Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 3725 Two Against One

"Fifty… percent…?"

Zenova Artoria sounded flabbergasted, even amazed that the penalty of losing here could go this far. Losing fifty percent in an instant would surely mean death for any normal person out there, including supreme geniuses.

Only those who have extraordinary Wills would be able to endure such a loss, and even then, going into a comatose state for a few weeks or even years was confirmed as the soul would automatically try to protect itself from needing to endure the pain.

Such consequences were no different than giving a death sentence for getting killed here.

Once Zenova Artoria read the rules and saw that there was nothing for her to take advantage of here, causing her to lower her gaze and look at Evelynn and Shirley.

"I'm sure the two of you don't want to be killed, so it would help if both of you could admit defeat."

"Surely, you jest." Evelynn giggled, her bosoms wavering underneath her robes ever so slightly.

Shirley also giggled, "I may not have confidence if this was outside with a fleshly body, but too bad for you because when it comes to the soul, the phoenix has a wild advantage. On the other hand, my big sister's soul formed from Emperor-Tier Three-Eyed Hex Chromatic Arachnid and Earth Dragon soul essence would rip you apart. It's better if you admit defeat, Zenova. After all, this isn't one against one but two against one."

She took a step forward, manifesting a flaming spear in her hands as she grinned at Zenova Artoria.

"Then don't blame me for accidentally killing you two."

*Bzzz!~*

Annihilative lightning and annihilative flames burst out from Zenova Artoria's soul, causing Evelynn and Shirley's eyes to widen.

'She accommodated her soul with annihilative properties!?'

They instantly thought her physique encompassed her three cultivation systems, but they also thought her soul, which was of a Blazing Thunderlight Kirin, was immensely helpful in accommodating two aggressive elements, such as fire and lightning.

However-

"Your soul aura isn't King-Tier!"

Shirley lunged forward, her flaming spear thrusting toward Zenova Artoria with a blinding speed. Scarlet flames danced around her hastening silhouette while the tip of the spear was covered in a blazing inferno.

At the same time, her aura pulsated, changing its essence quickly as another burst of energy covered the spear tip in icy wisps, the two powers instantly combining to form a deadly icefire spear.

Shirley stabbed the icefire spear towards Zenova Artoria but the latter sidestepped and gracefully dodged. It didn't surprised Shirley as she swung the spear after the stab but Zenova Artoria's movements were still fluid and precise as she bent back and dodged the swing.

With a back step, Zenova Artoria retreated and waved her hand, her sleeves dancing.

*Bang!~*

A bolt of lightning and flames stretched across her finger and shot toward Shirley with an insane speed. It arced like a deadly arrow, but Shirley swiftly spun her spear and deflected it.

It struck the grayish surface and disappeared into nothingness.

The both of them stopped, sizing each other up with renewed expectations.

"Not bad. Even while lacking King-Tier aura, your soul is keeping up with mine." Shirley giggled.

"Your icefire is extremely dangerous, but it's not enough to beat me."

Zenova Artoria's voice was calm, still amused.

"It is enough, but even if it isn't, I said we're two against one, remember?"

"…"

Zenova Artoria stared at Shirley, wondering if she was trying to get her to look away, but she abruptly felt a sense of danger envelop her.

*Bang!~*

Zenova Artoria raised her hand and looked at her fingers. Three of them had exploded. There was no blood, but the soul force that made up her body was dispersing from the injury.

Zenova Artoria blinked at this scene before she raised her head and gazed at Evelynn, who had her third eye open. It was starting at her with a bloodshot- no, crimson hex symbol of unknown nature.

She prided herself in karmic attacks and knew most inscriptions relating to karma than the average Mystic Diviner but she could decipher Evelynn's, becoming intrigued. However, she also knew this was fairly the time to engage in research.

"Give up, Zenova. Unfortunately, you aren't a match for us in the soulscape."

"You're kidding." Zenova Artoria giggled at Evelynn's words, "You know, wouldn't be able to one-shot me with your Collapse Hex and hence targeted my fingers, disallowing me to sense it beforehand. A good starting plan to intimidate me, but Evelynn, you should be more careful of hurting your good sister than me."

"…?"

Evelynn had her gaze narrowed, wondering what Zenova Artoria meant.

However, she saw Shirley raise her hand.

"…!"

Surprisingly, Shirley was missing a finger. She appeared to have lost a finger on her left hand, the same hand that Zenova Artoria also endured damage.

"Big sister, it seems that one-third of the damage she endured was redirected to me…"

"Karma Laws…"

Evelynn had her eyes narrowed.

She could only guess and assume Zenova Artoria placed a karmic link between them when they made a move against each other, but rather than Karma Laws, she imagined that this was closer to Curse Laws.

Curse Laws was a fusion of Darkness Laws and Karma Laws, a Low-Tier Supreme Law.

The only person she knew who mastered it was Accursed Warlock Fraser Herrion, but he went one step above and comprehended Malediction Laws, a fusion of Curse Laws and Illusion Laws.

"I didn't think you trained in Darkness Laws with your soul," Evelynn spoke with some surprise in her voice.

"Surely, you didn't think I would be covered in light, did you?"

Zenova Artoria smiled vivaciously, "If you did, I'm flattered. However, it is indeed, as you say, that I'm at a disadvantage against you two when it comes to the soul, but then again, karmic attacks work more when we're soul bodies. You would do well to remember that~"

She advised, knowing that Evelynn discovered that she applied curse insights to Karma Laws, avoiding mentioning Curse Laws because the technique she used couldn't fully be defined as such.

It only made her wonder how far Evelynn's understanding of Karma Laws and Hex Laws was ahead.

"No need to worry. She can't heal her soul as quickly as I can."

Shirley coldly uttered. Before anyone could see what happened, her finger grew back to its original state.

It made Zenova Artoria's brows twitch. She lacked soul-healing methods that were as quick as Shirley's. However, she still didn't doubt her chances.

"Here I come~"

Shirley's cold expression fell as she grinned again, clearly enjoying this exchange.
