Douluo Dalu: A reincarnated teen's pathway to ascension
8 Passage of a year
As promised, the day after the test, his father had started teaching Ryan about archery, but, it came easy to him as he already had prior knowledge about them from reading the manual in the mental realm. However, Xiao Shan, who knew nothing about his son's "late night programmes" was dumbstruck by the rate of Ryan's comprehensive skills. From the next day onwards, he started to let Ryan train using a weapon. Aiming, holding, tying a bowstring and drawing the bow into a full crescent shape. The same routine of training and body cultivation continued for a year.
After cultivating the true god physique for 12 months, Ryan had successfully opened and cleansed the 12 major meridians in his body and felt tremendous improvement in his overall characteristics.
Each of his breaths were deep and brought a large amount of energy into his circulatory system, of which almost 30% was absorbed by his body, unlike the usual 15% normal humans could absorb.
His body's strength was increased by at least twofold, with increased toughness. His tendons and ligaments were really flexible too, minimizing the chances of breaking them during physical training. His bones were as strong as iron. His body had grown at an amazing pace. Even though he was only two years old, he looked more like a five year old, with a height of 130 cm and perfectly proportioned muscles, which were slowly becoming distinguishable from his silky smooth skin. Speaking of growth, little Jin had grown a lot as well. She was around 1.25 years old by now, but looked a lot like a 3 year old. She had blonde hair with grey eyes, smooth skin like marble and lips as pink as a sakura flower in summer. Her face exuded a calm and regal aura that could entice everything. Sometimes, even Ryan couldn't believe she was a toddler till half a year ago.
As for his training with his dad, it was proceeding smoothly. Every day Shan made him run 5 laps around the entire forest, which was around 2 km in total per one lap, as well as add weight to his limbs to increase his power. He also made Ryan do 10 minute planks and a 100 push ups and sit ups each day with weights on him (Yeah, the opm training regimen). This was already too much for a two year old kid. But, with the power from cultivating true god physique, Ryan could barely keep up with it. The hardest of all was agility training. As this one would be the most needed skill for Ryan if he were to escape from Spirit Hall, Shan paid extra attention to this. Everyday, this training was carried out by the Silver Bow Douluo himself (without using his spirit power of course), using a regular bow. He would shoot arrows at Ryan, asking him to avoid getting hit at all costs. At first, to Ryan, the arrows seemed so fast that he doubted they were supersonic. But, as time progressed, he could see a few of them and was able to dodge, but his success rate was still at even one per cent. 'Thank god those arrows are just brittle sticks with no sharp ends, or my old man would have eaten me off of a skewer on the first day', he thought gratefully, while panting from exhaustion. After all of this, Shan would make him train his archery in all the basic necessities such as aim and wind gauging. And at the end of the day, Ryan would pass out and as usual, wake up on his bed, smelling like fresh flowers.
Everyday during his sleep, Ryan would enter his mental realm and cultivate body and train "Archery 101". After the very basic things like optimal holding poses and parts of the bow, each page of the book he opened transformed the realm according to the contents of the page. It tested and improved his various skills like concentration, balance, wind speed estimation and aim. He was, and currently is in the beginner level, which was all that this book was composed of. And as for how to move forward, he had no idea. So, his current objective on this was to complete the beginner level and wait for a way to show itself. Hence, he expected no surprises from this section after the first year of training in his mental realm.
However, the same could not be said for the true god physique as he was quite eagerly looking forward to what the part 2 of the book contained. He had already finished the first part. Now is usually the time in awesome novels where the MC would be rewarded with cool sounding special moves! He had a huge grin on his face as excitement filled his heart, like a kid waiting for gifts on Christmas. But, all hopes were crushed when he read the name on the first page of the second part and let out a cry in a questioning tone: "Haah????!!!". The page read 'Individual Enhancement'.
