that they're laughing along with the rest of their demonic entourage!"

"I hope you return to a semblance of sanity soon…"
