Douluo Dalu Within A Martial World

"What are you looking at?".

To Wang Xue, a young fifteen year old girl who had no idea how truly high the sky was, and never understood the concept of a mountain behind a mountain and a man behind a man, she looked at this strange child and raised an eyebrow curiously.

"This is my teachers mountaintop. I don't know what your doing here little boy, but I would be grateful if you would leave".

Her words were slightly arrogant, and she looked down at the small child with a raised head.

Bing Xian was confused.

'What?'.

Wang Xue would've already memorized Bing Xian's physique and facial features from the first moment they met. His six year old body was hard to notice but definitely not forgettable. Even with the faint dark attributed true essence clouding the mountaintop, she should know who he was.

"My teacher, Sir Bing, has claimed this mountaintop as his own. I don't know who you think you are, but I cannot permit you to-".

"What are you talking about little snow? I am Bing Xian!".

Bing Xian took a step forward towards Wang Xue, and the latter merely narrowed her eyes at the small child, before widening and bowing profusely. Her tone was the complete opposite from what it was earlier.

"I'm terribly sorry Sir Bing! Xue didn't recognize you with your body's changes!.... Have you condensed a [False Shadow Seed] by any chance?".

Bing Xian had had skimmed over the [Divine Blackening Art] and it did say that there would be physical changes once a [False Shadow Seed] had been condensed, and reasoned that it must be the same with the [Holy Shadow Blackening Art] and its [True Shadow Seed].

'That's correct little Xian', Xiao An's voice echoed throughout Bing Xian's Sea of Consciousness, 'Once you open the [True Shadow Seed], dark attributed true essence will flow into the body and cause minor external changes. Hair color, eye color, pressure exhibited.... but those are of secondary importance, what matters is the quality of you [True Shadow Seed]!'.

The six year old nodded at his masters words.

It would make sense if Bing Xian's dark blue hair and starry blue eyes changed and become a different color. He saw his hands and noticed that his skin color had changed, if not becoming a shade lighter than before.

'I guess [Blackening] might be useful for disguises after all....'.

His shoulder length dark blue hair and navy blue eyes were quite noticeable when compared to everyone else in Green Valley Town. Even in Green Mulberry City, he had never sen anyone else with such a hair color.

Bing Xian shrugged his shoulders and looked at Wang Xue, who was still bowing and apologizing for her misdeeds.

He waved her off.

"It's fine little snow. I forgot about the changes after condensing a [False Shadow Seed], so don't worry about it.... however, in the future, don't be so arrogant in front of people whose capabilities you don't fully know. If you do, it may prove fatal and you should know what will happen to you after that... don't you?".

Bing Xian sighed before noticing his small log wood cabin had exploded from the amount of dark attributed true essence their was in the air, and became nothing but pieces of wood scattered on a mountaintop.

He looked towards the setting sun in the distance before gesturing for Wang Xue to follow him back to Green Valley Town. It seems he would have to find refuge in the village tonight.

Bing Xian spent the rest of the week consolidating his [True Shadow Seed] and cultivating in order to reach the 1st Stage of Body Transformation. Although he had stabilized his [True Shadow Seed] which prevented it from dispersing, he unfortunately had yet to reach the Strength Training Stage of the Body Transformation Realm.

He didn't forget to practice the [Thirteen Shadow Transformations], and nor did he neglect his studies on inscriptions and arrays within the [Heavenly Inscription Chronicle] and Bing Xian found himself fully entranced with everything his master had gifted him.

In this past seven days, Wang Xue had taught the villagers some low level martial arts Bing Xian had gifted her from his second life, and readily practiced those martial arts, her Rank 2 Martial Talent, while not nearly as powerful as Bing Xian's Rank 7, still exceeded those Rank 1 and Rank 0 villagers who struggled to adapt their bodies to the forms.

Little Snow also ate and drunk some [Holy Shadow] Beast blood and flesh, which had the effect of purifying her internal viscera, allowing her to reach the peak of the 2nd Stage of Body Transformation, just one more step and she would've reached the 3rd Stage!

"Wang Xue, your body currently has an abundance of true essence from that beast blood and flesh. Before you reach the 3rd Stage of Body Transformation, you will condense a [False Shadow Seed] within your Dantian. Don't worry about how long it will take, we'll leave a couple days later if you need".

Wang Xue took a total of fifteen days to properly condense a [False Shadow Seed], twelve more days than what Bing Xian needed to condense his.

When Wang Xue had condensed her [False Shadow Seed] her looks changed dramatically.

However, Wang Xue had a complete different [Blackening] to Bing Xian's and what was stated within the [Divine Shadow Art]!

Her smooth silky straight black hair that dripped down like a black waterfall, had turned as white as snow, giving her the image of a heavenly snow woman. Her skin had become as radiant as "mutton-fat" nephrite. Her iris turned completely white, however the faint black line between her iris and sclera still remained.

Bing Xian, Xiao An and the silly crane were all dumbfounded by the change!

'I've seen this before! This is a result of all the dark-attributed beast flesh and blood she has consumed! Her [False Shadow Seed] had congregated a huge concentration of dark attributed true essence and her body's innate attributes matched that of the [Divine Shadow Art]!'.

Bing Xian looked at the small [Holy Shadow] beast exit his Sea of Consciousness and look down at the cultivating Wang Xue.

'Unlike your body, which gained the dark affinity through a baptism, her body already possessed a dark attribute, which allowed her to create a [White Shadow Seed]!'.

The six year old didn't fully understand so gestured for Xiao An to continue.

'The most common affinities of the human race are Fire, Earth, Metal, Water and Wood. Higher tier affinities like Lightning and Darkness aren't rare but are definitely uncommon..... and it seems your little apprentice has this uncommon affinity'.

Bing Xian started to understand.

This meant that her talent for practicing dark-attributed cultivation techniques and battle skills were increased.

'Master, what did you mean by a [White Shadow Seed]? Is it unique to those who have a dark attribute?'.

Xiao An nodded.

'It is. I have seen over a hundred humans in my lifetime who possess a dark attribute, and all who cultivated the [Divine Blackening Art] have condensed a [White Shadow Seed]. If darkness is the absence of light, and the absence of light is the absence of color, all that remains is just a blank canvas. Whether that canvas be black or white, depends on the cultivator'.

Bing Xian stood still for a moment, comprehending Xiao An's words, and smiled slowly and looked down at the two foot tall [Holy Shadow] Beast.

"Do you want me to teach her the [Thirteen Shadow Transformations]?".

While Xiao An couldn't stop him if Bing Xian wanted to teach Wang Xue, it was still polite to ask his master if he could teach his techniques to other people.

Luckily, the [Holy Shadow] Beast nodded.

'It would be such a waste for her not to practice it. For someone who has an innate darkness affinity, her speed in cultivation would be quicker than those of an even higher Martial Talent'.

'It seems like even fate wants me to succeed'.

His eyes trailed over Wang Xue's immaculate figure as he sat down in the corner of the room.

'Your importance has increased little snow, it seems like a pawn has suddenly become a Knight'.
