October 13th.

I was busy installing the distiller and testing the distillation until a few days ago, but was finally able to distill steadily and back to a calm life.

I finished my morning audition that morning, as usual, and had breakfast.

Nicholas and his wife Kate jumped in there.

"Dear Hall! The soap is ready!

Nicholas, who is always calm, rushes over to his father holding one.

Though my father was also surprised at how it went, he was surprised by the fact that soap was made, "Is that true!" and get up.

I almost stood up with him, but since he was a tall chair for your kids, he put his hand on the table and looked at Nicholas in a way that stretched out.

In one word of his grandfather's "restlessness," Nicholas bows his head to his grandfather, and his father sits back in his chair, looking like a bum.

"What I made last month was solidifying. Perhaps it's complete..."

Nicholas also calms down a little, realizing that I haven't checked, and gives me a slightly less confident mouthfeel.

My father said, "Did you confirm that?," he asks, looking at me.

"I just scraped a little and rubbed it in the water, and it bubbled. The dirt seems to be coming off, too, so you're pretty sure."

The meal is also there. My father takes Nicholas towards the water field.

I wanted to follow, too, but I thought it was unnatural to go before I finished eating, and after I finished eating, I hurried to the water field.

(It's time for you to cum out to your brother. And you really did?

Next to the well, Nicholas was sharpening the soap with a knife and showing it to my father.

"Put it on the water and rub it and see. There should be bubbles."

My father nods at Nicholas' words, putting soap shards on the water and then rubbing them with his hands.

It felt slightly bubbly, but it was hard to say it was a clean bubble.

I'll signal Nicholas with my eyes and get some soap shards.

The feeling I took in my hand is close to the soap, but not the smooth soap I usually used. Overall, it feels slightly soft and slightly rough.

I put it on the water just like my father did, and then I start rubbing my hands.

(It feels shiny, but don't bubble. After that, check whether the skin is rough. Nevertheless I didn't know I could really...)

My father, Nicholas and Kate are watching me rubbing my hands with a serious look.

I nodded to my father, "I'm done, Father," and then I said, "Nicholas, Kate, you've worked so hard. Thank you so much," I bow my head to both of you.

They cuddled and rejoiced, and my father told them, "Well done. You did really good," he said in his voice.

Two people, Nicholas and Kate, are tearing up, "Thank you," and nodding to my father.

Where the two of us settled down, the four of us went straight to Nicholas' house.

As we enter his house, we first check the notes on how Nicholas and the others were making it down.

When I looked at that note, I realized that the two instructions I gave in the middle of September were what triggered it.

That instruction is that the source of the ash juice was changed from straw to black pond aquatic plants. And that's what I put in the salt.

Furthermore, another added process is likely to have contributed to completion.

At the end of September, Nicholas gave a report. He explained the situation to me to worry about how to report it.

"What you instructed me to do about ten days ago is look a little different. Until now, it felt like a porridge of wheat, but this time... yes, it felt like a former (curd) of cheese..."

In his explanation, the drowsiness seems very different.

By saying, "The Hundred News is only at first sight," I immediately went to his house and checked his condition.

(You sure are in a different condition...... feels close to Oolo Tofu?

And if you scratch an object in that obscure state, it feels slightly bubbly. I thought about it and rubbed it for the cloth.

The feel feels soggy at first, and gradually bubbles begin to form.

(Maybe you have liquid soap? then......)

I thought that if we let the moisture out of this obtuse object, it would be solid soap. The method of draining moisture was decided to try the method of wrapping the moisture in a cloth with reference to cotton tofu and separating the moisture in a way that compresses slowly from the top.

After trying that method, the moisture slowly drained out, but it still only became like a drooling gel and I decided to see how it went for a while. That's about half a month and it seems to have finally solidified.

As for the added material, I remembered the story of using seagrass, so I used the aquatic plants available nearby. As for salt, I just wanted to try adding sodium somehow, and there was no clear basis.

I don't know exactly what the ingredients were needed for the soap, and the way it was made was inaccurate, so I don't have time to decide what was good for me. But there's no doubt only that Nicholas' efforts completed the soap.

I returned the note to Nicholas and thanked him again.

"It's a really mind-boggling thought. Thanks. You could never have done it with my halfway knowledge without the two of you. Thank you so much."

When I bow my head, "I just followed Master Zacharias' instructions," Nicholas humbles himself.

I will only thank you once more and explain to my father what is to come.

"It's done for now, but still, I can't use it without checking for skin effects. I'll be the experimental bench, so we'll see how it goes for a month or so."

Nicholas and Kate were surprised by my words, "Put Master Zacharias on the experimental bench, etc. We'll try it," he said.

"I'm more convenient with my kid's weak skin. Plus there's Liddy in the mansion. Because if my skin gets rough, I can get Liddy to fix it right away."

Are you two hard to convince, you still look difficult, but whatever, I'm going to give you the next instruction.

"Based on this successful formula, I want you to make something that subtly changed the mixing, something that slightly changed the formula, etc. This isn't always the best idea."

The two nod at it, but Nicholas says, "What do you want me to do with the fragrance?," he asked.

Sure, this soap smells tough. I feel a unique animal odor or a raw odor.

"Right...... try adding aromatic vanilla extract based on the basic formula. I'll leave what I use to you."

Once again, my father will work for both of us and return to the mansion with me.

As I walked, I said, "To what extent are you going to be able to make it? 'Cause I've heard,

"Right. If you're just going to make it at Nicholas' house, that would be about fifty pieces per day. If you could also help me with Hector - Mel's father - or Guy - Sharon's father - you'd be able to make twice that."

"Can you sell about 3,000 pieces a month? Even if you sell them for 10 C (krona) each, you can sell 30,000 C (= 30 million yen)..."

"The ingredients won't last that long," I stab the nail in my father's words.

"If you have ingredients now, if you make hundreds of them, the ingredients will be gone. You can buy fat in a nearby city, but there's a limit to the number of pigs and cows around here, so you can't make that many."

My father will look a little sorry, but soon he will say, "Do you make this a specialty? I've heard."

I didn't mean to be a specialty, as originally planned. Because the disadvantage of competing with imperial vendors is enormous.

"I won't make it a specialty. Because this is only to prevent the outbreak of the plague. If you decide you can use it, distribute it for use in children and pregnant women, along with instructions on how to wash your hands. Then also forbid reselling the soap and distribute it for free"

I heard they would distribute it for free, and they look like they don't have a body for a moment, but they seem to reconsider it's for the people immediately.

"As lords, let's order you to wash your hands with soap. But what if a pedestrian wants it?

"Directly, give instructions to the lord to offer. Make sure to sell them in small quantities as one-fifth or two C of the distribution price"

Does my father look a little reluctant about that pricing?

"That's broken. I feel like it could be a little more expensive... and how can you make it smaller?

"Selling cheap is to make you think we don't understand its value correctly. And selling small quantities at once is to prevent rumors from spreading."

My father is still leaning his neck in my explanation.

"If only a little, the merchants will also carefully select who to sell. Naturally, they're going to be rich people they know. And if rumors spread among the rich, they'll pass on to the merchants they're dealing with. When a rich merchant, or a financially powerful merchant, gets here, he sells a ton of stocked soap to make a profit all at once."

My father seems to have convinced me of my explanation, and he's nodding, yeah.

I'm going to add that I'm going to sell more manufacturing methods.

"We just made some profit and sell the manufacturing methods to the merchants. Anyone who pays a certain amount of money will be given what they write about the manufacturing method without restricting the number of people."

At first, I thought I'd decide where to sell it in a bid, but then I thought I'd make it all public to whoever paid the royalty.

Whereas my father grew a little greedy,

"I still feel spared selling the method of manufacture, but how can it be a specialty of this village?

"A year or two would be possible, but not for a long time. First of all, we cannot manufacture large quantities here. There is a risk that an imperial contractor with the power to do so will intervene. Because we don't know what we're going to do to protect our rights. It would be safer to pretend to be ignorant of business and just spread the word."

My father seems to think he's still unharmed, but he immediately remembered my secret.

"If you do something bad, your secret will be leaked. At any rate, where we do business and are not merchants, we are no match for the real merchants."

My father seemed really worried about me, and the back of his nose came a little twinkly. I'll keep talking like I'm deluding it.

"Yes. So it's more profitable to sell your manufacturing methods. If you sell it to multiple vendors for about 10,000 C per vendor, that's enough."

"10,000...... is it okay to make it that expensive?

"The current price of soap is ten C a piece, and depending on the amount you make, the cost of materials and labor should be sufficient on a commercial basis for about a dozen of them. In other words, most of the sales go to profit. I don't know how much demand there is, but if you sell it for half price 5C, you can collect it for just over 2,000 pieces. If you have about a hundred customers, you can collect them in about a year."

My father is tilting his neck slightly because he doesn't understand what is sensory.

"You may reluctant to be expensive at first, but if more vendors come to buy, you will always hit your hand at that price. I know I can definitely make money, but I'm disqualified as a merchant, such as looking at my fingers and watching my competitors get it."

My father seems finally convinced, too.

In addition, I will explain my expectations of future price trends.

"It's the price of soap, but if I were a merchant, I'd sell one for five C at first, and for a customer who buys a lot, I'd sell it for about two C. The point is, you should dig up the ongoing demand. Afterwards, if the competition comes out, the price will gradually drop, but I think it will settle in about C's at a time. That's about it, the purchasing base is spreading, so it's a thin profit, but it makes money."

"I don't know, I'll leave that area to you and Nicholas. I was more curious than that, is it good to have rough skin? I said you'd be the experimental bench, are you sure you're okay?

My father seems worried about me.

"Sometimes the ingredients don't suit your skin, because the lime itself isn't good for your body in the first place. But we have Liddy, so it's okay. And I can almost imagine what the symptoms would be."

Still, I tell my worried father I'm fine with laughing.

I kept using it for a few days but decided to ask my maids Molly and Tricia to use it as well, especially since I didn't get itchy or rough skin.

Because of the idea that if you don't have a problem with the skin of two people whose hands are always rough to use water, you'll be fine.

I tried using it for about a month, but no one, including me, saw anything unusual. For this reason it was decided to have it used not only in the mansion, but also in the houses of the squire.

In the meantime, improvements to Nicholas and Kate have progressed and have been successful in fragrances such as lavender and chamomile.

And we also seem to have found an optimal spot for quality, complete with satisfactory soap.

November 15th.

I will explain to my squire how to use the soap.

First explain how to wash your hands and thoroughly use them before meals and after toilets. And I will teach you to wash your hands as much as possible when you touch an infant, although you are not at home.

"Soap doesn't eliminate the source of all illnesses, but it can be considerably reduced. Clean washing, especially since it is easy to accumulate the source of the illness between fingertips and nails. Can be used in dishes and clothing, but needs to be rinsed clean to avoid soap ingredients remaining…"

I don't know if you're convinced of my explanation, but everyone nodded.

"If things work out here, I'm going to hand it out to the villagers. Nicholas plans to explain, but I'm going to explain that he's using it at the mansion and at everyone's, so I want you to remember how to do it. If there's something you don't understand, I want you to ask me or Nicholas or Kate."

I was going to hand out five to each house for now and see how it went one cup this year.

And we plan to distribute the soap to the villagers from the beginning of the year.

I have a point of reflection about this one.

When you start things with half-way knowledge, it means you're annoyed by the people who make you do it.

Nicholas is helping me on my grandfather's orders, but if it wasn't for my esteemed grandfather's orders, Nicholas would have thrown them out early, too. Conversely, it means that my grandfather would also do something quite impossible if he ordered me to.

The cost of materials, equipment, etc. has been told by my father to put it out, but he almost has me working for him. I am reflecting on how much time I have allowed myself to devote to the operation of the village, even though it is inherently an indispensable figure.

I'm thinking about what I'm going to do next, but I think we should make sure that the Nicholas and the others are not strained as much as we can.

In that regard, Dwarf's Beltram is the same, but to him, making something new seems like a fun thing to rock artisan souls, so I'm only comfortable with that.

The next reform plan is going to focus on Liddy, a person who seems to be free.

Totally irrelevant story, but I've changed a lot since I started using soap.

My father shaved his beard.

When I explained that when I used soap to shave my beard, I could shave it clean and without pain, and I was shaving my beard in the middle of the day.

When I heard the story, my mother didn't like her beard very much, and my father told my mother to shave her beard.

Shaved his mustache, his father gently put his brown hair together behind him, all the way to his shoulders, and he was a handsome man with clear blue eyes.

(I do feel like my mother would rather not have a mustache. I hope this makes you fall back in love and have more brothers......)

Because my father shaved his beard, Enos - son of the squire head Walt - who will marry Nicholas' daughter Gene on November 20, five days later, also shaved his beard.

Shaving his beard makes him feel youthful, showing a lightly colored blonde hair with a short mowed father's concession, which makes him feel pretty good.

(You look old when you have a mustache. What a twenty year old Enos. There it is, but when I first saw it, I thought it was about thirty. But shaving your beard in this village might be fashionable...)
