Dream Life - Life in the Other World of Dreams
Lesson 36: Forest
May 25, 2010.
I'm eight years old.
My routine is being trained in swordsmanship in the morning and magic and swordsmanship in the afternoon.
My status, though.
Zacharias Lockhart, eight years old, Demon Swordsman, Level 12.

Special Abilities: Robustness, Disease Resistance, Toxic Resistance, Mental Resistance, Vision Enhancement, Exercise of Death, Previous Memory, Reference, Demonic Martial Arts
The maximum muscle strength, reflex nerve, and physical control abilities are slightly but elevated.
I remembered at the time of the setup that it was the maximum value of that character, but for some reason it was up.
Perhaps because of my training from an early age, but given the content of my conversation with God in the first place, I feel like this number doesn't make sense in itself. So I'm careful not to be overjoyed by the numbers.
That's what I'm trying to say, but I'm still glad my talent is going up. Especially when the max goes up, so much so that I accidentally scream. As my father rushed into the room, I was ashamed to explain, but I was so happy.
For once, I tried to calculate how this number went up, but as the instructions showed, I was drawing a curve towards the maximum value in adults, i.e. fifteen years old.
In seven more years it will be the status of this number. I don't know much about the relationship between status and combat ability, but even if you have some skills, I guess it means that body building is still important because you don't fight adults.
As for body surgery, it has been tricky and fifteen. I imagined and practiced movement like a gymnast, and now I can do Baku Zeus as well. He hides from his grandfather, but also practices moves that combine swordsmanship, physical skill, fighting, throwing, etc. He also practices tricky moves like an action movie: rolling out kicks while attacking with a sword, throwing knives as he buckles.
Of course, I just do it because it looks good and I don't think it can be used in action. I'm only imitating the action hero stuff I wanted to do as a kid, and I realize it's childish myself. But he's reborn in the corner, so he's just doing things he couldn't have done back in the day. But I'm just doing it in hiding because I'm embarrassed when someone else sees me.
Other than that, I'm starting to train in demon fighting.
I increase my speed with wind attributes, increase my attack with fire attributes, and increase my defense with metallicity, but my body doesn't control well, and I often fall flashy. It's also different from the usual movement, so it's not passive and falls quite unnecessarily. I'm also ashamed to be seen doing that, so I'm hiding and training this as well.
The face of Zach Cartel, Mel is nine years old, has ten swordsman levels and fourteen swordsmanship skills. Her sword is very similar to her grandfather's mould, so much so that she falls in love when she sees it. I can't help but think that my sword, which is my grandfather's apprentice, is not that beautiful due to the lack of a large mirror of appearance.
I just don't know if it's because my personality is honest or because I know my grandfather's mould, but Mel's attacks are easy to avoid. It's never a slow slaughter, but you can read the orbit. When I asked my grandfather about this, he said, "That's fine now. It's something I'll remember in action."
From my grandfather's point of view, he said that experiencing actual battles in the future will add to his application, and he doesn't need to worry too much.
It's about Dan, but a year ago, Mel and I were worried about swordsman levels being pulled apart.
It was a high enough level for an eight-year-old, but he himself, concerned himself with the slowest growing of the three.
I talked to Dan and heard his troubles.
He seemed to yearn for adventurers like his father, Guy - the scout - a scout who could use his sword and bow in a balanced way, and worried that his swordsmanship skill level would not increase.
"You want to be an adventurer like Guy. Then maybe I could do a bow."
to my words. He seemed to think the same thing,
"I asked my father to tell me that it's too early..."
Guy thought of his young son who wasn't physically able, and the bow technique seemed like he was going to teach a little further.
I tried telling my grandfather that story. Not from my grandfather.
"Dan is eight years old too... and you and Mel, and Rod's sword talent is unusual. I can't help but compare it to that, but maybe it's time to start bowing."
As an archer, my grandfather had Hector Marron - Mel's father - with the best arm in the Lockhart family, start teaching bowing.
Mel also did it at first, but you find he's not talented, and he's putting it right back into one sword. I know I'm not talented, so I haven't joined since the beginning.
Dan continued to wear swordsmanship and bowing twofold twofold for a year, showing high talent for swordsman level eight, swordsman skill twelve, archer level three, bowsmanship skill three and bowsmanship alike.
My grandfather was also surprised by the talent, and turned to Dan, "Don't carry on the trail of my father," he said, slapping his head pounding and laughing.
Dan was so happy with his grandfather's words, he said with a full grin, "I'll do my best!" I was impressed that he had replied aloud.
At the end of the day, Sharon is the most amazing person but me.
She was only born a month earlier than me, and she's eight years old, just like me. With fire and wind attributes and instructed from an early age, she has about five fire attributes and about ten wind attributes in Liddy's standpoint and is at the level of a third grader in the School of Magic, about fifteen. Even more surprisingly, magic can be used without chanting, just like me. Because of the low Magic Holding (MP) yet, I can't do that in a row, but the time to Magic Activation is comparable to mine.
Especially not only do I use my original wind attribute magic, Swallow Wing Blade (Swallow Cutter) - a deformed version of the wind blade (Windslash) in the shape of a swordfish - but I have better detailed control than my developer.
When I asked her about it,
"I've been watching the swordfish a lot, so somehow it flies like this."
I grow up to be a little bit of a natural loose girl, but I take my hat off for my observation skills and their reproducibility.
Initially, Liddy recommended going to the School of Magic, but these days he stopped talking about it.
"There's nothing Sharon can learn when he goes. In two more years, you'll be a graduate, and it's better to have experience than that. This is something I can tell you."
The average level of graduates of Doctus' School of Magic is roughly fifteen, he said.
I can't simply say good or bad because I don't just teach magic in college, but if I wasn't going to be a researcher or educator, it wouldn't be so useful.
In my case, I want to study dark attributes with lots of mysteries and metal properties that I don't really know how to use, so I thought I'd go to the School of Magic, but I didn't really need to go to the College if I was just going to get the most out of attack magic.
When I turned eight, I had something to ask of my grandfather.
I want to go to the woods.
I want to go to the woods for two reasons.
One is to increase the level of swordsman, a professional level, by gaining real-life experience, and the other is to improve field-based skills such as sign perception and covert.
As for the first battle in action, I could go a little further, but I want to acquire skills that will help me in the future, such as sign perception and covert.
I don't think it would be possible for an eight-year-old to go to a dangerous forest. But I have the minimum means of self-defense - magic - so I'm wondering if I can do something about it.
When I went to my grandfather's room and told him that I wanted to go to the woods, my grandfather thought a little and agreed with me, albeit conditionally.
"A little early, but good. But only if Guy or Hector admits it."
The next day, I catch Hector coming to my grandfather about the vigilante.
Hector greets me with his usual bright smile, but that smile clouds when he tells me he wants me to take him to the woods.
"I was wondering if it was too soon for Master Zach. Because there are unexpected dangers in the woods."
I can't give up and ask him to "take Hector if he can confirm and convince me".
He looks in trouble, but says, "Okay. Practice in the woods east of Kanga Hill," he said to the woods east.
This forest grows a lot of maples harvesting maple syrup, making it our playground as well.
We will be conducting training on how to walk with vigilance around, which is fundamental to walking in the woods in this forest, and stop as soon as there is a signal.
After about three days of practice, Hector's permission was granted and he was to go to a relatively safe west forest.
Hector and Guy, plus we're going into the woods with Will.
Wear a skinned hat, put a water bottle or something in the small backpack, and place the dagger on your hips. Basically, I don't fight, so I'm just saying it's a hobby of a knight's house boy.
When it was time to leave, Dan and Mel were screaming that they were going with them, but their two fathers - Hector and Guy - were kicking their asses and the two were unfaithful.
I left the Hall Hill about the three adults, taking notes to my heart to keep a follow up even tomorrow.
After going down Kanga Hill, head straight south and continue down the street running south of the western hill. Crossing the bridge hung on the Finn River is the forest to the west.
We leave at 8 a.m. and arrive in the woods in about twenty minutes.
The purpose of the three of us today is to scout the West Forest.
They regularly look for traces of demons and find out if there are any dangerous demons approaching the village.
Although dangerous demons have never inhabited the western forest, vigilance is indispensable as animals of the order of wolves often enter.
Thirty minutes into the woods. Undergrown grass is tangled in your legs and very difficult to walk.
Adults about one hundred and eighty cm tall don't seem to be so bitter, but it's pretty hard for me to be about one hundred and thirty cm tall.
Guy who leads the way also cares about me and he's slowing me down a lot, but still, I'm not about to be on guard around him.
Continue through the woods as serpentine from the east side close to the village to the north and south, but in about an hour your breath will rise.
Hector said, "Master Zach, would you like to take a short break? ♪ And he cares ♪
"Ha ha, it's my fault, you don't have to worry. Ha, ha, I'm just having you slow down, ha, enough."
That's what I'm saying with a rough breath, so I'm unconvincing.
Hector had a bitter laugh, too, and once he entered the small pause.
Sitting on a nearby fallen tree, drinking water from the water bottle gobbly, I finally take a breath.
Looking around, the fresh greenery of May is so dazzling that the light of the sun through the emerald-colored young leaves sparkles. Around it sounds the sound of birds and bugs, and it feels like I said peace itself.
After taking a break of about five minutes, he immediately restarts.
Gradually, the forest deepens and the vegetation becomes more prominent. It is even mysterious to see at its roots a grass that grows like a lamb tooth on a mossy rock, and a grass with even smaller flowers.
In my previous life I admired beautiful nature such as Shirakami Mountains and Yakushima.
And there's a comparable nature spreading in front of me. I'm touched and full of breasts, but Guy's word cooled the excitement all at once.
"It's a wolf's footprint. A flock of forest wolves… about twenty heads"
I accidentally laid my hands on the hip-dagger and looked around.
Guy's watching the footprints in front of me. And he looks up and asks Hector for his opinion.
"I think it's pretty new, what do you think?
"Right. Something like three days. Will, look at you too."
Will, a former farmer, is being coached by veterans Hector and Guy because of his inexperience in the woods.
I peered into that footprint so I could peek in from Will's side, too.
Dog-like footprint about 10 cm long, but feels bigger than I thought it would be wide.
"How big is a forest wolf?," Guy told me when he heard it.
"That's about it... your head is about 70 cm tall, and you're about 1 or 3 meters from head to tail base."
Guy explains it to me as he shows me how big he is with his hands.
(Is it about Siberian husky? Maybe a little bigger than that. That's twenty heads...... not pretty bad?
When I'm thinking about that, Guy laughs,
"Well, it's a wolf about two times smaller than a gray wolf. If it's about twenty heads, there's nothing wrong with that, because we can defeat enough of our squire alone."
(Really? We only have six squire, even if we combine these three with Walt, Nicholas, and Enos. Can we deal with three heads per person?
You had my concerns on your face, Hector laughed,
"Even the three of us can defeat this much. Don't worry about it."
I managed to loosen my expression and nodded, "Okay."
Guy takes the lead and follows in the footsteps, but the wolves' footsteps go straight into the north woods.
"We reschedule and go into the North Forest. I don't think it's particularly dangerous, but the forest will be deeper than ever, so please tell me whenever you're tired"
I nod to Hector and follow in the wolf's footsteps again.
About two hours northward through the forest to the north, but he gave up pursuit when he entered Mount Shekharion, a small mountain to the north.
"We're back in the mountains, so I guess we just wandered around looking for food. A little early, but let's have lunch here."
Have lunch in a place where giant trees with a trunk diameter exceeding 1 m are falling.
They say it fell during a storm three years ago, making it a place where you can see the sky flat in the deep woods. In Molly's baked bread under a bright sun, cheek a sandwich sandwiched with roasted salted pork.
Pork fat spreads through the mouth, adding flavor to the crusty bread.
At the end of the day, we have a grilled sweet with honey and a brief lunch is over.
Phew exhaled, looking up at the sky, a bird like a lark was dancing in the sky.
(Peace itself. Now with the Mels, it's just a picnic)
That's what I thought. Looking around, Hector had a bow.
I almost raised my voice unexpectedly, but looking ahead of his gaze, one brown rabbit was eating grass about thirty meters ahead.
Hector aiming quietly and releasing an arrow without any foretaste.
The sound of slashing and tearing the air called Shh echoed around, and I immediately heard the sound of Dossah and the sad cry of Puh.
Will quickly approaches and retrieves the rabbit.
Hector's unleashed arrow pierced the rabbit's flank beautifully and was already dead. Will immediately begins to drain blood and the rabbit's brown fur stains red.
"Brilliant! One shot at that distance? That's amazing."
Hector bows his head lightly to my praise and shows me Will's brought rabbit.
My father used to hunt with hobbies in his previous life. Well, it feels more like I was dating an executive's hobby than a hobby, but when I was in elementary school, I had followed it many times, and I've watched the blood drain from the pigeons and ducks many times. It was my job and my brother's job to ru the bird feathers caught on it, so I have no aversion to this kind of thing.
Rabbits are still a little thin, but they should be pretty big and not after tomorrow.
(You have a good heart and liver. It smells a little, but when I multiply the sauce made of blood, red wine and stock, it just goes with the dark red wine per syrah......)
Unexpectedly, who is about to drown, forcing his consciousness away from the rabbit.
Again, head to the west woods, around 2 p.m., out into the streets.
"This brings me back today. That's what I'll report to my predecessors as long as it moves."
I get Hector's ink, and I go back to the village in a moody mood.
I found a pheasant stopping at a tree branch along the way. When I told the three of them to shoot me down by magic, Hector laughed and said, "Go ahead, good luck."
The distance is over thirty meters, and the tree branches get in the way of direct radiation, so he doesn't seem to think it's possible.
I took it as a challenge to me and decided to target it with my specialty Magic Swallow Wing Blade (Swallow Cutter) Magic.
"It is the god of the wind (Wentus) who brings many winds. Give me a swallow of heavenly blades. Give me the power of my life, dance, Swallow Wing Blade (Swallow Cutter)"
As always, I don't like cooking secondary spells, but if I don't cast this, my magic (MP) usage will change about twice as much.
My unleashed clear swordfish flies like crawling on the ground and turns up right under Kijibato all at once. Kijibato, who was alarmed, rushed to fly, but was beheaded by a spreading swordfish wing, spraying blood, while falling.
The sight was gazed upon by Hector and the others with a flashing look.
"... Dear Zach, what is the magic now? Suddenly, the movement changed..."
"Oh, because you're a swordfish. I would move like that. Guy, this is because Sharon can also be used."
When I said that, Guy got harder than Hector.
Speaking to Guy as he walked later, he said he heard from Liddy that magic was now available, but he hadn't heard exactly how much magic he could use, and he thought it was precise, to the point where he could light a fire or start a wind.
Return to the Mansion around 4pm for evening training.
My legs are stretched on the bread because I just walked nearly 10 km through the woods, but to this extent it is not a reason to take a break from training.
From the next day the Mels were also allowed to go to the woods.
As I was aiming, the magic demonstration worked, so was Sharon's companionship without swordsmanship.
(Only Sharon couldn't go to the woods if it stayed that way. Then I feel sorry for him, and I thought if I made him look a little flashy, Hector and Guy would convince me, but you really went for it...)
Tomorrow will be Zach Cartel's forest debut day.
